DANGER from electricity

  1. In order to prevent a fire hazard, electric shock or personal injury, do not operate the appliance outdoors and do not immerse it in water or other liquids.
  2. Before you connect the appliance to your power supply, make sure that the voltage indicated on the specification plate corresponds with that of your power supply.
  3. The appliance may be connected only to properly earthed power supplies.
  4. Connect the unit to a mains power supply through a fuse rated at least 6 Amp.
  5. Do not let the power cord hang over sharp edges or hot surfaces.
  6. The power cord should not come into contact with the appliance when it is hot.
  7. The plug must be easy to reach so that you can pull out the mains plug immediately in case of emergency.
  8. Never pull on the mains cord to disconnect the appliance from the power socket. Always pull the plug.
  9. Pull the mains plug out of the power socket:

  10. when you are not using the appliance,

  11. if a fault occurs during operation,
  12. before you clean the appliance.

  13. Do not try to repair the appliance yourself and do not ever use it with a defective plug or power cord or when it does not work flawlessly or is damaged in any other way. 3. Never cover the appliance because this will prevent the heat escaping.
  4. Switch the unit on only if the water tank is full.
  5. Never use warm or hot water to reduce the brewing time.
  6. Furniture today is coated with many types of paints and plastics and is treated with many different kinds of care products. It can therefore not be entirely excluded that some of these materials contain components which corrode and soften the rubber feet. If necessary, place a mat under the feet of the appliance.

WARNING: No liability can be assumed for any damage in the case of misuse or incorrect operation.

5 Before initial operation

  • Make sure that all packaging material has been removed from the appliance (protective film etc.).
  • Check that all parts are there (see chapter 3 "Description of appliance and scope of delivery").
  • Leave the specification plate and any warning notices on the appliance.
  • Place the unit on a heat-resistant waterproof and flat surface.
  • Do not place the unit directly next to water taps or sinks.

CAUTION: Make sure that the appliance is not damaged. If parts are damaged, do not operate the appliance. Instead, contact qualified service personnel.

  1. Wipe the appliance with a damp cloth and then dry it with a kitchen towel.
  2. Clean the unit and accessories thoroughly before using for the first time, as described in chapter 7.
  3. Insert the mains plug in a power socket.
  4. Carry out 2-3 brewing processes, as described in chapter 6 in order to remove any particles left over from production and assembly. Pour the coffee away! Your Lattespresso Espresso maker is now ready for operation.

NOTE: When you use the appliance for the first time, there might be some slight fumes.

NOTE: The appliance has a touch key (see photo) that can only be switched on

and that switches off automatically. Merely touching the touch key is sufficient to switch the appliance on, even if it is not yet plugged into the mains. When you use the coffee-maker for the first time, it is therefore possible that it is already switched on (touch key is illuminated).

So prepare everything first (cleaning the appliance, filling it with water and coffee) before placing the appliance on the base station.

However if the coffee-maker has already heated up, it must be allowed to cool down completely before you use it. Otherwise the brewing process may be ended prematurely or may not start at all.

6 Use

Hints and tips:

It is best to use dark, freshly roasted coffee varieties to make espresso.
- To make espresso the coffee should be finely ground until it is as fine as salt or sand. If the coffee is too coarse, on the other hand, it does not properly release its flavour.
- Mocha powder is ground generally very finely, the coffee funnel (12 or 13) may only be filled loosely with the mocha powder.
Always use fresh cold water. Do not let the water stagnate in the tank.
Soft water is ideal for espresso. Hard or salty water will severely impair the flavour.
- With the Lattespresso machine you can prepare two different quantities of coffee: for 5-7 cups use the large coffee funnel (12), for 2-4 cups use the small coffee funnel (13)

6.1 Caffé latte preparation

BEEM Lattespresso M300F - Caffé latte preparation - 1
Fig. 1 Remove the jug (8) from the water tank (15) by screwing it anticlockwise.
Fig. 2 Screw the caffe latte valve (2) onto the riser tube (4) in the jug. Press the reset button (1).

NOTE: Pressing the reset button (1) is actually only necessary if remnants of coffee powder or lime scale have settled in the caffe latte valve (2) from making caffe latte. Since it cannot be seen whether the reset button has to be pressed or not, we recommend doing this before each time you make caffe latte simply to be on the safe side.

Fig. 3 Remove the coffee funnel (12/13) from the water tank (15).

Fig. 4 Fill the water tank (15) to mark 3 or mark 6 (max.) with clean cold tap water.

NOTE: Never put more water than indicated into the tank when making caffe latte. Since there is already an amount of milk in the container the caffe latte will overflow.

Fig. 5 Insert the coffee funnel (12/13) in the water tank (15). For 3 cups use the small coffee funnel (13) and for 6 cups use the large coffee funnel (12).

BEEM Lattespresso M300F - Caffé latte preparation - 2
Fig. 6 Place the ground coffee in the coffee funnel (12/13). The funnel has to be filled with coffee to just below the rim. Distribute the coffee evenly in the filter. Do not compress the coffee too much, but simply remove any excess from the top. Make sure that there is no ground coffee on the rim of the filter or on the thread. Put the top filter (11) on the coffee funnel with the fine strainer pointing downwards.

Fig. 7 Place the jug (8) onto the water tank, holding it straight. Turn the jug clockwise to secure it to the water tank. When positioning the jug on the water tank, ensure that the dot on the jug is aligned with the bar on the water tank.
Fig. 8 Add fresh milk into the jug (8). The ideal amount of milk is 190ml or a maximum of 300ml . Ensure that the bushing (20) of the jet is below the milk level. The length of the jet can be adjusted by pulling or pushing the bushing slightly upwards. Do not bend the valve jet, as this would irreparably damage it. You achieve the best result if you use milk with a fat content of 3.5 percent and heat the milk up slightly before you put it in the jug. This will give a little foam. You can also add sugar or sugar cubes to the milk, depending on your taste.
Fig. 9 Close the lid. Place the espresso maker on the power supply base (17).
Fig. 10 Press the power switch (16). The indicator light (16) switches on. After a few minutes, the coffee begins to fill into the jug. There will be loud noises on account of the high pressure of our coffee machine. The brewing process is completed when the indicator light is off. Wait several seconds until the rest of the coffee has come out. Remove the espresso maker from the base and when pouring, open the lid by pressing slightly on the lid tab (6), otherwise it will drip when pouring and some coffee will run down the jug.

NOTE: When pouring out, open the lid (5) by pressing slightly on the lid tab (6).

ATTENTION: Allow the espresso maker to cool down completely before removing the container from the tank. The container and the tank can still contain hot water!

NOTE: If you wish to brew another portion of caffe latte, you have to wait until the boiler has cooled down completely. The appliance will not work while it is still hot. The touch key is temperature-controlled and automatically switches off the appliance until it has cooled down completely. It cannot be switched on again until then. Do not block the touch key in order to force the machine to brew more coffee before it is ready.
