2. Safety Instructions

  • In order to avoid heating please do not cover the heater during usage.
  • When using electrical appliance basic precautions should always be followed including below.
    The fan heater is not suitable for in damp weather, in bathrooms or in other wet or damp environments.
  • Please note that the fan heater can become very hot. Therefore it should be placed at a safe distance from flammable objects such as furniture, curtains...
  • Do not place the fan heater immediately under a wall socket.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by manufacturer, its service agent or similar qualified persons.
    This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Do not connect the fan heater using an on/off timer or other equipment which can automatically switch the device on.
    The fan heater must not be placed in rooms where flammable liquids or gases are used or stored.
  • Heater cannot be used in bathrooms, showers and near pools.
    Make sure the heater is always under surveillance and keep children and animals away from it.
  • Never leave the heater unattended while it is in use.
  • Always unplug the appliance when you do not use it.
  • Keep the appliance away from water. Never touch the appliance with wet hands.
  • Never use the appliance near inflammable or explosive materials or gasses.

6. Operation

  • The appliance must be placed on a steady surface.
    Before connecting the appliance to the power supply please check if the appliance is switched off.
  • Put the power supply cable into the socket.

6.1 The Thermostat

The appliance starts working when one of the above positions is used.
- The appliance does have a thermostat. When the temperature has reached the preferred temperature the heating element will stop automatically. When the temperature is going down the heating element will be switched on again.

WARNING: After the heating element is switched off automatically, the fan will still blowing till the appliance has cooled down. This means it will blow away the hot air and you will get a possible cold feeling in your room. To prevent this cold feeling you could turn off the appliance.

  • When the appliance is switched off (with supply cord in socket) the fan will keep blowing till the appliance is cooled down.
  • Pull out the supply cord when you do not use the appliance.

Slightly loosen the adjustment knobs while holding the body with one hand.
- Tilt the body to the desired angle and retighten the adjustment knobs.

6.3 Overheating Protection

The appliance is provided with an overheating protection. This protection will switch off the appliance automatically when it notices a malfunction. In this case you must switch off the appliance and pull out the supply cord. After a short period of cooling down, the appliance will be ready to use again.

When this happens repeatedly you must contact your local dealer.

7. Cleaning and Maintenance

Before cleaning the appliance disconnect it from the socket and let it cool down. The enclosure is easily to get dirty. Wipe it often with a sponge. For every dirty parts wipe with a sponge dipped in water and mild detergent. Then dry the heater enclosure with clean cloth.
- Be careful and do not let water enter the appliance. Do not splash water onto the heater, never use solvents like gasoline, isoamyl, acetate toluene etc. to clean the heater, in order to protect the enclosure.
- Clean the cord and plug. Pack it dry in a plastic bag and store it in a dry and ventilated place.

All our products fulfil strict quality requirements and legal stipulations in the EU. In order to ensure the quality, our products regularly go through an extra quality check, both by an internal quality department and by specialized external organisations. If, all precautionary measures notwithstanding, problems should occur, please make appeal to our warranty (see guarantee conditions).

General Warranty Conditions Concerning Consumer Products (for EU):

  • All consumer products are subject to a 24-month warranty on production flaws and defective material as from the original date of purchase.

  • Velleman® can decide to replace an article with an equivalent article, or to refund the retail value totally or partially when the complaint is valid and a free repair or replacement of the article is impossible, or if the expenses are out of proportion. You will be delivered a replacing article or a refund at the value of 100% of the purchase price in case of a flaw occurred in the first year after the date of purchase and delivery, or a replacing article at 50% of the purchase price or a refund at the value of 50% of the retail value in case of a flaw occurred in the second year after the date of purchase and delivery.

- Not covered by warranty:

  • all direct or indirect damage caused after delivery to the article (e.g. by oxidation, shocks, falls, dust, dirt, humidity...), and by the article, as well as its contents (e.g. data loss), compensation for loss of profits:

  • consumable goods, parts or accessories that are subject to an aging process during normal use, such as batteries (rechargeable, non-rechargeable, built-in or replaceable), lamps, rubber parts, drive belts... (unlimited list);

  • flaws resulting from fire, water damage, lightning, accident, natural disaster, etc....

  • flaws caused deliberately, negligently or resulting from improper handling, negligent maintenance, abusive use or use contrary to the manufacturer's instructions:

  • damage caused by a commercial, professional or collective use of the article (the warranty validity will be reduced to six (6) months when the article is used professionally);

  • damage resulting from an inappropriate packing and shipping of the article:

  • all damage caused by modification, repair or alteration performed by a third party without written permission by Velleman®.

  • Articles to be repaired must be delivered to your Velleman® dealer, solidly packed (preferably in the original packaging), and be completed with the original receipt of purchase and a clear flaw description.

  • Hint: In order to save on cost and time, please reread the manual and check if the flaw is caused by obvious causes prior to presenting the article for repair. Note that returning a non-defective article can also involve handling costs.

  • Repairs occurring after warranty expiration are subject to shipping costs.

  • The above conditions are without prejudice to all commercial warranties.
