USER MANUAL Titan Plus Authentic MAXI-COSI
Congratulations on your purchase. For the maximum protection and comfort of your child, it is essential that you read through the entire manual carefully and follow all instructions.
The Maxi-Cosi Titan Plus has been approved in accordance with the latest European safety standards (ECE R44/04) and is suitable for children from 9 to 36 kg. Category of your car seat: Universal Position of your car seat: forward facing (class size B1)
The Maxi-Cosi Titan Plus must be installed with ISOFIX and Top Tether when your child’s weight is from 9 kg to 18 kg. You can use vehicle belt only, or vehicle belt and ISOGO, or vehicle belt and ISOGO and Top Tether to install the Maxi-Cosi Titan Plus car seat when you child’s weight is 15-36 kg. This car seat is installed by connecting the two ISOFIX connectors and webbing “TOP TETHER” in the anchorage ISOFIX points of the vehicle. Consult the vehicle manual to find the location of ISOFIX anchorages and more information about installing the car seat in the vehicle. This child restraint is classified for “Universal” use and is suitable for fixing into the seat position of the following cars: IMPORTANT: For a complete list of cars, please visit www.maxi-cosi.com/car-fitting-list Before installing your child car seat with the ISOFIX anchorages system you must read the instruction manual of the vehicle. SAFETY The Maxi-Cosi Titan Plus is intended for car use only.
- The car seat is developed for an intensive use of approximately 12 years.
- Do not use any load bearing contact points other than those described in the instructions and marked in the child restraint. Maxi-Cosi Titan Plus in the car
- Before buying this product make sure the car seat is compatible with the vehicle it is to be used in.
- After purchasing, install the seat in your vehicle. If you encounter any installation problems, contact your distributor immediately (prior to use).
- It is recommended to adjust to full recline position before ISOFIX system installation. After correct installation of the ISOFIX connector and top tether, adjust to the proper recline position for your child.
- Remove the car seat headrest if it stops you from adjusting the headrest of the car seat to the desired height.
- Make sure to replace the headrest of the back seat of your vehicle when you remove the car seat.
- Check that the child seat is properly installed. It is important for your child’s safety that you fit the belt correctly. The vehicle belt must be fixed along the appropriated markings/ positioning points on the seat. Please also read the label on the side of the car seat. Never fit the belt in any way other than as shown.
- When the car seat is installed on the front passenger seat, we recommend to switch o the front passenger airbag if your child is sitting in a front-facing position and place the passenger seat in the rearmost position.
- Use the car seat only on a front-facing seat that is fitted with an automatic or static 3-point belt that has been approved according to the ECE R16 standard or similar. Do NOT use a 2-point belt.
- When installing the car seat, spaces between the base of the car seat and the vehicle seat are possible depending on the position of the anchorage points within the vehicle. ATTENTION:
- For usage in ISOFIX use the fitting clips for lower anchorage to the vehicle are not sucient. It is essential to fix the “TOP TETHER” to the upper anchorage point recommended by the car manufacturer.
- The ISOFIX anchors have been developed to obtain a safe and easy fixation of the child safety systems inside the car. Not all cars are equipped with these anchors although they are standard on more recent models.

Maxi-Cosi of the system, the user is advised to contact the distributor or the manufacturer of the child restraining device system.
- When installing the car seat for group 1 with ISOFIX, it is necessary to remove the headrest in order to put the TOP TETHER through correctly. Your child in the Maxi-Cosi Titan Plus
- Make sure you can fit no more than one finger between the harnesses and your child (1cm). If there is more space than 1 cm, tighten the harness belt further.
- Make sure the headrest is adjusted to the proper height. Care Inlay:
- The inlay included in your Maxi-Cosi Titan Plus seat plays an integral part in the eciency of the restraint system for your child from 9 to 13 kg. It can be removed and the cover taken o for washing, but it is essential to place it back again where it belongs and only use this ocial Maxi-Cosi Titan Plus inlay. This inlay is exclusively for use with the Maxi-Cosi Titan Plus seat. Fabric:
- The cover and crotch pad can be removed for washing. If the cover needs to be replaced at any time, only use ocial Maxi-Cosi cover because it constitutes an integral part of the restraint performance.
- For safety reasons, shoulder pads are not removable. Clean it by using a damp cloth. Notice This is a “Universal” child restraint. It is approved to Regulation No. 44, 04 series of amendments, for general use in vehicles and it will fit most, but not all, car seats. A correct fit is likely if the vehicle manufacturer has declared in the vehicle handbook that the vehicle is capable of accepting a “Universal” child restraint for this age group. This child restraint has been classified as “Universal” under more stringent conditions than those which applied to earlier designs which do not carry this notice. If in doubt, consult either the child restraint manufacturer or the retailer. Only suitable if the approved vehicles are fitted with 3 point safety-belts, approved to UN/ECE Regulation No. 16 or other equivalent standards. Seat positions in other cars may also be suitable to accept this Child Restraint. If in doubt, consult either the Child Restraint manufacturer or the retailer. In forward facing position, the seat must be placed on the car rear seat or exceptionally on the front seat in accordance with the legislation in force in the country of use (In France: in accordance with the conditions stipulated in decree n°91-1321 du 27-12-1991). - You are personally responsible for the safety of your child at all times, please read these instructions carefully and make yourself familiar with the product before using it.
