Noise emission/vibration

The vibration emission value stated is acc. to EN 60745-2-4. This may also be used for another multi-function tool of the same design and power supply if necessary.

Warning: The actual vibration emission value present during the use of the machine may deviate from the specification given in the operating instructions or determined by the manufacturer. This may be caused by the following influencing factors that should be taken into account prior to and during each use:

• Is the device being used correctly?
  Is the type of material bei processed the right one?
  Is the device in proper working order?
• Are the handles or optional vibration handles mounted and securely fixed to the body of the machine?

If your hands experience an unpleasant sensation or the skin changes colour whilst you are using the machine, stop using the machine immediately. Take sufficient breaks. If you do not take sufficient breaks, this may cause a hand-arm vibration syndrome.

An estimate of the level of load in conjunction with the work or use of the machine should be carried out and breaks set out accordingly. This method can be used to considerably minimise the level of load during the entire working time. Minimise risks, which expose you to vibrations.

Take care of your machinery in accordance with the directions in the operating instructions. If the machine is to be used frequently, contact your dealer and procure anti-vibration equipment (handles) if necessary. Avoid using the tool at temperatures of t = 10^ or lower. Draw up a working schedule, which can be used to minimise vibration loads.

WARNING: A certain amount of noise is unavoidable when using this device. Ensure you carry out noise-intensive work only during permitted times. Maintain the quiet periods and limit your work to the absolute minimum. For the sake of your personal protection and the protection of persons in close proximity, suitable hearing protection should be worn.

4 - Correct use

Application range

The electrical tool is designed to saw and separate wooden materials, plastic, gypsum, non-ferrous metals and securing elements (e.g. nails, staples). It is likewise suitable for processing soft wall tiles as well as for dry grinding and scraping small areas. It is particularly suitable for jobs, which are flush to edges and flush with the surface.

Only accessories suitable for the tasks listed above may be used.

Improper use of the product

All uses of the device that are not named in the "Intended use" chapter or that are carried out using unsuitable accessories are considered improper use.

The grinding machine is not a polishing machine. It is not suitable for polishing cars or metal surfaces.

There is a risk of injury!

The user of the device is liable for all property damage and personal injuries occurring as the result of incorrect use. The manufacturer warranty is voided if other components or non-original components are used with the machine.

Residual risks

Some residual risks do still remain, despite the specific safety measures listed in the operating instructions, safety notes and additional safety

regulations, for example, unintentional operation of the product. If the directions in your operating instructions are not observed, incorrect use may result in other residual risks.

Even when the device is being used properly, there always is a residual risk that cannot be excluded. The following potential hazards are inherent in the type and construction of the device:

• Contact with the unprotected sanding or polishing surface (skin abrasion/cut-wound)
• Parts flung off from parts of the sanding or polishing surface (cut-wound or blunt injury)
• Parts flung off from parts of the material being machined (cut-wound or blunt injury)
• Contact with sharp edges of the surface being machined (cut-wounds)
• Damage to hearing if the prescribed hearing protectors are not worn (hearing loss)
• Inhalation of particles produced during grinding deriving from sanding or polishing surface material
• Contact with saw teeth being flung off from the saw blade and saw blade failure (cuts)
• Kickback and flung off parts of work pieces (hurl)
• Loss of hearing if the required hearing protectors are not used during work

• Contact with saw teeth in on-going operation and during maintenance work (cuts)

• Contact with electric current caused by defective motor housing power supply cable (electric shock)

• Emissions posing health risks from wood dust

ATTENTION! The tool is not suitable for loosening tiles and wooden cladding!

This tool is only intended for use in a domestic environment.

ATTENTION! Any change to the machine other than the proper use will invalidate the guarantee.

5 - General safety instructions for handling power tools

WARNING! Read all safety warnings and all instructions.

Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

1 Work area

a Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.
b Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

c Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Di s -tractions can cause you to lose control.

2 Electrical Safety

a Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
d Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
e When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.

3 Personal safety

a Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.

b Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
g Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.
h If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of these devices can reduce dust related hazards.

4 Power tool use and care

a Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and

the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

5 Service

a Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

6 - Safety instructions relating specifically to the equipment

• Use the machine for its intended purposes only.
• When the machine is in operation, grasp it with both hands and take a firm stance.
• Power sockets for use out of doors must be fitted with residual-current circuit breaker.
• Never remove chippings or debris when the machine is running.
• Be sure to remove the power plug before starting to work on the machine, during any work breaks or when the machine is not in use.
• Always keep the power cable well away from the drilling zone.
• Make sure the machine is turned OFF before plugging it into the power supply.
• Do not use the appliance in the rain or wet.

• Wear safety glasses! Risk of injury from split off or flying material parts.

• Secure the workpiece. A workpiece held with a clamping fixture or a vice is more securely held than with your hand, and you have both hands free to guide the machine securely.

• Do not work on damp materials, e.g. wallpaper or damp areas.
• Do not use liquids containing solvent to dampen the surfaces to be worked on. The heat generated while working may generate toxic vapours.
• Never machine material containing asbestos!
• Keep appliance and tools away from children.
• Do not allow persons under 16 years of age to use the machine.
• Observe general safety instructions for handling power tools!
• Hold the tool by the insulated handle surfaces when carrying out tasks during which it is possible that the tools will come across hidden power cables or its own cable. Contact with a power-carrying cable can also put metal parts of the unit under power and cause an electric shock.
• Only use the electrical tool for dry sanding. Water entering into an electrical device will increase the risk of an electrical shock.
• Keep your hands away from the sawing area. Never reach under the work piece. Contact with the saw blade may cause injury.
• Use suitable detectors to locate hidden supply lines or consult the local supply company. Contact with electrical power

lines may lead to fire and electrical shocks. Damaging a gas pipe may cause an explosion. Damaging a water pipe will cause property damage and may cause an electric shock.

