Safety advice and warnings

• Read these instructions carefully before switching on the appliance and keep them for future reference. Failure to follow and observe these instructions could lead to an accident.

Working environment:

• Place the appliance on a horizontal, flat, stable surface, suitable for withstanding high temperatures and away from other heat sources and contact with water.
• Do not use the appliance in association with a programmer, timer or other device that automatically switches it on, as there is a risk of

fire if the appliance is covered or incorrectly situated.

Electrical safety:

• Do not use the appliance if the cable or plug is damaged.
• Ensure that the voltage indicated on the rating label matches the mains voltage before plugging in the appliance.
• Connect the appliance to a base with an earth socket withstanding a minimum of 10 amperes.
• Do not touch the plug with wet hands.

Use and care:

• Do not use the appliance if the on/off switch does not work.
• Never connect the appliance without having first of all filled the oil tank.
• This deep fryer can only work with oil and water, or only oil, not exceeding the MAXIMUM and MINIMUM levels (Fig.1).
• Before filling the oil and water container, make sure the emptying tap is totally closed (Fig.2).
• NEVER ADD WATER TO HOT OIL.
• Wait for long enough to allow the water and oil full separation (at least 5 minutes) before turning the deep fryer on.
• The deep fryer must not be placed near easily inflammable products.
• When the deep fryer is on, the resistance must always be covered in oil.
• This appliance is for household use only, not professional or industrial use.
• This appliance is not a toy. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• This appliance is intended for adult

use. Ensure that this product is not used by the disabled, children or people unused to its handling.

• This appliance should be stored out of reach of children and/or the disabled.

• Never leave the appliance unattended when in use and keep out of the reach of children, as this is an electrical appliance that heats oil to high temperatures and may cause serious burns.

• Do not move the appliance whilst in operation or if the oil is still hot. When the fryer is cold carry it by the handles (Fig 3).

• If, for some reason, the oil were to catch fire, disconnect the appliance from the mains and smother the fire using the lid, a cover or a large kitchen cloth. NEVER WITH WATER.

• Position the thermostat control to the minimum (0) setting does not guarantee the permanent disconnection of the fryer.

-Disconnect the fryer when not in use. Do so by pulling out the plug not by pulling the cable.

• The electrical device is equipped with a safety device that prevents the deep fryer from running unless properly set up.

• This safety device prevents the appliance from running if the maximum water level is exceed, indicated with a red point on the glass display (Fig.4).

• The fryer has a protection system to avoid the water boiling. When the water exceeds a certain temperature, the fryer will automatically switch off. It will take 2 to 4 hours before it can be reconnected and during this time the fryer must be unplugged. You can reduce this time by adding a small

amount of cold water to the tank.
- In the case of overheating, the thermal safety device will trigger and the deep fryer will stop working.
- In the event of overheating, the thermal safety mechanism will be activated and the appliance will stop operating. When this occurs the appliance should be disconnected from the mains and left to cool. Then press the rearming button, situated at the back of the electrical circuit, with the tip of a pen or similar in order to reactivate the appliance (Fig. 5).
- This fryer has a funnel-shaped antiturbulence deflector (M).

Not using this deflector could make the fryer stop working for a time after a few consecutive frying sessions, due to the action of the thermal limiter.

• If the green led does not light when turning the deep fryer on, the possible reasons are:

a) The maximum water level allowed in the container has been exceed (Fig.1).
b) The electrical device is not correctly fitted in place.
c) Other faults. In this case, the appliance must be taken to an authourized Technical Assistance Service for repair.
- Any misuse or failure to follow the instructions for use renders the guarantee and the manufacturer's liability null and void.

Assembling the basket:

• Remove the basket and attach the handle by pivoting until the rods engage in the housing (Fig.6).

Instructions for use

Before use:

• Before using the product for the first time, clean the parts that will come into contact with food in the manner described in the cleaning section.

Oil filling:

• Lift the cover.

• Remove the mains connection form its place, situated behind the electrical device of the deep fryer (Fig.7).

