Before using the appliance for the first time, read and observe these operating instructions and the accompanying brochure:

Safety installations
If the safety switch is released, the brush drive shuts off.
Function
This carpet cleaner is used for wet cleaning carpets.
A working width of 400 mm and a capacity of 22 l in the fresh and waste water tank each enable effective cleaning with long working times.
Mains operation allows high performance.
Intermediate cleaning: The detergent solution is sprayed on and brushed in. After drying, the dirt bound by the detergent is extracted in a second procedure.
Basic cleaning: The detergent solution is sprayed on, brushed in, and, in the same procedure, extracted together with the dissolved dirt.
Proper use
Use this appliance only as directed in these operating instructions.
- This appliance is suited for the commercial use, e.g. in hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, offices, and rental companies.
– The appliance should only be used to clean non-moisture sensitive carpeting.
- The device is not suitable for use on deep pile wool carpets.
- The appliance may only be equipped with original accessories and spare parts.
- This appliance is intended for inside use.

The packaging material can be recy- cled. Please do not place the packag-
ing into the ordinary refuse for disposal, but arrange for the proper recycling.

Operation
→ Release the star knob for the transport position.
→ Straighten the steering column.
→ Tighten the star handle.
Parking support
Folding the parking support out
→ Tilt the appliance approximately 30° backwards. The parking support swings downwards.
→ Tilt the appliance forwards. The appliance is standing on the parking support; the brush is unloaded.
Folding the parking support in
→ Push the appliance forwards. The parking support swings upwards.
Filling in detergents
⚠ WARNING
Risk of damage. Only use the recommended detergents. With other detergents, the operator bears the increased risk regarding the operational safety, risk of accident and reduced service life of the appliance. Only use detergents that are free of solvents, hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid.
Follow the safety instructions for using detergents.
Note:
Do not use highly foaming detergents.
Observe the dosing notes.
→ Remove the lid from the fresh water reservoir.
ATTENTION
Risk of damage. Ensure that no liquid enters the intake port of the suction turbine under the waste water tank. Wipe up spilled liquid.
→ Fill in fresh water (maximum 50 °C). Observe the maximum filling level indicator. Leave room for detergent.
→ Add detergent. Follow dosing instructions for detergent.

Detergents are available in specialised stores.
→ Close the cover of the fresh water reservoir.
Settings
→ Release the star knob for the height adjustment of the steering wheel.
→ Adjust the steering wheel to the desired height.
→ Tighten the star handle.
Adjusting the brush contact pressure
→ Push the appliance to the work station.
→ Unfold the parking support.
→ Adjust the twist grip to a brush contact pressure suitable for the type of carpet as follows:

→ Fold the parking support in.
→ Switch on the appliance on the carpet to be cleaned.
If support is present while the brush drive is being pushed forward, the adjustment is correct.
→ If no support is noticeable when you push, increase the setting and repeat the procedure.
→ If the indicator lamp for the brush drive shows a malfunction after a few seconds of operation, reduce the setting.
Maximum operating duration
A pause in operation of 10 minutes must be adhered to after the maximum operating duration so the device can cool down.

During the pause in operation, the waste water tank and the coarse dirt container can be emptied, the brushes checked and the fresh water tank topped up.
Cleaning
ATTENTION
Risk of damage to the floor covering. Do not operate the appliance on the spot.
→ Attach the extension cable to the cable clips for strain relief.
→ First connect the extension cable to the mains and then connect it to the mains socket.
→ Turn the programme selector switch to the desired function.
→ Switch on the detergent solution switch if necessary.
→ Pull the safety switch towards the steering wheel, the brush drive and the application of the cleaning solution are switched on (if preset).
→ Push the appliance forward until the parking stand folds up and the cleaning head touches the ground.
→ Move the appliance over the surface to be cleaned.
→ While working, keep an eye on the sight glass for airflow. If water or foam is visible, switch off the appliance immediately. Empty the waste water tank or add defoamers to the waste water tank.
Note:
If the brush rotation direction switch on the steering wheel is actuated, the appliance also moves backwards.
Use the right side for cleaning close to the edge.
If the brush drive indicator light is flashing red after a short operating period, reduce the brush contact pressure.
Additional tool (option)