• Keep your work place clean. Mixed materials are particularly dangerous. Light metal dust may burn or explode.
• Do not use the electrical tool with a cable that is damaged. Do not touch the damaged cable and pull the plug out of the socket if the cable is damaged when you are working with the tool. Damaged cables increase the risk of an electrical shock.
  Always wear protective gloves when replacing the tools. Tools will become warm when used for extended periods.
• Be particularly careful when using the scraper. The tool is very sharp and there is a risk of injury.

• Wear dust respirator and goggles during dust-generating work - do not smoke, avoid open fire.

• Wear gloves when handling abrasive sanding discs and rough materials.

• Wear hearing protection.

• Wear goggles.

7 - Installation and setting

ATTENTION! Always unplug before changing bits!
ATTENTION! Wear safety gloves when changing tools! Risk of injury from sharp-edged tools!

Inserting tools

ATTENTION! Switch off the appliance, pull out the mains plug!

Insert the scraper tool (7) and the saw tool (8) (Figure 2) in such a way into the tool holder (2) that the cams (a) of the holder fit into two of the gaps (b) of the tool and ensure that it fits tightly. This also allows you to set a comfortable working position.

Fix the tool in place the washer, holding screw and the adjustment wrench.

The triangular sander adapter (6) is mounted without the washer. Make sure you store the washer safely. Fit a triangular sandpaper sheet with the appropriate granulation to the hook and eye coating, and press on.

CAUTION! Ensure that the tool is mounted in the correct position (Figures 3, 4, and 5). An incorrectly mounted tool may lead to injury and material damage.

8 - Operation

Insert plug into a 230 V~ socket.

ATTENTION! Always start the tool before bringing it into contact with material!

Switching on (Fig. 1)

Push the On/Off switch to "I" (ON) and lock.

Switching off (Fig. 1)

Press the rear part of the On/Off switch and allow the switch to slide to position "0" (OFF).

ATTENTION! Do not lay the machine aside until it has come to rest!

9 - Mode of operation

• Check that the relevant tool is firmly seated before and during any work you carry out.
• Guide the appliance with both hands as shown in Fig. 6.
• Always work away from the body.
• Start with a shallow working angle and light pressure.

ATTENTION! To high an application pressure, too high a working angle and sharp-edged insertable tools may damage the base material!

ATTENTION! Risk of injury to user and others near him from flying pieces! these persons should wear safety glasses.

Tool used and appliance may heat up during use.

Do not overload appliance and allow appliance to cool down from time to time.

Insertable tools

a) Scaper (Fig. 3)

For work on hard base materials, such as concrete, screed, etc.. For removing floor coverings made of fabric, PVC and cork. Removing adhesive, plaster and mortar residues. Ensure the tool is correctly fitted.

b) Sawing tool (Fig. 4)

For wood working, e.g. plunge cuts and separating cuts into wood, creating cable outlets in cupboards or shortening slim profiles.

c) Triangular sander adapter (Fig. 5)

For sanding and cleaning small surfaces, for getting into corner etc. For removing glue and mortar residue.

10 - Maintenance and environmental protection

ATTENTION! Before carrying out any maintenance work on the tool, switch it off and unplug it from the mains!

Sharpening the tools (Fig. 7)

Insertable tools with cutting edges should always be reground to ensure good results. For this the tool should be clamped in the appliance and the ground side fed to the grinding medium.

For this purpose, we recommend a stationary sanding machine.

Use a corundum disk and grind wet.

Avoid blue discoloration of the grinding surface, as otherwise the tool hardness will be impaired. Note the direction of rotation!

Cleaning

• Clean the machine case only with a damp cloth - do not use solvents! Then dry thoroughly.
• Always keep the ventilation slots on the machine clean.
• Remove adhesive residues and dirt from the insertable tools.

Disposal

CAUTION! Electrical and battery operated units that no longer work should not be disposed of in the household waste! They are to be collected separately, in accordance with the 2012/19 EU directive

for the disposal of electrical and electronic waste, and sent for proper and environ mentally-friendly recycling.

Please discard power tools no longer usable at a local collection point. Collection and disposal of packaging materials separately by types complying with local rules and regulations. For details, please contact your municipal authority concerned.

11 - Service instructions

• Store the machine, operating instructions and where necessary the accessories in the original packaging. In this way you will always have all

the information and parts ready to hand.

• Meisterbasic devices are to a large extent maintenancefree, a damp cloth being sufficient to clean the casing. Do not drop electrical machines in water. Please note additional hints given in the operating instructions.
• Meisterbasic devices are subject to stringent quality control. If however a functional fault should occur, send the device to our servicing address. The repairs will be carried out in a short time.
• A brief description of the defect speeds up the faulttracing and repair time. If within the guarantee period, please enclose the guarantee document and the proof of purchase.
• In so far as a repair under guarantee is not concerned, we will charge the repair costs to your account.

PLEASE NOTE! Opening of the device invalidates the guarantee claim!

IMPORTANT! We point out expressly that in accordance with the Product Liability Act we do not take responsibility for any damage caused by our appliances, in so much that said damage is caused by improper repair, or original parts or parts released by us not being used when parts are changed, or repairs not being conducted by Meister Werk zeuge GmbH, Customer Service or an authorised specialist! The same applies analogously to the accessories used.

• Pack the device well or use the original packaging in order to avoid transit damage.
  Even after the expiry of the guarantee period, we would like to help you and carry out any repairs at a favourable price.
