InstructIon manual We thank you for buying the LANAFORM® Baby Scale. Precise and easy to use, the digital Baby Scale allows you to weigh your baby with a precision of 5 grammas. What’s more, thanks to its new technology, you can also obtain the weight of the nutrition you gave your baby. Its platform with concave shape also allows you to use it as a nursery table. The Baby Scale is a useful apparatus for you and your baby in the course of the first months of his existence. PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR BABY SCALE, ESPECIALLY THESE FEW FUNDAMENTAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:

• Never leave your baby unattended while using your Baby Scale.

• The scale is not satisfactory for babies of more than 18 kegs. An overload can be the cause of damages and risks.

• Always put the Baby Scale on a hard surface, flat and horizontal, keep away from sources of heat such as stoves, radiators, etc.

• Never use this apparatus in a room where aerosol (sprays) are being used or in a room where oxygen is administered.

• Do not use the apparatus in the proximity of humid zones, like the bathtub, the sink, etc.

• Do not submerge the apparatus in water or any other liquid.

• When the scale is functioning, keep it away from electromagnetic waves, like microwave ovens, mobile phones and cordless networks, because the weighing would risk being erroneous.

• In order to avoid risks of electrocution, do not attempt to repair the apparatus yourself.

• In case of electrostatic malfunction, reinstall the batteries in order to get normal performances.

• If the screen indicates the error message « Err », turn off the scale. Then turn it on again and follow the instructions.

• Never leave anything on the scale’s platform when you are not using it.

• The scale turns itself off automatically one minute after activation when not being used. To turn the scale off immediately, push the button “ ” during approximately half a second.

• This apparatus is not intended to be used by persons, including children, whose physical, sensory or mental capacities are limited, or persons without experience or knowledge, unless they have the advantage of, by mediation of a person responsible of their security, a supervision or preceding instructions regarding the use of the apparatus. It is convenient to keep an eye on the children to make sure they don’t play with the apparatus.

1. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS :

- Capacity: 0, 02 kg - 18 kg. - Graduations: 5 grammas. - Function Tare. - LCD screen retro-lit. - Function of modification of unit of weight (Kg/Lb:oz). - Function of memorization of the last weighing. - Indicator light for low battery; the battery icon blinks “ ” when the level of the battery is low. - Automatic shutdown of tension. - Batteries: 2 batteries AA (not supplied). - Size of the screen: 69 (L) x 32, 5 (l) mm. - Dimensions of the apparatus: 540 (L) x 345 (l) x 57 (H) mm. - Net weight of the apparatus: 1, 95 kg. - Environment of storage: from -10°C to 55°C. - Environment of functioning: from 10°C to 40°C. - Precision of weight measures:

1) Installation of the battery.

Remove the lid of the battery compartment located under the scale. Insert two new batteries AA (not supplied). Position the batteries observing the marks « + » and « - » inside the compartment. Put the lid back on.

2) Put the scale on a flat and hard surface to weigh the baby.

3) Before you put the baby on the scale, be sure that the surface of the scale is perfectly dry and non-slippery. You can also put a towel on the scale.

4. FUNCTION NORMAL WEIGHING :

1) Push the button “ ” to turn on the scale. Four bars and the battery icon are displayed.

2) 0.000 kg (0:0 lb:oz is displayed if the unit lb:oz pounds: ounces) is selected) and the

battery icon are displayed.

3) Put the baby on the scale. The weight is set when « Hold » appears.

(REMARK: Given that a baby is liable to move, the weight displayed could fluctuate in the course of the weighing. It takes about 15 seconds for the scale to retain a weight of the moving baby and retains this weight. The retained weight is displayed for 10 seconds, after that the scale switches itself off automatically).

1) Push the button “ ”to turn on the scale. Four bars and the battery icon are displayed.

2) 0.000 kg (0:0 lb:oz is displayed if the unit lb:oz (pounds: ounces) is selected) and the

battery icon are displayed.

3) Put a towel on the scale. The weight of the towel will be displayed.

6) REMARK: leave the towel on the scale. If you withdraw the towel from the scale, the

screen will display a negative weight.

7) Put the naked baby on the scale. The baby’s net weight is displayed when « Hold »

appears. The scale turns itself off after 10 seconds.

1) Push the button “ ” to turn on the scale.

2) Before you put the baby on the scale, push the button to select the unit « kg » or « lb: oz ».

3) The defined unit of weight is displayed when the scale is switched on again the next time.

7. “ ” FUNCTION COMPARISON :

1) Before feeding the baby, use the function normal weighing or weighing with a towel to weigh the baby. The baby’s net

weight is locked in when « Hold » appears.

2) Pick up your baby from the scale and feed him.

3) After you have fed the baby, push the button “

” ONCE TO TURN ON THE SCALE.

4) The baby’s weight from before the meal is displayed. (REMARK: this is a negative number.)

5) Put the baby, after feeding, on the scale, the weight of the meal given to the baby is displayed.

Example: if the baby’s weight before the meal is 8.0 kg, this weight of 8.0 kg will be locked in after weighing the baby by means of the function normal weighing or weighing with a towel. Baby Scale 5EN When the button “ ” is pushed « - 8.0 kg » (minus 8.0kg) is displayed. Then put the baby that has been fed, on the scale. The weight of the meal given to the baby is displayed. If the baby has drunk 320 g (weight) of milk, the screen will display

0.32 kg. The total weight of the baby fed with milk is 8.0 kg + 0.32 kg = 8.32 kg. The scale

turns off automatically after 10 seconds.

1) Push the button “ ”, the weight of the last weighing is displayed (this is a negative number).

2) REMARK: The last measure locked in memory will be deleted when new batteries will be inserted.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

- Use a soft and moist cloth to clean the Baby Scale. - Do not use abrasive detergents. - Remove the batteries in case of an extended period of non-use of the apparatus. - Store the apparatus in a dry and secure place. ADvICE REGARDING THE DISPOSAL OF WASTE

• All the packaging is composed of materials that pose no hazard for the environment and which can be disposed of at your local sorting centre to be used as secondary raw materials. The cardboard may be disposed of in a paper recycling bin. The packaging film must be taken to your local sorting and recycling centre.