→ Turn the steering wheel to reverse movement.
→ Pull out the suction hose from the vacuum bar.
→ Connect the suction hose of the appliance to the suction hose of the additional tool.
→ Connect the hose for the detergent solution of the additional tool to the coupling on the cleaning head.
→ Turn the programme selection switch to the additional tool position.
→ Switch on "Detergent" button.
→ Perform cleaning with the additional tool.
Shutting Down the Appliance
→ Release the safety switch.
→ Drive the appliance forward for another 1-2 m to draw off residual water.
→ Set the programme selector switch to "OFF".
ATTENTION
The brush can be permanently deformed. Always set the appliance down with the parking support folded out.
→ Unfold the parking support.
Emptying the waste Water tank
△WARNING
Please observe the local provisions regarding the wastewater treatment.
→ Set the programme selector switch to "OFF".
→ Fold the parking support in.
→ Remove the cover of the waste water tank.
→ Take the waste water drain hose out of the support and lower it over a suitable collecting device.
→ Crush or bend the dosing equipment.
→ Open the lid of the dosing equipment.
→ Let off dirt water by opening the dosag device at the discharge hose.
The wastewater flow can be controlled by squeezing the dosing unit.
→ Rinse the dirt water reservoir with clea water.
Note:
The waste water tank can also be removed and carried separately to the disposal facility.
Emptying the Fresh Water Tank
△WARNING
Please observe the local provisions regarding the wastewater treatment.
→ Push down the coupling to drain the fresh water.
→ Pull off the hose and swivel it down.
Frost protection
In case of danger of frost:
→ Empty the fresh and dirt water reservoirs.
→ Store the appliance in a frost-protected room.
Folding down the steering column
To reduce the space requirements for transport and storage, the steering column can be folded down.
→ Release the star knob for the transport position.
→ Swivel the steering wheel forwards.
→ Tighten the star handle.
Transport
△CAUTION
Risk of personal injury or damage! Mind the weight of the appliance during transport.
→ Remove the brush to avoid damage to the brushes.
→ When transporting in vehicles, secure the appliance according to the guidelines from slipping and tipping over.
Transport on stairs
→ Adjust the steering wheel to the highest position.
→ One person holds the appliance by the two front handles under the fresh water tank.
→ The second person holds the appliance by the steering wheel.
Note:
Do not carry the appliance by the cleaning head, as this can cause the appliance to swing around the steering column.
Storage
△CAUTION
Risk of personal injury or damage! Consider the weight of the appliance when storing it.
This appliance must only be stored in interior rooms.
Care and maintenance
⚠️DANGER
Risk of electric shock.
Prior to all work on the appliance, switch off the appliance and pull the power plug.
ATTENTION
Risk of damage for the appliance due to leaking water. Drain the wastewater and remaining fresh water prior to performing tasks on the appliance.
→ Park the machine on an even surface.
Maintenance schedule
Before starting work
→ Check the mains connection cable for damages. Replace the defective mains cable.
→ Check spray pattern of the nozzles.
After the work
ATTENTION
Risk of damage. Do not sluice the appliance with water and do not use aggressive detergents.
→ Drain off dirt water.
→ Rinse the waste tank and lid with clear water.
→ Clean and check the seals between the waste water tank and the lid and between the waste water tank and the fresh water tank.
→ Clean sieve with the float ball in the waste water tank.
→ Clean brush.
→ Check the brush for wear and replace if required (see "Maintenance tasks").
→ Remove bulk waste container and empty it.
→ Rinse out the suction hose.
→ Clean the suction bar and check its ease of movement.
→ Rinse the fresh water tank and spray system with about 5 litres of clear water.
→ Run the suction turbine for at least 1 minute.
→ Clean the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth which has been soaked in mild detergent.
→ Clean the vacuum bar, check for wear and replace if necessary.
→ Always store the appliance with the waste water tank lid open.
Weekly
→ Take out the brush and clean it thoroughly.
→ Check status and correct seating of all seals.
→ Clean the sight glass for waste water.
→ Check the vacuum bar for damages.
→ Clean the wheels under the cleaning head.
→ Clean the fresh water filter.
Quarterly
→ Have the prescribed inspection carried out by the customer service.
Maintenance Works
Rinsing out the suction hose

→ Remove the waste water tank.
→ Insert the water hose into the suction hose.
ATTENTION
Risk of damage. Ensure that no water enters the suction turbine suction channel.
→ Rinse the suction hose and suction bar with a strong water stream.
Clean the vacuum bar

→ Remove the waste water tank.
→ Turn the steering wheel to reverse movement.
→ Tilt the appliance rearward.
→ Pull out the suction hose from the vacuum bar.
→ Release both clips.
→ Remove the vacuum bar.
→ Open the rotatable brackets and take off the cleaning nozzle.
Replacing the brush roller
The brush must be replaced if it is so heavily worn that the front edge of the cleaning head touches the ground.
→ Remove the waste water tank.
→ Tilt the appliance rearward.
→ Press the release button for the brush roller and swivel the brush roller toward the bottom and pull it off the driver.
→ Place the new brush roller on the drive and lock into place on the opposite side
Maintenance contract
To ensure a reliable operation of the appliance maintenance contracts can be concluded with the competent Kärcher sales office.
