USER MANUAL Exceria Pro G2 Kioxia

Please read the following information carefully before using the product in an appropriate manner and keep this Quick Start Guide for future reference.

For further information, especially to download the safety instructions and this Quick Start Guide, for the latest drivers and firmware as well as the SSD utility storage management software, please visit personal.kioxia.com/support/.

KIOXIA SSD INSTALLATION

If the installation procedure differs from that of your device, follow the installation instructions for your device.

1. To minimize static electricity, touch a metal surface before handling the SSD.
2. Before using accessories like a heatsink, be careful not to remove the labels on the SSD and/or make them illegible.
3. Turn off the PC power and remove all the cables.
4. Remove the PC cover.
5. Remove the battery in case of a laptop.
6. This NVMe SSD requires a motherboard to support the M.2 2280 specification. Check your motherboard manual for M.2 size support. Please consult your motherboard/laptop manual for installation instructions for your particular host platform.

After removing the screw for fixing the NVMe SSD to the motherboard, insert the SSD into the M.2 slot and then reattach the screw to fix the SSD. Do not overtighten it, otherwise the motherboard may be damaged.

1. Install the PC cover, or battery in case of a laptop, and reconnect all the cables in the original way.
2. Please turn on the PC power. The SSD is unformatted at the time of purchase.

Formatting is required before use.

Please contact your operating system (OS) vendor for instructions on how to format the drive.

In some cases, formatting may not be necessary, such as when installing an OS onto the SSD or creating a clone of an existing drive.

Please confirm whether formatting is required in your use case.

Privacy data

• Please confirm details of the privacy policies of KIOXIA, its subsidiaries and affiliates by contacting those companies directly.
• The Product, once directly or indirectly returned to KIOXIA, may be analyzed for quality improvement purposes by KIOXIA or a company that provides components or services for the Product. Data that may still be remaining on the Product will be treated in confidence and will not be shared with any other third party. The returned Product and the data will be destroyed after the analysis.

Export and import

- Any export, re-export, import and re-import of the Product, related software, software (including such as encryption function, but not limited to) you have installed on the Product and data you have written in the Product are strictly prohibited except in compliance with the Japanese Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Law, the U.S. Export Administration Regulations and all applicable export laws and regulations.

DISPOSAL OF PRODUCTS

Warranty Period: Five (5) years from date of Purchase.

How to Obtain Service: Your proof of purchase is required to receive warranty service. If the Product fails during normal and proper use within its warranty period, return the Product to your place of purchase for replacement or refund. If your place of purchase is no longer trading contact the Support Centre.

The return of your product will result in loss of any user-generated data. It includes, but not limited to, for example: music, photos, videos, and other electronic documents. Please ensure you have made a back-up copy of any data saved on your product.

Consumer Guarantees (Australia only)

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:

• to cancel your service contract with us; and
- to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
