The glue gun does not heat up.

Check that the device is properly plugged in and that the outlet is working. Also make sure the glue is inserted correctly and that the gun has been on for at least 5 minutes.

The glue does not come out of the gun.

Check that the glue refill is properly inserted. If the gun is stuck, remove the refill and clean the nozzle with a cloth. You can also try gently pulling the trigger while pressing the unlock button.

The glue does not stick properly.

Make sure the surfaces to be glued are clean and dry. Use the gun at an appropriate ambient temperature, usually between 106C and 306C. Also check the glue's expiration date.

The gun overheats.

Turn off the gun immediately and let it cool down. Do not use it for long periods without breaks. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

How do I clean the glue gun?

Unplug the gun and let it cool. Use a damp cloth to clean the outside. For the nozzle, you can heat it slightly to soften glue residues, then remove them with a cloth.

What is the heating time of the gun?

The Meister Craft MHP 2078 S glue gun reaches its optimal operating temperature in about 5 minutes.

Can I use other types of glue with this gun?

Please read these operating instructions before using the tool for the first time and keep them with the tool at all times.

Correct use

The following materials can effectively be joined with each other or among one another: wood, plastic, foam rubber, textiles, cardboard, tile, ceramic, etc. The glue can also be used for closing holes or making joints tight. All other applications are expressively ruled out.

General safety instructions for handling power tools

CAUTION! Read all instructions carefully. Failure to adhere to the following instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. The term „power tool“ as used in the following refers to mains-powered power tools (with mains lead) and battery-powered power tools (without mains lead).

Workplace

• Keep your work area clean and tidy. Untidy, unlit work areas may cause accidents.

• Do not use the appliance in an explosive environment where there may be flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools generate sparks, which may ignite the dust or vapour.

• Do not allow children and other persons near the power tool while it is in use. Distractions may cause you to lose control of the appliance.

Electrical safety

• The mains plug of the appliance must fit the socket. The plug must not be altered in any way. Do not use adaptor plugs with protectively earthed appliances. Unaltered plugs and correctly fitting sockets reduce the risk of electric shock.
• Avoid physical contact with earthed surfaces, such as pipes, heaters, cookers or refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock, if your body is earthed.
• Keep the appliance away from rain and moisture. If water gets into an electrical appliance, there is an increased risk of electric shock.

• Do not use the lead to carry the appliance, hang it up or unplug it from the socket. Keep the lead away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving appliance parts. Damaged or tangled leads increase the risk of electric shock.

• If you use a power tool outdoors, use only extension leads which are approved for such use. The use of an extension lead approved for use outdoors reduces the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety

• Keep alert, watch what you are doing and use the power tool sensibly. Do not use the appliance, if tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A split-second's inattentiveness while using the appliance may result in injuries.

• Wear personal protective equipment and always wear safety goggles. Wearing personal protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-slip safety footwear, a safety helmet or ear protectors, depending on the kind of power tool and the use to which it is put, reduces the risk of injury.
• Avoid starting the tool up accidentally. Make sure that the switch is set to „OFF“ before inserting the plug in the socket. If your finger is on the switch when carrying the appliance or you connect the appliance to the power supply while it is switched on, accidents may result.

• Remove adjusting tools or spanners before switching on the appliance. Tools or spanners left in rotating parts of the appliance may cause injury.

• Do not overestimate yourself. Make sure you are on a safe footing and always keep your balance. That way you can better control the appliance in unexpected situations.

• Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long hair can get caught in moving parts.
• If dust extracting and catching equipment is fitted, make sure that it is connected up and correctly used. Use of this equipment reduces dust hazards.

Careful handling and use of power tools

• Do not overload the appliance. Use for your work the power tool intended for it. Using the correct power tool will enable you to work better and more safely in the specified power range.
• Never use a power tool which has a defective switch. A power tool which cannot be switched on and off is dangerous and must be repaired.
• Unplug the appliance from the mains before adjusting it, changing attachments or putting it aside. This precaution ensures that the appliance will not be started accidentally.
• Keep power tools out of the reach of children, when they are not in use. Do not permit persons to use the appliance, if they

are not familiar with it or have not read these instructions. Power tools are dangerous, if used by inexperienced persons.

• Look after the appliance properly. Check that moving parts are operating properly and are not sticking and that no parts are broken or so badly damaged as to prevent the appliance from operating properly. • Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Carefully maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges jam less frequently and are easier to control.
• Use power tools, accessories, attachments, etc., in accordance with these instructions and the specifications for an appliance of this particular type. Also take into consideration the working conditions and the work to be done. The use of power tools for any application other than those for which it is intended may result in dangerous situations.

• Have your appliance repaired only by qualified specialists and only with original spare parts. This way it is ensured that the appliance remains safe to use.

Safety instructions relating specifically to the equipment

Hot glue and housing parts can cause burns. Avoid skin contact. Avoid all contact with water and materials containing solvents! Only use trade customary gluing pins, e. g. Meister Gluing Pin No. 928110.

CAUTION! Glue stains on clothes cannot be removed. Wear protective glasses. For cooling off the gluing gun always place it on the support. For long breaks unplug the device.

Operation

Mount the device support. Plug the device into the mains. Guide the glue stick into the filling hole until contact is made so that approx. After heating (min. 3-5 min), carefully actuate the lever until glue exits the nozzle, at the same time inserting the second glue stick. Refill gluing pins when necessary. Join the parts together within 15-20 seconds. During breaks always place the device on its support.

Tips for use

Setting time is ca. 30 sec. ca. 90% of the adhesive force already after one minute. The setting time can become lengthened through the processing of thick drops of glue, or shortened

through the processing of small amounts of glue. Large areas should be glued not all at once but in segments. Preheating the surfaces to be joined, e. g. with a hot air blower, increases the adhesive force. Heat-sensitive materials should be checked for their suitability.

Maintenance and environmental protection

CAUTION! Unusable power tools do not belong with domestic waste. They must be taken to a communal collecting point for environmentally friendly disposal in accordance with local regulations.

Service instructions

• Store the machine, operating instructions and where necessary the accessories in the original packaging. In this way you will always have all the information and parts ready to hand.
• MeisterCRAFT devices are to a large extent maintenancefree, a damp cloth being sufficient to clean the casing. Do not drop electrical machines in water. Please note additional hints given in the operating instructions.
• MeisterCRAFT devices are subject to stringent quality control. If however a functional fault

should occur, send the device to our servicing address. The repairs will be carried out in a short time.

• A brief description of the defect speeds up the faulttracing and repair time. If within the guarantee period, please enclose the guarantee document and the proof of purchase.
• In so far as a repair under guarantee is not concerned, we will charge the repair costs to your account.
