USER MANUAL HS 7730 GRUNDIG
Keep the instruction manual for future use. Should a third party be given the unit, please ensure the instruction manual is included.
Never use the appliance for any other purpose than those described in these instructions.
The appliance is designed for domestic use only.
Never use the appliance in the shower, over a wash basin filled with water or near any source of water; nor should it be operated with wet hands.
Do not immerse the appliance in water or let it come into contact with water, even during clean- ing.
If the appliance is used in the bathroom, it is es- sential that you unplug it after use, as any water close to the appliance can still pose a hazard, even if the appliance is switched off.20 ENGLISH SAFETY ________________________________
If not already in use, installing a residual cur- rent-operated protective device (RCD) is recom- mended for additional protection with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA in the electrical circuit of your bathroom. Ask your plumber for advice.
Never cover the appliance, for example with a towel.
Never place the appliance on soft cushions or blankets during operation.
The appliance can become very hot. Do not keep your hair around the curling plates or between the ceramic plates for more than a few seconds.
Do not allow the hot plates to come into contact with your face, neck or head. Do not touch it with your bare hands.
Unplug the appliance after use and before clean- ing. Do not disconnect the plug by pulling on the cord. Place the appliance on a heat resistant sur- face and allow it to cool down.
Never use the appliance if it or the power cord is visibly damaged.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, a service centre or a simi- larly qualified person to avoid any danger of electrical shock.
Make sure that there is no danger that the power cord could be accidentally pulled or that some- one could trip over it when the appliance is in use.
Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Never open the appliance under any circum- stance. No warranty claims are accepted for damage caused by improper handling.
Check if the mains voltage on the type plate (on the handle of the appliance) corresponds to your local mains supply. The only way to disconnect the appliance from the mains is to unplug it.
Never wrap the power cord around the appli- ance.
Never use the appliance in or near to combusti- ble, inflammable places and materials and furni- ture. Do not let the appliance come into contact with or become covered by inflammable materi- als e.g. curtains, textiles, etc. Please make sure that the appliance is always kept a safe distance away from flammable materials and furniture.
Do not use paper, cardboard, plastic, inflamma- ble, unprotected polished surfaces under the ap- pliance.

Straightening plates (5 times ceramic-coated)
Power cord with swivel joint24 ENGLISH OPERATION ___________________________ The appliance has individual tempera- ture control from 80°C to 210°C (+/- 10°C), suitable for any type of hair. Depending on the hair structure, we recommend the following settings:
for fine, porous, coloured, bleached hair: 80 °C to 170 °C
for strong, resistant, thick hair and for professional styling results: 180 °C to 210 °C Preparation Caution
The housing of the appliance be- comes very hot near the heating plates. Do not touch them with your bare hands.
Do not allow the hot plates to come into contact with your skin, face, neck or head.
Make sure your hair is completely dry. Notes

The turbo heating function sets the temperature to 210°C in just 110 seconds by pressing »+«
Memory function: The appliance automatically heats up to the tem- perature level last used after being switched on.

Adjust to the lowest temperature the first time you use it. You can find the level which is suitable for your hair by incrementing the temperature level.
The appliance is able to reach a maximum temperature in 110 sec- onds, 100 °C will be reached after 30 seconds only.
If the appliance is not used for a while after it is heated up, it automati- cally switches off after 60 minutes.
Never leave the appliance un- attended while it is plugged in.
Unplug the power cord after use.
Allow the appliance to cool in a safe place. Ionic function The ionizer emits negative ions, which neutralize your hair‘s static charge. 1 To switch on the ionizer, press the ions button
disap- pears. Styling Options Using your hair styler, you can:
Shape the ends (inwards and out- wards)
Style soft-cascading waves and curls. Straightening hair 1 Comb or brush out a section of your hair about 3 cm wide, starting at the neck. 2 Place the section of hair between the straightening plates
as close to the hair line as you can. Caution
Do not touch the ceramic plates as they are very hot. 3 Close the straightening plates
and then immediately glide the straight- ener down the section of the hair, gently moving from roots to tip. Avoid making kinks in it. Notes
Repeat the procedure section by section.
If you have thick hair, you might have to repeat this procedure on the same section several times.26 ENGLISH OPERATION ___________________________ 4 After use, switch the appliance off by firstly unlocking the temperature lock function by pressing »–«
for 2 sec- onds and secondly pressing the On/ Off button
for 2 seconds. – The LCD display
turns off. 5 Unplug the power cord
from the wall socket. Styling waves or curls 1 Comb or brush out a section of your hair about 3 cm wide. 2 Place the section of hair between the straightening plates
as close to the hair line as you can and close them. 3 Rotate the appliance by 180° so that the hair wraps around it at the height of the heating plates
Curved stainless steel curling plates on top of the surface get warm for optimally support of styling curls and waves. 4 While rotating, slowly pull the appli- ance towards the ends of the hair. – A curl is formed once the appli- ance has been pulled down and over the ends of the hair. Note

For gentle waves just comb the hair once or style it with your fingers until you get the result you like.27ENGLISH INFORMATION ________________________ Cleaning and care 1 Turn the appliance off and unplug the power cord
from the wall socket. 2 Before cleaning, allow the appliance to cool down. The appliance can become very hot and may take up to 45 minutes to cool down. 3 Clean the appliance only with a soft damp cloth. Caution
Never put the appliance or power cord in water or any other liquid. Do not use any cleaning agents.
Always allow the unit to cool down on a flat heat resistant surface. Note
Before using the appliance after cleaning, dry all parts carefully using a dry soft towel. Storage
If you do not plan to use the ap- pliance for a long period of time, please store it carefully.
Make sure that it is unplugged, has completely cooled and is completely dry.
Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance.
Lock the hinge of the appliance by closing the straightening plates and pressing the right side of the hinge lock button
To unlock the hinge of the appliance after storage close the straightening plates and press the left side with .
Keep the appliance in a cool, dry place.
