9 ■ Overheating protection This appliance is fitted with overheating protec- tion. If the motor overheats due to overloading, the appliance switches itself off automatically. The overheat lamp 4 lights up permanently red until the motor has cooled down sufficiently. ♦ Allow the appliance to cool down for about 30 minutes. ♦ Replace the plug 1 in the mains power socket. ♦ Switch the appliance on by moving the
switch 2 to the AUTO position. The overheat lamp 4 no longer lights up once the appliance has cooled down sufficiently. Emptying the waste collector WARNING! ► Remove the power plug 1 from the power socket to prevent the appliance from acci- dentally switching on. Note ► Empty the waste collector 0 regularly to prevent the shredded material from being drawn into the cutting blades from below. ► Dispose of the waste material in an environ- mentally-responsible manner. ♦ Hold the cutter attachment 5 by the two integrated carrying recesses 7 on the left and right and pull it off the waste collector0. ♦ Empty the waste collector
♦ Hold the cutter attachment 5 by the two in- tegrated carrying recesses 7 and position it over the waste collector 0 so that the power cable 1 points backwards and the viewing window 9 in the waste collector 0 points forwards (see fig. 2). Lubricating the cutting head If you are no longer satisfied with the performance of the shredder (e.g. if paper jams occur frequent- ly), use the supplied lubricating sheet q, which is specially designed for lubricating shredders. The lubricating sheet q lubricates the cutting head and frees paper debris from the blades, thus maintaining the performance of the shredder. Follow the instructions below: ♦ Empty the waste collector
♦ Move the REV/OFF/AUTO/FWD switch 2 to the AUTO position. ♦ Insert the lubricating sheet q into the cutter opening 8 in the direction of the arrow. Wait until the lubricating sheet q has run completely through the cutting head. ♦ Move the REV/OFF/AUTO/FWD switch 2 to the REV position and let the shredder run backwards for 10 seconds. ♦ After 10 seconds, move the REV/OFF/ AUTO/FWD switch 2 to the OFF position to switch the appliance off. ♦ The cutting head is now lubricated, and the shredder is ready for use again. Note ► Empty the waste collector 0 before using it again, and dispose of the waste material in an environmentally responsible manner. IB_484157_2501_TAV300A3_LB8.indb 9 14.05.2025 13:09:27■ 10

paper). ♦ Move the REV/OFF/AUTO/FWD switch 2 to the REV position if the paper causes a blockage. The appliance now goes into reverse and the material is ejected. ♦ Alternatively, move the REV/OFF/AUTO/ FWD switch 2 to the FWD position if the paper causes a blockage. The appliance is now in forwards operation and the material that is being shredded is pulled in again. ♦ Pull the paper out of the appliance and then move the REV/OFF/AUTO/FWD switch 2 to AUTO. The appliance is now ready for use again. If the appliance suddenly stops working This means that the appliance has overheated and the automatic safety cut-out has activated itself.
