 29 ■ Introduction Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance. You have selected a high-quality product. The oper- ating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information on safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all handling and safety guidelines. Use the product only as described and for the range of applications specified. Keep these operating instructions in a safe place. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner. Intended use This appliance serves as a wireless doorbell system to announce visitors, allowing for the operation of a door bell without any wiring. The appliance is not intended for any other purpose, nor for use beyond the scope described. The appliance is not intended for use in commercial or industrial environments. The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage caused by failure to observe these instructions, improper use or repairs, unauthorised modifications or the use of unapproved replacement parts.  31 ■ Safety This section contains important safety instructions for using the appliance. This appliance complies with statutory safety regulations. Improper use may result in personal injury and property damage. Basic safety guidelines ■ This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years and above and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use the appliance safely and are aware of the potential risks. Children must not use the appli- ance as a plaything. Cleaning and user mainte- nance tasks may not be carried out by children unless they are supervised. ■ The mains plug is used as a separator from the electricity grid and must always be readily ac- cessible. ■ Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced incor- rectly. Replace only with the same or equivalent type. ■ Do not place any sources of naked flames, such as lighted candles, on the appliance.SFS 52 B2 ■ 32 

■ Check the appliance for visible external damage before use. Do not operate an appliance that has been damaged or dropped. ■ Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight or high temperatures. Never open the housing of the receiver. Improper repairs may put the user at risk. It will also invalidate any warranty claims. ■ Unplug the appliance immediately if you smell burning or notice smoke.  33 ■ DANGER Mishandling the batteries can cause fires, explosions, leakages or other hazards! In order to handle batteries safely, please observe the following safety instructions: ► Do not throw the batteries into a fire and do not subject them to high temperatures. ► Do not open, deform or short-circuit batteries, since this can lead to chemical leakage. ► Do not attempt to recharge the batteries. ► Check the condition of the batteries at regular intervals. Leaking chemicals can cause permanent damage to the appliance. Take particular care when handling damaged or leaking batteries. Risk of acid burns! Wear protective gloves. ► Chemicals that leak from a battery can cause skin irritation. In the event of contact with the skin, rinse with plenty of water. If the chemicals come into contact with your eyes, rinse thorough- ly with water, do not rub and consult a doctor immediately. ► Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Children might put batteries into their mouth and swallow them. If a battery has been swallowed, seek medical assistance IMMEDIATELY.SFS 52 B2 ■ 34 

DANGER ► Always insert the batteries the right way round (observe correct polarity) otherwise there is a danger that they could explode. ► If you do not intend to use the appliance for a long time, remove the batteries. ► Do not ingest the battery – there is a risk of chemical burns! ► This product contains a button cell battery. Swallowing the button cell battery can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death. ► Keep new and old batteries away from children. ► If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children. Operation Check the package contents (See fold-out page for illustrations) The scope of delivery includes the following compo- nents: ● 1 x receiver ● 1 x sender ● 1 x 3V battery, type CR2032 ● 5 x name plates ● 2 x wall plugs with screws for sender assembly ● 1 x double-sided adhesive tape ● These operating instructions ♦ Remove all parts of the appliance from the pack- aging and remove all packaging materials. ♦ Check the package for completeness and for signs of visible damage. ♦ If the delivery is incomplete or damage has occurred as a result of defective packaging or during transport, contact the Service hotline (see chapter entitled Service).SFS 52 B2

 37 ■ Disposal of packaging materials The packaging protects the appliance from damage during transport. The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease of disposal, and are therefore recyclable. Returning the packaging into the material cycle conserves raw materials and reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regu- lations. Power supply: receiver The receiver is plugged into a properly installed mains power outlet and does not require batteries. Inserting/replacing the batteries ♦ Open the battery compartment

 39 ■ Handling and operation Selecting the signal type The receiver can indicate the reception of a door- ring signal either optically, acoustically, or optically and acoustically. ♦ To select, move the signal type switch to the desired position: — acoustic ringer signal only, the selected melody will be played — optical ringer signal only, the signal display flashes — optical and acoustic ringer signal Adjusting the signal sound volume Press the VOL button

Selecting the ringer melody There are 52 different ringer melodies stored in the appliance. ♦ Press the melody select button

