Pressure controller
The pressure controller keeps the pressure in the steam boiler as constant as possible during operation. The heating is switched off when the maximum operating pressure is reached in the steam boiler and is activated if there is a pressure drop in the steam boiler as a result of a steam removal.
Safety thermostat
The safety thermostat prevents the device from overheating. If the pressure regulator and the boiler thermostat fail and the unit overheats, the safety thermostat switches the unit off. Before resetting of the safety thermostat, contact the responsible KÄRCHER Customer Service.
Boiler thermostat
The boiler thermostat switches off the heating in the event of a fault; for example, if there is no water in the steam boiler and the temperature in the steam boiler rises.
As soon as you refill the water, the device is ready for use again.
Maintenance lock
The maintenance lock seals the steam boiler from the steam pressure present. The maintenance cap is also a pressure relief valve. If the pressure regulator is defective and the steam pressure in the steam boiler rises, the pressure relief valve opens and steam escapes through the lock.

- To clean these surfaces, steam a cloth briefly and use it to wipe over the surfaces.
Glass cleaner
ATTENTION
Glass breakages and damaged surfaces
Steam can damage sealed points of the window frame and, at low outside temperatures, lead to tension on the surface of window panes and hence to glass breakages. Do not direct the steam at sealed points on the window frame.
At low outside temperatures, heat up the window panes by gently steaming the full surface of the glass.
- Clean the window area with a manual nozzle and cover. To remove the water, use a squeezegee or wipe the surfaces dry.
How to use the Accessories
Steam gun
The steam gun can be used for the following applications without accessories:
- For removing slight creases from hanging clothing items: Steam the clothing item from a distance of 10-20 cm.
- For wiping damp dust: Steam a cloth briefly and use it to wipe over the furniture.
Spotlight nozzle
The spotlight nozzle is suitable for cleaning areas, joins, fittings, drains, sinks, WCs, blinds, or radiators that are difficult to access. The closer the spotlight nozzle is to the soiled area, the greater the cleaning efficiency will be, as the temperature and steam volume are at their highest at the nozzle opening. Larger lime deposits can be treated before steam cleaning with a suitable detergent. Allow the detergent to soak in for approximately 5 minutes and then steam it off.
- Slide the spotlight nozzle onto the steam gun.

Iron steam pressure
Note
We recommend using the KÄRCHER ironing board with active steam suctioning. This ironing board is optimally matched to the device you have acquired. It facilitates and speeds up the ironing process. In any case, the ironing board used should have a steam-permeable, grid-like ironing base surface.
Note
It should be noted that in the case of an ironing board without steam extraction, it is possible for an ironing board cover to become wet if condensate accumulates.
Initial startup of steam pressure iron
ATTENTION
Ironing may cause condensation to drip on the floor and damage sensitive floor coverings.
If possible, perform ironing tasks on a floor covering which is insensitive to condensation (e.g. tiles/stone).
For sensitive floor covering, ensure that the area on which condensation can drip is adequately protected (e.g. water-impermeable floor mat).
Note
The iron plate must be hot to prevent steam from condensing on the sole plate and dripping onto the ironing laundry.
- Ensure that tap water or a mixture of tap water and no more than 50% distilled water is in the steam boiler of the steam cleaner.
- Insert the steam plug of the iron into the unit plug until it clicks into place.
- Putting the steam cleaner into operation, see chapter Switching on the device.
- Wait until the steam cleaner is ready for use.

We recommend checking the device before cleaning the upper part with a brush or vacuum cleaner. This will allow you to remove dust and small particles from it before cleaning with steam.
Cleaning the lower part of the fabric
The device is intended for checking the color fastness of fabrics to non-permanent factors: treat the fabric sample, let it dry, and then check the item for color change or shape.
Surfaces with lacquer or other coatings
ATTENTION
Damage to surfaces
Steam can damage varnish, furniture polish, synthetic coatings, and fabrics, as well as stickers on edges.
Do not direct steam at the edges of the furniture, as this may cause damage to the stickers.
Do not use the device for cleaning veneered wooden or parquet floors.
Do not use the device for cleaning surfaces with lacquer or synthetic coatings.
Coatings, especially furniture made of veneer or parquet, may be damaged.
- To clean such surfaces, apply a small amount of steam to the fabric, then wipe the necessary surfaces.
Cleaning
ATTENTION
Risk of damage to surfaces
Steam can damage the adhesive joints of the window frame, and at low ambient temperatures it can cause stress on the surface of the window glass and even lead to cracking.
Do not direct steam at the adhesive joints of the window frame.
The steam temperature of the heated surface should be checked before cleaning.
Clean the window surface with a hand sprayer and a cloth. Wipe the water from the glass using a window squeegee or dry with a cloth.
Application
Steam pistol
The steam pistol can be used for the intended tasks without any additional accessories:
- Removing light stains on glass, such as fingerprints: spray directly from a distance of 10-20 cm. To control the steam amount: press the steam trigger and wipe the glass with a cloth.
Nozzle with concentrated jet
The nozzle with concentrated jet is designed for cleaning hard-to-reach areas, joints, fittings, drain pipes, sinks, toilets, radiators, and heating elements. The closer the nozzle with concentrated jet is to the dirty area, the better the cleaning efficiency, because at the nozzle outlet the steam temperature and amount are maximum. Strong deposits can be treated before cleaning with steam using a suitable cleaning agent. Leave the cleaning agent on the surface for about 5 minutes, then remove it with steam.
- Attach the nozzle with concentrated jet to the steam pistol.
Figure J
Do not clean varnished surfaces.

Nozzle for floors
The floor nozzle is designed for cleaning floor coverings that can be washed (parquet, laminate, tiles, and floors made of PVC).
ATTENTION
Damage possible only when
High temperatures can cause damage.
Before use, check the resistance and suitability for steam on an inconspicuous area with the least amount of steam.
Instructions
Protective agents or cleaning agents for the surface to be cleaned during cleaning can lead to the formation of vapors that are hazardous to health.
We recommend using the device only with a steam iron or steamer. This will allow you to remove dirt and stubborn stains before steam cleaning. On heavily soiled surfaces, work thoroughly, allowing the steam to contact the surface longer.
1. Attach the extension hose to the steam pistol.

Fixed optimal temperature setting should be selected for the type of fabric being ironed, suitable for processing with steam, without additional regulation.
Fabrics and their prints should be ironed on the reverse side, without direct contact with steam. Fibers carefully
treated with steam at a distance of 2-3 cm from the fabric.
The iron is equipped with an automatic shut-off system that turns off the appliance if it has not been moved for more than 5 minutes. This automatic shut-off system ensures safety and saves energy, preventing continuous steam emission. The iron turns on as soon as it is moved, and steam emission resumes.
For vertical steaming of curtains, suits, or fabrics, the iron can be held vertically.
1. Check the heating indicator light (orange) – when it is on, you can start ironing. 2. Press the steam button on the handle downwards. Steam will come out as long as the button is pressed. 3. Before starting ironing and after each pause in ironing, direct the steam jet onto a cloth until the steam supply becomes even.
