IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:

• Read through the instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time. Safeguard them for future reference.

• CAUTION: To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electric shock or injury, pay careful attention to the following safety instructions.

• Only to be connected to the voltages stated on the characteristics plate.

• The appliance should be powered via a residual current device (RCD) with a trip setting no higher than 30 mA.

• This appliance has been designed for domestic use only.

• Never use the massage appliance outdoors.

• Only use the massage appliance for the purposes described in this manual. Never use accessories not recommended by the manufacturer.

• This appliance is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with the appliance.

• Do not leave the appliance unattended while it is operating. Be especially careful when it is used by handicapped persons or near children.

• Unplug the appliance from the mains supply when it is not in use and before cleaning it.

• The ON/OFF switch should be in the OFF position when plugging it in or unplugging it.

• Do not place the appliance on top of the bath when it is being used.

• The appliance should be placed out of reach of anyone in the bath.

• Make sure that your hands are dry before touching the switch or unplugging it.

• Do not switch the appliance on if it is covered over by a towel, blanket or pillow. This could cause it to overheat and catch fire, short electrically or cause injuries.

• Never unplug it by tugging on the mains cable. Do not pull on the cable to move the appliance.

• Do not use the mains cable to carry the appliance around or use the cable as a handle.

• Keep the appliance away from heat sources.

• Do not block any of the vents on the appliance or place it on a soft surface, such as a bed or mattress, where the air vents may become obstructed. Keep the vents free from dust, dirt, fluff, etc.

• Never drop or insert objects inside any of the openings.

• Never use spray products while the appliance is operating.

• Do not use close to areas where aerosol sprays are being used or where oxygen is being administered.

• Do not stand while using the appliance, remain seated.

• Do not use it if you feel tired or sleepy.

• NEVER IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.

• Do not attempt to touch the appliance if it has fallen in water. Unplug it immediately.

• Do not store the appliance where it might fall into a bath or washbasin. Do not place it or allow it to fall in water or any other liquid. Store it in a dry place.

• Do not switch the appliance on if either the cable or plug are damaged, if it can be detected that it is not operating correctly or if it has suffered any type of damage.

• Cable repairs and replacements must be carried out exclusively by an Authorised Technical Service Centre. MEDICAL PRECAUTIONS

Do not use the appliance in the following cases: If suffering from tuberculosis, benign or malignant tumours, bleeding, skin inflammations, phlebitis, thrombosis, fresh open wounds or cuts, contusions, broken skin, varicose veins or diffuse pain in the calves.

Consult your doctor if you have any doubts about the appliance’s therapeutic uses.

• Not to be used for longer than 15 minutes. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS: Plug the appliance into the mains supply. Always place the massager on a flat, stable surface. Only to be connected to the voltages stated on the characteristics plate. Automatic mode: Automatically changes the rate of vibration, intensity and speed. No manual adjustments possible for intensity or speed of vibration. Manual mode: The user can select the intensity and speed of vibration. Whenever manual mode is selected the massage speed and intensity of vibration are set to high by default. and [ ] positions. APPLICATIONS Follow the tips below to use the massager correctly: To massage the soles of the feet, sit in a chair and place your feet on the vibrating pads. Focus the massage on the soles to alleviate any stress in the feet. (Figure -1) To massage your legs, lie down and rest your calves on the vibrating pads. (Figure -2) WARNING : Excessive massaging may produce adverse effects Limit massage time to a maximum of 15 minutes. Do not halt the vibration mechanism by pressing down on the pads excessively during massage. MJ6530.indd 7 19/7/06 10:10:48Do not extend the massage session after the 15 minutes of massage, i.e. the maximum time limit for each massage. If you wish to continue with the massage, wait 30 minutes before beginning again. SAFETY DEVICE Excessive, continued use or pressure on the pad may cause an increase in temperature which will trigger the safety device to stop the appliance. In such cases, unplug the mains cable from the wall socket and leave the appliance to cool down for an hour before attempting to reuse it. If the mains cable is left plugged in the vibration produced when it switches itself back on may cause an accident. CLEANING & MAINTENANCE: Unplug the appliance from the mains supply before proceeding to clean it. Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock and/or injury. Do not use water to wash it. This could damage certain electric components or cause accidents. To remove dirt from the main casing, use a slightly dampened cloth. Do not use benzene based solvents or spray cleaners Use cotton balls dampened with alcohol to remove any stubborn stains from the surface of the massage pad. Storage Keep the massager out of children’s reach. Store the massager in a cool dry place, not exposed to direct sunlight. ADVICE ON DISPOSAL: Our goods come in optimised packaging. This basically consists in using non-contaminating materials which should be handed over to the local waste disposal service as secondary raw materials. This product complies with EU Directive 2002/96/CE. The crossed wheelie bin symbol shown on the appliance indicates that when it comes to dispose of the product it must not be included in with household refuse. It must be taken to a special refuse collection point for electric and electronic appliances or returned to the distributor when purchasing a similar appliance. Under current refuse disposal regulations, users who fail to take discarded appliances to special refuse collection points may be penalised. Correct disposal of discarded appliances means that they can be recycled and processed ecologically, helping the environment and allowing materials used in the product to be reused. For more information on available waste disposal schemes contact your local refuse service or the shop where the product was purchased. Manufacturers and importers are responsible for ecological recycling, processing and disposal of products, whether directly or via a public system.
