- Spread the flowers thinly over the grid(s).
- Om uw gedroogde bloemen te gebruiken voor een potpourri, kutu ze het best in een luchtdichte container bewaren (bij voorkeur glas).

General instructions
Drying Food
Drying food is an efficient method of preserving fruit, vegetables, herbs, meat, etc. Storing dried foods is easy and requires little storage space. The shelf-life can be further extended by storage in airtight containers.
The drying times depend on different factors: such as size, texture of the single pieces, quantities, heating setting, and ambient temperature.
Before checking whether your food has dried sufficiently, you should store it in a cool place for a short time. Dried foods should be solid to the touch. Please ensure that there are no soft areas.
Please note that food which you have produced at home in your food dehydrator may have a different appearance to convenience foods that you buy in the supermarket or organic food shop. The reason for this is that no artificial colourings or preservatives are used in your food dehydrator.
You can also (partially) reverse the drying process by simply soaking the dried fruit or vegetables in cold water or cooking them with other foods.
Drying Fruit and Vegetables
- Please wash the fruit or vegetables thoroughly.
- If necessary, remove any pips, stones and damaged parts.
- Cut and grate the food which you would like to dry into pieces of the required size (e.g. cut apricots in half).
- If required, you can pre-blanch the vegetables and sprinkle the fruit with a little lemon, sugar, cinnamon, honey or grated coconut.
- Fruit with a naturally waxy skin (e.g. grapes and figs) and long cooking times should be blanched.
- Place the fruits on the grid(s) in such a way that the fruits do not touch one another. Each grid can hold approx. three small sliced apples.
Drying Meat
- Remove any fat and gristle from the meat. Then cut the meat into narrow strips.
- Marinate the meat for 6 to 8 hours.
- Place the strips on the grid(s).
Drying Petals and Herbs
- Cut the flowers/herbs in the late afternoon if possible and not early in the morning as there is then too much moisture (dew) on them.
-
Please select flowers or herbs which feel solid and have not completely opened. Flowers which have opened completely lose their petals during the drying process. In the case of herbs you can use both complete stems and individual leaves.
-
Spread the flowers/herbs thinly over the grid(s).
- In order to produce a potpourri from your dry petals, store the dried flowers or petals in an airtight, sealable container (preferably made of glass).
Operation
NOTE:
- Up to 5 grids can be used at the same time.
- The appliance features 2 heating settings.
-
The grids can be stacked on top of each other at two different heights. When doing so, pay attention to the spacers at the outer ring.
-
Carefully stack the grids on top of each other and then close the lid.
- Use the button to switch on the appliance. The left indicator lamp lights up. Heating setting 1 is activated.
- Press the button to select heating setting 2. The right indicator lamp lights up. When pressing again, the system will switch back to heating setting 1 and the right indicator lamp turns off.
Stop operation
To stop operation, press the button. The indicator lamps turn off. Disconnect the mains plug.
Cleaning

WARNING:
- Always remove the mains lead before cleaning!
- Wait until the machine has cooled down completely!
- Under no circumstances should you immerse the device in water for cleaning purposes. Otherwise this might result in an electric shock or fire.

CAUTION:
- Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.
-
Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
-
Clean the housing after use using a slightly moist cloth.
- Make sure that no fluid matter gets into any of the openings of the housing. This might damage the device or result in an electric shock.
- The deposits can be cleaned off by hand in a bowl of water with the unit disconnected from the mains.
