appliance) Important safety instructions ∙ In order to avoid hazards, repairs to this electrical appliance or its power cord must be carried out by our customer service. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to our customer service department (see appendix). ∙ Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely. ∙ The appliance should be cleaned after each cycle of use. ∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with liquids or immerse it. ∙ The blender jug, lid and stopper may be cleaned with hot soapy water. ∙ For detailed information on cleaning the appliance, please refer to the section Cleaning and care. ∙ Caution: The blades used in this appliance GB104 x 142 mm

are extremely sharp. To prevent injuries, take special care when cleaning the appliance and when emptying the blender jug. ∙ Caution: Do not put hot liquid into the blender jug. ∙ Extra care is required when pouring hot liquids into the blender jug in case a jet of vapour should escape from the appliance. ∙ Warning! Use the blender only when the blender jug lid is in the operating position as specied in this manual. ∙ Never reach into the jug with your hand when it is on top of the motor housing. ∙ Make sure you use a suitable tool, such as a spatula, to push food down. ∙ Warning! Any misuse can cause severe personal injury. ∙ Always switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the wall socket, - when there is no supervision, - before opening the lid, - before removing or tting the blender jug, - in case of any malfunction during use, - before cleaning, - after use. ∙ When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself. ∙ This appliance is intended for domestic or similar applications, such as the - staff kitchens in shops, ofces and other similar working environments, - agricultural working environments, - by customers in hotels,12 104 x 142 mm motels etc. and similar accommodation, - in bed-and breakfast type environments. ∙ The appliance may only be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved. ∙ Children must not be permitted to operate the appliance. The appliance and its power cord must be kept well away from children. ∙ Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance. ∙ Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation. ∙ Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment tted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance. ∙ Do not operate the appliance outdoors. ∙ The appliance should only be placed on a level surface. Do not allow the housing or its power cord to come into contact with open ames or any hot surfaces such as hot-plates. ∙ Do not let the power cord hang free. ∙ Keep your hair, hands, and loose clothing away from moving parts, openings, and vents to avoid entanglement. ∙ Do not touch any moving parts during operation - this can be extremely dangerous. ∙ Do not put your hands or any kitchen utensils into the blender jug while the appliance is in operation. ∙ Do not t the blade unit to the motor housing without the blender jug. ∙ The appliance must only be used with the attachments provided by the manufacturer.104 x 142 mm

Before using for the rst time Before the appliance is used for the rst time, the blender jug and lid with stopper should be thoroughly cleaned as described in the section Cleaning and care. Switch settings The following settings can be selected: P The appliance operates at maximum power as long as the rotary control is held in this position 0 The appliance is switched off 1 Low power 2 Maximum power Short-term operation The appliance is designed to process average domestic quantities of food; it can be operated without interruption for a maximum of 3 minutes, after which it should be allowed to cool down to room temperature. Safety switch A special safety switch in the motor housing ensures that the appliance can only be operated if the blender jug is properly locked in position. Before removing the blender jug, make sure that the rotary control is in position 0. This also applies when tting the blender jug to the motor housing. If the control is not in its off-position (0), the motor will start immediately. Operation ∙ Fit the blender jug to motor housing, with its handle to the right, in such a way that the two triangle symbols are aligned. ∙ Put the ingredients into the blender jug. The jug has a maximum capacity of 1500 ml. To avoid possible foaming or spilling when processing foamable or thin liquids such as milk, do not ll the jug over the 1000 ml mark. ∙ Replace the lid and turn clockwise until it is heard locking into place. ∙ Insert the stopper into the lid. ∙ To add ingredients during operation, the stopper in the centre of the lid can be removed. ∙ Caution: Do not operate when the blender jug is empty. Do not ll it with dry items only, such as nuts, almonds etc. ∙ Insert the plug into the wall outlet and use the rotary control to select the required power setting. ∙ After using the blender, switch off and remove the plug from the wall socket. Wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill before removing the blender jug.14 104 x 142 mm Crushing ice Ice-cubes can be easily crushed in the blender jug: Fill the jug a quarter full with ice cubes, and then t it to the motor housing, as described in the section Operation. Put on the lid with the stopper in place, and use the pulse function (P) to operate the appliance for about 2 seconds. Wait until the ice cubes have collected in the bottom of the jug again and then repeat the process, until the cubes have been reduced to the required size. Cleaning and care ∙ Always remove the plug from the wall socket before cleaning the appliance. ∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the motor housing or the power cord with water and do not immerse them in water. The motor housing may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth. ∙ Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions or hard brushes for cleaning. ∙ For cleaning directly after use, ll the blender jug with around 1000 ml of warm water and a little detergent. Let the appliance run for a short period as described in the section Operation. Afterwards, rinse the blender jug, lid and stopper with fresh water. All parts must me thoroughly dried afterwards. ∙ These parts are not dishwasher-safe. ∙ If required, the blade unit for the blender jar can be detached for cleaning (see diagram): ∙ Turn the blender jug upside down and take off the black blade unit by turning it anti-clockwise. Caution: The blades are extremely sharp. ∙ The gasket in the blade unit cannot be removed. ∙ Clean the blade unit with warm, soapy water using a suitable brush. ∙ The blender jug and blade unit must be thoroughly dried. ∙ To re-assemble, t the blade unit to the (still inverted) blender jug and lock it by turning clockwise all the way. Recipes Iced coffee 200 ml cold coffee 100 ml milk (1,5%) 2 tsp dark bitter chocolate, grated 1 tsp caramel sauce 3 ice cubes 1 scoop vanilla ice-cream Put all the ingredients (except the ice- cream) into the blender jug and start mixing them at setting II. The result may be sweetened with sugar, according to taste. Add the ice-cream after the mixing process. Banana chocolate milk-shake 1 banana 400 ml chilled milk 2-3 EL chocolate sauce 4 scoops chocolate ice-cream Peel the banana, cut it into small pieces and puree nely together with the milk.