- Always keep the instructions for future reference; there is a storage compartment specifically provided on the child seat.
- Do not use second-hand products whose history is unknown. Some parts could be broken, torn or missing.
- For a maximum safety and improved comfort, it is strongly recommended to take o the coat of your child.
- For your own safety and that of your child, always put the child in the child car seat, however short your journey may be.
- Even gentle impact on a vehicle can turn a child into a projectile.
- Never hold your child on your lap when driving.
- Do not make any changes to the car seat whatsoever, as this could lead to unsafe situations.
- Never modify the construction or the materials of the car seat and the seat belt without consulting the manufacturer.
- This Child Restraint Systems is eective only if the instructions for use are respected.
- Please install your car seat only as instructed in the instruction manual. Any other kind of installation might have a negative impact on safety.
- Never leave your child unattended.
- Always secure your child. Ensure that the lap straps are worn low down, so that the pelvis is firmly engaged.
- Always cover the car seat when exposed to direct sunlight in the car. Otherwise, the cover, metal and plastic parts could become too hot for your child’s skin.
- Replace the Child Restraint Systems when it has been subject to the severe forces of an accident: the safety of your child can no longer be guaranteed. ATTENTION:
- In case of belted installation, make sure the straps holding the car seat to the vehicle are tight.
- After putting the child in the car seat, ensure that the harness is suciently tight by pulling the webbing. Before every use, make sure the straps of the harness or the belt are not damaged or twisted.
- The rigid parts and the plastic sections of an Child Restraint Systems device should be positioned and installed in such a way that they cannot, under normal conditions of use of the vehicle, become trapped under a moving seat or in the vehicle door.
- Always fasten the Child Restraint System even when the child is not sitting in it.
- The user must always check that any luggage and other objects likely to cause injury to the occupant of the car seat in the case of impact are properly secured.
- Never place heavy objects on the rear parcel shelf, to avoid the danger of projectiles in the event of an accident.
- Do not use the Child Restraint Systems device without the cover.
- Do not replace the seat cover with a cover other EN62
Maxi-Cosi than that recommended by the manufacturer, because it will have a direct eect on the functioning of the Child Restraint Systems.
- Folding seats must always be locked in place. Care advice
- Before cleaning, check the label sewn into the fabric. You will find the wash symbols indicating the method of washing each item.
- Keep the car seat clean. Do not use lubricants or aggressive cleaning agents.
- Clean the shell using a damp cloth. Environment Keep plastic covering away from children to avoid suocation. For environmental reasons, when you have stopped using this product, we ask that you dispose of the product in the proper waste facilities in accordance with local legislation. Warranty Our 24 months warranty reflects our confidence in the high quality of our design, engineering, production and product performance. We confirm that this product was manufactured in accordance with the current European safety requirements and quality standards which are applicable to this product, and that this product is free from defects on materials and workmanship at the time of purchase. Under the conditions mentioned herein, this warranty may be invoked by consumers in the countries where this product has been sold by a subsidiary of the Dorel Group or by an authorized dealer or retailer. Our 24 months warranty covers all manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship when used in normal conditions and in accordance with our user manual for a period of 24 months from the date of the original retail purchase by the first end-user customer. To request repairs or spare parts under our warranty for defects in materials and workmanship you must present your proof of purchase, made within the 24 months preceding the service request. Our 24 months warranty does not apply to defects caused by normal wear and tear, damage caused by accidents, abusive use, negligence, fire, liquid contact or other external cause, damage which is the consequence of failing to comply with the user manual, damage caused by use with another product, damage caused by service by anyone who is not authorized by us, or if the product is stolen or if any label or identification number has been removed from the product or has been changed. What to do in case of defects: Should problems or defects arise, your first point of contact is the authorized dealer or retailer recognized by us. Our 24 months warranty is recognized by them (1) . You must present your proof of purchase, made within the 24 months preceding the service request. It is easiest if you get your service request pre-approved by us. If you submit a valid claim under this warranty, we may request that you return your product to the authorized dealer or retailer recognized by us or that you ship the product to us in accordance with our instructions. We will pay for shipment and for return freight if all instructions are followed. Damage and/or defects neither covered by our warranty nor by the legal rights of the consumer and/or damage and/or defects with respect to products that are not covered by our warranty can be handled at a reasonable fee.
