Guide to the appliance

The UG 70-60/80 is a 70~cm high housing unit designed for 60~cm wide washer-disinfectors to accommodate partial or complete water demineralisation systems and/or for chemical agents and external dispensing systems.

External DOS modules and chemical agents

The UG 70-60-/80 unit is suitable for safely accommodating chemical agents and external DOS modules.

It can accommodate two 5 litre containers and two DOS G 80 / DOS K 85 dispensing systems.

The DOS modules are equipped with a monitor which sends a message to the washer-disinfector if the level drops below the minimum.

Water demineralisation

Two water demineralisation cartridges can also be accommodated in the UG 70-60/80 unit, each with a meter and a display unit.

Partial demineralisation cartridges with flow meter

With partial demineralisation, carbonate hardness is reduced by binding calcium and magnesium ions, thereby reducing the mineral content of the water.

The flow meter indicates when the cartridge requires changing.

  • TE P 2000 partial demineralisation cartridge

Filled with 12.5 I resin.

  • TE P 2800 partial demineralisation cartridge

Filled with 19 I resin.

Full demineralisation cartridges with conductivity meter

Full demineralisation removes all salts and minerals from water.

The conductivity meter shows the conductivity level of the demineralised water in S / cm (microsiemens per centimetre) to enable quality control of the demineralised water.

  • VEP 2000 full demineralisation cartridge

Filled with 12.5 I resin.

  • VEP 2800 full demineralisation cartridge

Filled with 19 I resin.

The cartridges are filled with renewable resin which can be regenerated after depletion. The whole cartridge can be sent to a regeneration station for reprocessing.

The UG 70-60/80 unit has to be commissioned before first use and operators trained in its use by a Miele technician or authorised person only.

Please follow the operating instructions for the water demineralisation cartridges, conductivity meter, flow meter and the washer-disinfector, and pay particular attention to the warning and safety instructions regarding contact with chemical agents.

The UG 70-60/80 unit and built-in accessories comply with current safety requirements. Inappropriate use can, however, lead to personal injury and damage to property.

To avoid the risk of accidents and damage to the unit, please read these instructions carefully before using it, and any accessories in it, for the first time. They contain important information on its installation, safe use and maintenance. Keep these instructions in a safe place and pass them on to any future owner.

Technical safety

The UG 70-60/80 unit and built-in accessories must only be installed, commissioned, maintained and repaired by the Miele Service Department or an authorised Miele Service dealer. Installation, repairs and other work by unqualified persons could be dangerous and Miele will not be held liable.
The unit must only be operated by appropriately trained personnel. They must be instructed and trained regularly.
- Check the UG 70-60/80 unit and built-in accessories before use for any visible damage. Do not use a damaged unit. It could be dangerous.
In the event of a damaged or leaking UG 70-60/80 unit, switch it off immediately and call the Miele Service Department or an authorised Miele Service dealer.

Instructions for use

MIELE UG 706080 - Instructions for use - 1

The external DOS modules automatically dispense chemical agents at the correct programme stages.

Replacing or refilling containers

  • Fill the relevant container with chemical agent when a refill reminder appears in the washer-disinfector's display.

  • Refill the container in good time to prevent the dispensing system being emptied completely.

  • If a container has been emptied, the dispensing system has to be vented before the start of the next programme.
  • Follow the information in the operating instructions for the washer disinfector.

  • Unscrew and remove the siphon and place it on a surface which is easy to clean.
Fill or replace the container, fit the siphon and secure the lid.
