USER MANUAL RCR4635UMP ROADSTAR
- Your new unit was manufactured and assem- bled under strict ROADSTAR quality control. Thank you for purchasing our product for your music enjoyment. Before operating the unit, please read this instruction manual ca- refully. Keep it also handy for further future references.
POWER SOURCES AC POWER: You can power your portable stereo system by plugging the AC power cord into the AC plug (19) at the back of the unit and into a wall AC power outlet. Check that the rated voltage of your appliance matches your local voltage. Make sure that the AC power cord is fully inserted into the appliance. BATTERY POWER: To use the radio with batteries, disconnect the AC power cord and insert 6 × “UM2” batteries into the compartment (10). Be sure that the batteries are inserted correctly to avoid damage to the appliance. Remove the batteries when the radio will not be used for a long period of time, as this will cause leakage to the batteries and subsequently damage to your radio.
Press [SOURCE] button (2) to turn on the unit. Press and hold [SOURCE] button (2) pressed for approx 3 seconds to turn off the unit. In CD/USB/TAPE mode, the unit will enter STANDBY mode automatically when there is no audio output for around 10 minutes.2 English PRECAUTION INSTRUCTIONS - All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the radio is operated. The manual should be retained for future reference. HEED WARNINGS - All warnings on the appliance and in the operating instructions should be adhered to. WATER AND MOISTURE - The appliance should not be used near liquids or in rooms with a high level of humidity. VENTILATION - The appliance should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere with its proper ventilation. HEAT - The appliance should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, stoves or other appliances that produce heat. POWER SOURCE - The radio should be connected to power supply only of the type described in the operating instructions or as marked on the appliance. POWER CORD PROTECTION - Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon/against them. OBJECT AND LIQUID ENTRY - Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure through openings.
DAMAGE REQUIRING SERVICE
The appliance should be serviced by qualified service personnel when: The power supply cord or plug has been damaged; Objects have fallen into or liquids has been spilled into the radio; The appliance has been exposed to rain; The appliance has been dropped or the enclosure damaged; The appliance does not appear to operate normally. SERVICING - The user should not attempt to service the appliance beyond that de- scrive in the user operating instructions. All the servicing should be referred to quali- fied service personnel Note: If the display does not function properly or no reaction to operation of any con- trol may due to the electrostatic discharge. Switch off and disconnect the AC cord and remove all the batteries, then turn the power back on after a few seconds. RADIO Select the RADIO mode with the [SOURCE] (2) button, until FM frequency is shown in the display. Adjust radio frequency to your desired station as follows: MANUAL SCAN: Use the [SKIP / TUN -/+] (5/6)buttons to fine tune your desired sta- tion or press and hold the [SKIP / TUN -/+] (5/6) buttons to scan the next/previous available station. Preset station: Automatic Preset: Press and hold the [PLAY/PAUSE] (11) button on unit for about 2-3 seconds to start the automatic preset process. Display will show the memory sequence number and radio stations will be automati- cally preset into the sequence number (Note: Each sequence number means 1 preset station while during automatic preset process.) Once all the stations were automatic preset, press the [PLAY/PAUSE] (4) button, each time the key is pressed, it switches to the next PRESET (01,02,03 etc.)3 English Manual Preset: Use the above “Manual scan for radio stations” method to choose your desired radio stations. Press and hold [MODE] (11) button. “P01” (Storage space) and the notification “PROG” will appear in the display. Use the [SKIP+ / TUN+] or [SKIP- / TUN-] (5-6) buttons to select the memory slot (P01 - P30) and then press the [MODE] (11) button to confirm. The desired radio stations will be saved at your requested memory slot. Press the [PLAY/PAUSE] (4) button, each time the key is pressed, it switches to the next PRESET (01,02,03 etc.) TAPE OPERATION Select “TAPE” mode by pressing the [SOURCE] (2) button; Press [STOP/EJECT] (15.2) button to open the cassette door (12) and insert your tape; Close the cassette door (12); Press [PLAY] (15.5) button to start playing tape. Press [PAUSE] (15.1) button when you want to stop playing tape operation temporari- ly, press again to resume tape operation. Press [STOP/EJECT] (15.2) button when finished, press again to open the cassette door. Press [F.FWD] (15.3) button or [RWD] (15.4) button to start rapid tape winding for- ward / reverse direction. CD-MP3 OPERATION Select the CD mode with the [SOURCE] (2) button, until “Cd” is shown in the display. Insert an audio CD with the printed side facing upwards and then close the lid of the CD compartment. In order to remove a CD, please press the [STOP] (4) button, open the CD com- partment and lift the CD out carefully. REPEAT/RANDOM: Press [MODE] (11) button 1 time to REPEAT track Press [MODE] (11) button 2 times to REPEAT ALBUM Press [MODE] (11) button 3 times to REPEAT ALL Press [MODE] (11) button 4 times to RANDOM tracks Press [MODE] (11) button 5 times to delete function TRACK PROGRAM: Stop CD playing. Press [MODE] (11) button, “P01” & Progr will be flash on LCD. Press and hold [MODE] (11) button. “P01” (Storage space) and the notification “PROG” will appear in the display. Use the [SKIP+ / TUN+] or [SKIP- / TUN-] (5-6) buttons to select the memory slot (P01 - P30) and then press the [MODE] (11) button to confirm. Press the [PLAY/PAUSE] (4) button, program tracks will be played.4 English USB OPERATION Select “USB” mode by pressing the [FUNCTION] (2) button; Plug an USB device into the [USB SOCKET] (16); Playback will start automatically from the first track. CD operation are same as USB operation. Note: Some mp3 player may not be able to play via the usb socket. this is not a maul- function of the system. Note: To avoid damage to USB memory, remove it only when the radio is turned off.
Select “AUX” mode by pressing the [FUNCTION] (2)button; Use one male to male 3.5mm jack cable (not included) to connect any external au- dio device to the AUX-IN socket (17).