♦ Stop the selection when you hear the desired melody. The appliance will use the last-played melody. NOTE ► If you remove the receiver from the mains socket, the set melody remains saved for approximately 40 seconds. After this time, you need to set your desired melody anew. Synchronising the sender and receiver The transmitter and receiver of this wireless doorbell system can communicate with each other via a num- ber of different codings. This means that you can operate up to 5 transmitters with one receiver. In ad- dition, you can extend the wireless doorbell system with any number of receivers. This is only possible if the sender and receiver within a system are working on the same frequency, however. For this, you must synchronise the appliances as follows: ♦ Press the synchronisation button on the receiver. ♦ Now press the ringer button on the transmitter.SFS 52 B2

 41 ■ If the synchronisation has been a success, the receiver notifies you of the programmed call signal. Should the receiver not react as described, repeat the synchronisation. NOTE ► To cancel synchronisation between the transmit- ter and the receiver, you need to press and hold the synchronisation button for about 5 seconds. ► Pull the receiver out of the mains socket and wait about 10 seconds so that all connections bet- ween the transmitter and receiver are terminated. Mounting the transmitter ♦ Select a suitable positioning for the sender, close to your outer door. ♦ Mark the positions for the required drill holes with the help of the mounting plate - and drill the holes for the supplied wall plugs . (5mm drill). ♦ Push the wall plugs into the drill holes and screw the mounting plate -onto the wall using the screws 0. ♦ Push the transmitter onto the mounting plate - until it clicks audibly into place.SFS 52 B2 ■ 42 

NOTE ► Alternatively, you can mount the transmitter onto a suitable surface using the double-sided adhesive tape 3. ♦ Label one of the supplied name plates !. If you label the name plate by hand, make sure you use a waterproof pen. ♦ Remove the name plate cover from the trans- mitter and insert your name plate into the recess on the transmitter. ♦ Replace the name plate cover on the trans- mitter. Maintenance The appliance is maintenance-free. No form of maintenance, either on or in the appliance, is intended for execution by the user. In the event of malfunction or apparent damage, contact Customer Services. If the appliance is not going to be used for an extended period, remove the batteries.SFS 52 B2

 43 ■ Troubleshooting There is no ring when pressing the ringer button ♦ Check whether there is a battery (type CR2032) in the transmitter. ♦ Check whether the power outlet being used for the receiver is working properly. ♦ It is possible that the transmitter is not synchro- nised with the receiver. Repeat the synchronisa- tion. ♦ Ensure that the signal type switch is set to the position or . The range is reduced ♦ A weak battery will reduce the range. Change the battery every 12–18 months. ♦ Metal constructions, walls, ceilings or other ap- pliances that use the same frequency can affect the range. Try to avoid mounting the transmitter in the immediate vicinity of any metal parts. NOTE ► If you cannot solve the problem with the above-mentioned solutions, please contact the Service Hotline (see chapter entitled Service).SFS 52 B2 ■ 44 

Cleaning CAUTION! ► There are no serviceable parts or parts requiring cleaning inside the appliance. Moisture can cause damage to the appliance. ► Do not use caustic, abrasive or solvent-based cleaning materials. These can damage the surfac- es of the appliance. ♦ Clean the housing of the appliance with a lightly moistened cloth and a mild detergent only. Storage when not in use ♦ Store the appliance in a location which is clean, dry, dust-free and not in direct sunlight.SFS 52 B2

 45 ■ Disposal Disposal of the appliance The adjacent symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin means that this appliance is subject to Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive states that this appliance may not be dis- posed of in the normal household waste at the end of its useful life, but must be handed over to specially set-up collection locations, recycling depots or dis- posal companies. This disposal is free of charge for the user. Protect the environment and dispose of this appliance properly. You can obtain further information from your local disposal company or the city or local authority. Disposal of batteries Used batteries may not be disposed of in domestic waste. Batteries can contain poisons which are damaging to the environment. Therefore, dispose of the batteries/ rechargeable batteries in accordance with statutory regulations. All consumers are statutorily obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection site in their commu- nity/city district or with a collection company. If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statuto- ry rights are not restricted in any way by the warran- ty described below. Warranty conditions The validity period of the warranty starts from the date of purchase. Please keep your original receipt in a safe place. This document will be required as proof of purchase. If any material or production fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you at our dis- cretion. This warranty service is dependent on you presenting the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) and a short written description of the fault and its time of occurrence. Scope of the warranty This appliance has been manufactured in accord- ance with strict quality guidelines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery. The warranty covers material faults or production faults.
