Intended use The thermal binding device is used to bind thermal binding folders with a maximum thickness of 20 mm and a maximum content of 200 sheets of paper (70 g/m²). Any other use is considered improper use. Unauthorised modications or conversions that are not described in these operating instructions are not permitted and will result in damage to this product.   • Do not bind laminated lms or paper in transparent lms.
  • O󰀩cial documents may lose their validity as a result of binding.

  • Other binding folders are expressly not suitable for thermal binding.

  • The cooling time between the binding processes is at least 10 minutes. Operation 1 Connect the power plug to a properly installed socket. 2 Press the On/O󰀨 button to switch on the device. The Power LED lights up red. 3 The Status LED ashes red. The appliance heats up (approx. 3 minutes). Caution! Risk of burns due to hot appliance surface! Do not touch the surface of the appliance during or immediately after operation. Note: Wait until the appliance is fully heated up. Do not insert the thermal binding folder beforehand, as this will prevent it from fusing properly.10 4 Place the documents to be bound in the thermal binding folder. Make sure that the documents are aligned in the thermal binding folder. Attention! Material damage possible! Only use binding folders that are suitable for thermal binding. 5 The Status LED lights up green continuously and a signal tone sounds as soon as the device is ready for use. 6 Use the handle to pull the cooling device out of the appliance to open the functional area. 7 Place the thermal binding folder in the functional area with the closed side facing down. 8 Press the Start button to start the binding process. 9 The Status LED ashes red during the binding process. The binding process is completed after about 1 minute. The Status LED lights up green and three beeps sound. Caution! Risk of burns due to hot surface! Do not touch the binding area/back area of the thermal binding folder directly after the binding process. 10 Remove the thermal binding folder at the cool end. Place the thermal binding folder in the cooling device for about 10 minutes. Note: Observe the cooling time of at least 10 minutes. A cooling time that is too short can lead to incorrect results. Note: The appliance has an automatic switch-o󰀨 function. The device switches o󰀨 automatically after 90 minutes of inactivity. 11 Press the On/O󰀨 button to switch o󰀨 the device. The Power LED goes out. Cleaning Clean the outside of the appliance with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents or sol- vents. Troubleshooting Malfunction Solution The device does not start Check that the mains plug is plugged in correctly. The appliance has an automatic switch-o󰀨 function. The de- vice switches o󰀨 automatically after 90 minutes of inactivity. Switch the device on again if necessary. The appliance does not heat (any more) The appliance has an overheating protection function. Allow the appliance to cool down for at least 10 minutes. The binding is faulty Check whether the thermal binding folder used is suitable for the device. Check the information on maximum capacity under Technical data. Observe the cooling time of at least 10 minutes.11 Notes on disposal Find out about the options for taking back old appliances free of charge from your dealer. The packaging is made from environmentally friendly materials that can be disposed of at local recycling centres. Ask your local authority about the options for correct disposal.
