How to pair the powerline adapter and extender?

Press the Pair button on the adapter for 1 second (the power LED blinks), then within 2 minutes press the Pair button on the extender for 1 second. The powerline LED stays solid when pairing is successful.

What should I do if the powerline LED blinks or is red?

A blinking or red powerline LED indicates poor signal quality. Move the extender to another outlet on the same electrical circuit, preferably close to the adapter.

How do I copy my router's Wi-Fi settings to the extender?

Plug the extender near the router. Press the WPS button on the router, then within 2 minutes press the Wi-Fi button on the extender for 1 second. The Wi-Fi LEDs blink quickly and then stay on when copying is successful.

Can I plug the powerline adapters into a power strip?

No, it is recommended to plug the adapters directly into a wall outlet. If the adapter has a pass-through outlet, you can plug a power strip into that female socket, but do not plug another powerline adapter into it.

How do I reset the powerline extender to factory settings?

When the extender is powered on, insert a pin (paperclip) into the reset hole and hold the Reset button until all LEDs turn off and then turn on again. The reset is complete.

What should I do if I have no internet access via the powerline network?

Check that all adapters are on the same electrical circuit, that the powerline LEDs are on (otherwise re-pair), that the Ethernet connections are correct, and that your modem/router has internet access by testing it directly.

The paired extender does not reconnect after being moved. What should I do?

Make sure all adapters are on the same circuit. Re-pair it near another adapter, check that the powerline LED is on before moving it, and keep it away from electrical devices that generate interference (hair dryer, air conditioner).

Can I add other powerline adapters to the existing network?

Yes, you can pair additional powerline adapters by following the same procedure: press Pair on the existing device and then on the new one within 2 minutes.

How do I set up Wi-Fi without using WPS?

Connect a computer to the extender via Ethernet or through the default Wi-Fi (SSID/password on the label). Open a browser and access the web interface (often http://tplinkplc.net), or use the tpPLC app available on the App Store or Google Play.

What is the maximum range of powerline?

The powerline signal range depends on the quality of the electrical wiring. Under optimal conditions, the speed can reach up to 1200 Mbps, but the distance should not exceed approximately 300 meters on the same circuit. Walls and circuit breakers may reduce performance.

1. Connect the adapter to a LAN port of your router using an Ethernet cable.
2. Plug the powerline devices into the wall outlets near each other and on the same electrical circuit.
3. Pair the powerline devices.

A. Press the Pair button on the powerline adapter for 1 second. The Power LED starts blinking.

* If the Power LED does not blink, press the Pair button again.

- Plug the powerline devices directly into the wall outlets but not the power strips.

- For passthrough powerline devices, plug the power strips into the integrated electrical sockets of the powerline devices.

Copy Wi-Fi Settings from Router to Extender

If your router supports WPS, you can follow the steps below to automatically copy the router's Wi-Fi settings (SSID and password) to the powerline extender.

1. Plug in the powerline extender near your router. Press the WPS button on your router.
2. Within 2 minutes, press the Wi-Fi button on the extender for 1 second.
3. When the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi LED and 5GHz Wi-Fi LED on the extender blink quickly for 3 seconds, and then stay on, it's done!

* 5GHz Wi-Fi is not available on single-band products. For multiple-band products, the powerline extender copies by default both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless settings at the same time. If it fails to copy both, your router may be only able to clone one band at a time. Please check your router's manual for support.

Note: The wireless settings can also be configured through the powerline extender's web interface or through the tpPLC app. You can download the app from the App Store or Google Play, or simply scan the QR code.