• Fit the waste filter-basket in place (under the heating device) to collect the eventual particles that may fall when frying.

• To fit the waste filter-basket in place(G), make sure that the filter mesh is under the sensors inside the container.

• Fill the water mixed with 10% salt until the level reaches the green spot in the viewing window (Fig.4). Then, pour oil up to the MAXIMUM level (4.5 ± 1) water).

-Wait for at least 5 minutes to let oil and water separate completely.

• The water level must be always between the red spot and the green spot.

• Frying certain foodstuffs may make the water level rise. Keep the level between the two points in the viewing window.

Use:

• Connect the appliance to the mains.

• After connecting the appliance to the mains, it takes 1 to 2 seconds to activate the pilot lamps, due to an internal service process of the appliance's functions.

• The green led on shows that the appliance is connected to the mains and in normal condition for use.

• Select the desired frying temperature using the thermostat control. The indicator light will turn red, indicating that the oil is being heated.
• Adjust the electrical device height using the resistance height switch (Fig.8), depending on the amount of food to be fried, so that the oil covers it totally. The oil above the heating resistance is the one that will actually heat for frying; therefore a correct adjustment of such a height allows to save heating and frying time, as well as energy.
• Prepare the food to be fried and place it in the basket, making sure that it does not rise above 3/4 of its capacity. Allow the food to drain before placing it in the basket.
• Frozen food must be allowed for thaw beforehand. The placing of frozen food or food with high water content in the basket may cause the oil to suddenly spit after a few seconds.
• When the oil reaches the previously selected temperature, the red temperature indicator led goes out (E).
• Slowly place the basket in the bowl to avoid overflowing and splashing.
• THE COVER DESIGN MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO FRY WITH THE COVER DOWN.
• When the food has been fried sufficiently, lift the basket and position it in the support in order to allow the excess oil to drain from the food (Fig 9).
• Empty the basket.
• Change the oil approximately every

15 or 20 frying operations, or every 5 -6 months if not used frequently.
- Change the water every 2 or 3 days if used regularly. If not used regularly, empty the water and put the appliance away. Pour water again before using the appliance again.
- The oil and water removal must always be done with the oil cold.
- If you want to fry again, wait at least 5 minutes after pouring the last liquid to let oil and water separate.

After frying:

• Select the minimum position (0) using the thermostat control.
• Disconnect the fryer from the mains.
• Fit the power cord in place (Fig.7)
• If the appliance is not going to be used for a long time, let it cool down and then empty the water (empty it out until oil starts to come off the evacuation tube).

Practical recommendations:

• For food with a high water content, it is better and quicker to fry in two lots with less food than in just one. This will reduce the risk of splashes and spillage.
• The "two-stage frying method" can be used for an even and crispy coating. This system consists of first frying the food until it is reasonably well done and then frying again using very hot oil to brown the food.
• Olive oil with a minimum acidity level is recommendable for frying.
• Do not mix different oils.
• Wash potatoes before frying to stop them from sticking

• Disconnect the appliance from the

mains and allow it to cool before undertaking any cleaning task.
- Remove the frying basket and take the electrical device away. To remove the electrical device, rotate the resistance lift switch (Fig.8) unitl such a device comes out of its support guide.
- Remove the waste filter-basket.
- Open the tap(L) to pour water into a container and then pour the oil into another container (not the sink), according to the regulations in force for the treatment and disposal of waste
- Clean the equipment with a damp cloth with a few drops of washing-up liquid and then dry.
- Do not use solvents, or products with an acid or base pH such as bleach, or abrasive products, for cleaning the appliance.
- Never submerge the appliance in water or any other liquid or place it under running water.

• Take the appliance to an authorised technical support service if problems arise. Do not try to dismantle or repair without assistance, as this may be dangerous.
• If the connection to the mains has been damaged, it must be replaced and you should proceed as you would in the case of damage.

Ecology and recyclability of the product

• The materials of which the packaging of this appliance consists are included in a collection, classification and recycling system. Should you wish to dispose of them, use the appropriate public recycling
