What does error code E3 mean on the BEEM FreshAromaPerfect DUO coffee maker and how can it be resolved?
Frequently Asked Questions - 23/04/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The BEEM FreshAromaPerfect DUO coffee maker does not have a digital display system that generates specific error codes like E3. However, if your machine is experiencing heating or temperature issues, here are solutions for common problems affecting your machine's operation.

Common heating issues: The accumulation of limescale in the internal conduits is the main cause of thermal malfunctions. This reduces the flow of hot water and can create internal overheating of the system. The heating element may also be clogged with mineral residues, affecting preheating efficiency.

Steps to resolve temperature issues:

  • Descale your machine: Regular descaling is the main solution. Use an appropriate descaling solution and follow the descaling steps described in your manual to completely remove limescale from the conduits and the heating element.
  • Check the water tank: Ensure that the tank is properly filled to the MAX mark and well inserted into the machine. An insufficiently filled tank can cause overheating.
  • Let it cool down: If the machine has been running for a long time or continuously, unplug it and wait at least 30 minutes before restarting to avoid overheating the system.
  • Clean the internal components: Regularly clean the coffee outlet (outlet 4) and check that the drip tray is not blocked, as this can affect flow and temperature.

Your machine has an automatic overheating protection and stops after 40 minutes of operation. If the machine frequently stops, descale it immediately and check that all components are clean. For a more in-depth diagnosis, please contact BEEM customer service via the website www.beem.de or consult your user manual for after-sales service contact details.

When the device is first used, production-related additives (e.g. grease) may cause a small amount of smoke and / or an odour to be produced. This is normal and not a device defect.

  1. Repeat this process twice. Do not drink this coffee!
  2. Clean the device and accessories (see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter).

Set-Up and Connection

PLEASE NOTE

  • Always set up the device with a clear space at the sides (at least 20 cm) and clear space above it (at least 30 cm) on a flat, solid and heat-resistant surface that is resistant to splashing.

When the device is in operation, the filter compartment (3) must be closed and a jug with a lid placed on it must be placed beneath the filter compartment. The lid of the jug pushes the drip stop upwards and the coffee can flow from the filter through the lid into the jug.

BEEM FreshAromaPerfect DUO - Drip Stop - 1

During the brewing process, the jug must not be removed from the device for longer than 30 seconds as otherwise the filter could overflow.

Preparation

PLEASE NOTE

However, the preset time is retained and can be reactivated at any time until a new preset time is programmed in or the device has been disconnected from the power supply.

Cleaning and Care

PLEASE NOTE

- Do not use any toxic, corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents or scouring sponges to clean the device. These can damage the surface.

I. Wait until the device has completely cooled down.
2. Empty the permanent filter (2).
3. Clean the permanent filter and the glass jug (5) or thermal jug and the coffee measuring spoon after every use with mild detergent and warm water or in the dishwasher.
4. Wipe the housing out and down with a damp cloth. If necessary, use a little mild detergent to remove more intense soiling.
5. Check the connection regularly for any damage.

Cleaning the Coffee Jugs Thoroughly

Coffee grounds and coffee oil residues can contaminate glass jugs and thermal jugs over time. They should therefore be thoroughly cleaned regularly (at least every 4 weeks).

We recommend that you do this using BEEM premium cleaning tablets. They will remove the residues quickly and easily. In addition, the cleaning tablets are gentle on the material and guarantee food-safe and environmentally friendly cleaning - ensuring an authentic coffee flavour. BEEM premium cleaning tablets can be obtained from selected specialist stockists, directly via our website www.beem.de or from our customer service department on request.

Cleaning with the BEEM Premium Cleaning Tablets

I. Dissolve one cleaning tablet in water at 60 – 70°C.
2. Pour the solution into the coffee jug which needs to be cleaned.
3. Move the coffee jug slowly in circular motions to ensure that the inside is wetted with the cleaning solution.
4. Let the cleaning solution take effect for a few minutes.
5. Empty the coffee jug and rinse it thoroughly several times with clear water.

BEEM FreshAromaPerfect DUO - Cleaning with the BEEM Premium Cleaning Tablets - 1

The BEEM cleaning tablets do not have any descaling effect!

Descaling

Limescale deposits have an adverse effect not only on the quality of the coffee, but they also cause power losses and shorten the lifespan of the device. The thicker a limescale layer is, the more difficult it is to remove.

We therefore recommend regularly removing limescale deposits with a descaling agent in accordance with the water quality in your area and how often the device is used (approx. every 2 – 6 weeks).

The first indications that descaling is required are a large amount of steam being produced and slower brewing of the coffee.

For descaling we recommend the BEEM premium descaler concentrate. The efficient, food-safe and environmentally friendly BEEM premium descaler concentrate is available from selected specialist stockists, via our website www.beem.de or from our customer service department on request.

Descaling with the BEEM Premium Descaler Concentrate

  1. Fill the water tank (9) up to the MAX marking (approx. 1250 ml) with a concentrate/water solution of no more than 1:20 (one part concentrate to 20 parts water) (see the “Handling and Operation” chapter – “Filling the Water Tank”).
  2. Place the glass jug (5) or the thermal jug under the coffee outlet (4).
  3. Press the ON / OFF button (13) to switch on the device. Allow the descaling solution to run out through the coffee outlet.
  4. To rinse the device, allow two tankfuls (approx. 1250 ml each) of clear water to run through it and then clean the used coffee jug (see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter). The device is now descaled and ready to be used again.

Storage

Disconnect the device from the mains power when it is not going to be used for a prolonged period. Clean the device again if necessary (see the “Cleaning and Care” chapter) and let it dry completely.

Store the device and all accessories in a dry, clean, frost-free place that is protected from direct sunlight and cannot be accessed by children or animals.
