USER MANUAL Bdry 0616 ARIETE

The necessary precautions must be taken when using electrical appliances, and these include the following: Make sure that the voltage on the appliance rating plate corresponds to that of 1. the mains electricity. Never leave the appliance unattended when connected to the power supply; 2. unplug it after every use. Never place the appliance on or close to sources of heat.3. Always place the appliance on a flat, level surface during use.4. Never leave the appliance exposed to the elements (rain, sun, etc....).5. Make sure that the power cord does not come into contact with hot surfaces.6. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and 7. persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experi- ence and knowledge only if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Do not allow children to play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Children under age 8 should not be allowed to handle appliance and its power 8. cord which must be kept out of their reach. Never place the appliance body, plug or power cord in water or other liquids; 9. always wipe clean with a damp cloth. Always unplug the power cord from the electricity mains before fitting or remov-10. ing single attachments or before cleaning the appliance. Always make sure that your hands are thoroughly dry before using or adjust-11. ing the switches on the appliance, or before touching the power plug or power connections. To unplug the appliance, grip the plug and remove it directly from the power 12. socket. Never pull the power cord to unplug the appliance. Do not use the appliance if the power cord or plug are damaged or if the appli-13. ance itself is faulty; all repairs, including substitution of power cord, must be carried out exclusively by an Ariete assistance centre or by authorized Ariete technicians in order to avoid all risks. In case of using extension leads, these must be suitable for the appliance power to 14.EN

avoid danger to the operator and for the safety of the environment in which the appli- ance is being used. Extension leads, if not suitable, can cause operating anomalies. Never allow the cord to dangle in places where it may be grabbed by a child.15. Do not threaten the safety of the appliance by using parts that are not original 16. or which have not been approved by the manufacturer. This appliance is designed for HOME USE ONLY and may not be used for com-17. mercial or industrial purposes. This appliance conforms to the directives 2014/35/EU and EMC 2014/30/EU, 18. and to the regulations (EC) No. 1935/2004 of 27/10/2004 regarding material in contact with foods. Any changes to this product that have not been expressly authorised by the 19. manufacturer may lead to the user’s guarantee being rendered null and void. In the event that you decide to dispose of the appliance, we advise you to make 20. it inoperative by cutting off the power cord. We also recommend that any parts that could be dangerous be rendered harmless, especially for children, who may play with the appliance or its parts. Packaging must never be left within the reach of children since it is potentially 21. dangerous. During use, place the appliance on a heatproof surface to prevent burns.22. Do not operate the appliance for more than continuous 40 hours. After use, 23. switch the appliance off, disconnect it and allow it to cool down. Keep the appliance out of water. Do not switch the appliance on if its surfaces 24. are wet. Do not move appliance while operating.25. During operation, the lid, the baskets, and the external surface of the appliance 26. may get very hot. Make sure the appliance has cooled down before removing the parts. Never place the appliance in proximity of curtains, underneath shelves or cabi-27. nets, or close to anything that may be damaged during operation. Do not place anything on the appliance while operating. 28. Do not use metal spoons inside the container.29. Mount on the appliance only the attachments or the parts supplied.30. The appliance must not be energised with external timers or separate remote 31. controls. Do not use the appliance for purposes other than the ones that it was designed 32. for, described below in this instruction manual.EN

APPLIANCE DESCRIPTION (Fig. 1) A Lid B Basket C Appliance body D ON/OFF switch (I/O) E Temperature adjusting dial Dehydration of products is an effective preservation way. Hot air of a fixed adjustable temperature circulates freely inside the appliance between the lid and the baskets, thus allowing an even drying of products with a minimum loss of healthy vitamins. Therefore, it is possible to enjoy fruit, vegetable and mushrooms, medicinal plants or prepare cereals.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

ATTENTION: Before using the appliance, it is recommended to wash all removable parts that will be in contact with food using water and common dish detergent. - Position the previously prepared products into the baskets (B). Note: Do not put too many products into one basket and do not place them one on top of another to allow free circulation of air among them. It is advisable to put all baskets on the appliance during use, regardless of the number of baskets used. - Position the baskets (B) used one on top of another (C) (Fig. 2), making sure they are stable. - Put the lid (A) on the upper basket (Fig. 3). - Plug the appliance in and switch it on by bringing the switch (D) to position “I”; the indicator light will turn on red. - By rotating the apposite dial (E), set the dehydrating temperature. Hereunder are some tips for the temperature mode: Herbs 35-40 °C Bread 40-50°C Yoghurt 45°C Vegetables 50-55°C Fruit 55-60°C Fish / Meat 65-70°C - After use, turn the appliance off by bringing the switch to “O” and disconnect it from mains outlet. Allow it to cool down and position the dehydrated products into a container for food preservation. Put the container into the freezer. ATTENTION: The lid (A) must be always inserted into its place during operation. Do not use baskets if wet.EN

Do not operate the appliance for more than continuous 40 hours. Do not use the appliance with hot products into the baskets.

TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS

- Wash the products before inserting them into the baskets. Do not put wet products into the appli- ance. - Cut the non-edible parts of the products. Cut the products in order to position them freely into the baskets without overlapping them. The dehydrating duration depends on the piece thickness. - To prevent a too long dehydrating time, it is advisable to boil vegetable for 1-2 minutes first and then to put them in cold water. - FRUIT can be dried after having peeled it, pure or with lemon/apple juice to prevent it from loosing colour. IT is possible to add cinnamon for a more pleasant smell. - After dehydration of medical plants, it is advisable to put them in paper bags or glass cans and store them in a dark and fresh place. - Before dehydration, prepare poultry in advance. It is advisable to boil or fry it. - It is advisable to boil or cook fish before proceeding with dehydration (cook for about 20 minutes at a temperature of 200°C). - The containers for storing the dried products must be clean and dry. - For a better preservation of dried fruit, use glass containers with metal covers and put them in a dark and fresh place at a temperature between 5°C and 20°C. - During the first week after dehydration, check whether there is humidity in the container. If the products are dried properly, proceed with a new dehydrating cycle. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

- Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down before cleaning or store it. - Use a damp, clean cloth to clean the internal and external side of the appliance body. - The lid and the baskets must be washed by hand with hot water and mild detergent.

The removable parts can be put also in the dishwasher; anyway, using the dishwasher may alter the surface finishing. The damage would have to be only aesthetic and would not have to modify the appliance operation. Do not use metal brushes, abrasive and pure detergents for cleaning the appliance, since they can damage the surface.FR
