How to connect the Kioxia EXCERIA PLUS Portable SSD?

Connect the provided USB cable to the product and to a USB port on your host device (PC, console, tablet, etc.). Make sure the connector is clean and correctly oriented. The indicator light turns on to indicate power.

How to safely disconnect the SSD?

On Windows, click the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon in the taskbar, then select 'Eject KIOXIA'. On Mac, drag the KIOXIA icon to the Trash. Wait for the access indicator to turn off before disconnecting.

Is the SSD compatible with the PS5?

Yes, the Kioxia EXCERIA PLUS Portable SSD is compatible with the PS5 (as well as PS4/PS4 Pro). Simply connect it to the console's USB port to store and play PS4 games or store PS5 games.

How to set up password lock?

Download the SSD Utility software from the Kioxia website (Windows only). Install it, then enable the password lock function. You can set a password to protect access to your data.

Why is the indicator light blinking?

The indicator light blinks during read or write operations. Do not disconnect the SSD while it is blinking to avoid data loss.

What cables are included in the box?

The box contains two cables: a USB Type-C to Type-A cable and a USB Type-C to Type-C cable. This allows connecting the SSD to a wide range of devices.

- Plugging and unplugging

To properly plug the Product into and unplug it from a compatible Host Device, follow the procedure in the user manual of the Host Device.

Plugging:

Plug the Product into a USB port on your Host Device according to the user manual of the Host Device.

Forced plugging can damage or break the Product and/or the USB port.

Orienting the Product properly, plug the Product into a USB port on a Host Device as far as it goes.

The Product will not work properly if plugged poorly or oriented improperly.

Unplugging:

Follow the steps below to unplug the Product from a USB port on a Host Device while the Host Device is up:

* The steps or descriptions may vary depending on the version of operating system.

- Windows

1. Click "Safely Remove Hardware" icon on the taskbar.
2. Click "Remove KIOXIA".
3. Check "Remove Hardware" appearing on the window.
4. Unplug the Product.

- Mac

1. Drag and drop "KIOXIA" icon on the desktop to the trash icon.
2. Check that the "KIOXIA" icon is disappearing and inactive. Unplug the Product.

- Other Host Devices

1. Safely remove the product according to the user manual.

Password lock function

- The password lock function can be used by using “SSD Utility Management Software”. This function is available only on Windows. Please visit our website for information on the required OS version

How to Obtain Service: Your proof of purchase is required to receive warranty service. If the Product fails during normal and proper use within its warranty period, return the Product to your place of purchase for replacement or refund.
