USER MANUAL RKG127E Redmond
GBR RK-G127-E Carefully read all instructions before operating the appliance and save them for future reference. By carefully following these instructions you can considerably prolong the service life of your appliance. Important Safeguards
The manufacturer is not responsible for injuries caused by failure to comply with the safety requirements and operation rules of the appliance.
This appliance is intended to be used for nonindustrial use in house hold and similar spheres of application: staff kitchen areas in shops, ofces and other work ing environments, farm houses, by clients in hotels, motels and other residential envi ronments. Industrial application or any other misuse will be regarded as violation of proper service conditions. Should this happen, manufacturer is not responsible for possible consequences.
Before plugging in the appliance ensure that the circuit voltage matches operating voltage of the appliance (see technical specica- tions or manufacturer’s plate on the appliance).
Use an extension cord designed for the power consumption of the appliance as the parameter mismatch may result in a short circuit or re outbreak.
Use only earthed electric sockets as this is an obligatory safety require- ment. Use an earthed extension cord as well.
Unplug the appliance after use, while cleaning or moving. Remove the power cord with dry hands holding it by the plug, not cord. CAUTION! Appliance runs hot while operating. Do not touch the housing while the kettle is operating. Do not lean over the appliance when the lid is on to avoid scalds.
Use the appliance for its intended purpose only. Otherwise it will be considered as misuse.
Kettle may be used only with a specially designed base (included).
Do not place the cord in doorframes or by heat sources. Do not twist or bend the power cord, ensure that it is not in contact with sharp objects, corners and edges of furniture. Accidental damage to the power cord may cause electric shock or breakdown not covered by the terms of warranty. Promptly contact the service centre to have the damaged power cord replaced. Do not place the appliance on soft, unstable surface.
Do not put the kettle on temperature-sensitive surface, do not cover the appliance while it is in operation as it may result in a fault or breakdown of the appliance.
Do not use the appliance outdoors as ingress of moisture or foreign objects inside the housing can result in damage.
Before cleaning the appliance ensure that it is unplugged and has cooled down. Follow the instructions while cleaning the device. DO NOT immerse the appliance in water or keep in running water!
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
Keep the packaging (lm, foam plastic and other) out of reach of children as they may choke on them.4
1. Glass housing with water level
Carefully take the appliance and its detachable parts out of the package. Remove all wrap- ping materials and stickers except for the serial number identication sticker. No serial number identication sticker on the appliance automatically disables the user’s right to aftersales service. Wipe the base of the appliance with a damp cloth, then let it dry. You may notice foreign smell when using the appliance for the rst time. This does not mean its malfunction. After the appliance transportation or storage at low temperature keep it at room tempera- ture for at least two hours before plugging in. You are advised to boil water in the kettle a few times before the rst use to get foreign smell out and disinfect the appliance.
1. Place the kettle on at solid horizontal and dry surface. Avoid steam getting on wallpaper,
decorative coating, electronic appliances and other objects that may be affected by steam.
2. Ensure that the kettle is off (I/0 button on the handle is in O position). Plug in the

4. Fill the kettle with cold water. Water level should be between the MIN and MAX marks. Too
much water may result in fresh boiling water splashing. Too little water may cause early shut-off (should this happen, unplug the appliance, let it cool down for 15-20 minutes). CAUTION! The appliance is intended to be used only for water heating and boiling.
5. Put down the lid. Press the upper edge of the lock and click it to lock the lid. Put the
kettle onto the base. The appliance operates only if correctly placed.
Press I/0 button on the kettle handle. Blue inner illumination will be on, the appliance will start operating.
7. Once water has boiled, the kettle will switch off automatically. Inner illumination will
be off, while I/0 button will remain in I position.
8. To switch off the appliance press I/0 button in 0 position.
CAUTION! In case you take the kettle off the base without switching it off, inner illumination will be off, while I/0 button will remain in I position. The kettle will resume operation once you have placed it on the base. You are advised to switch off the appliance every time you take it off pressing I/0 button in 0 position.
9. Once you have nished, unplug the device.5
III. APPLIANCE HANDLING
CAUTION! Before cleaning the kettle or the kettle base unplug the appliance, drain water and let the unit cool down. Regularly clean the kettle housing and wipe the base with a damp cloth. Let the kettle and kettle base dry thoroughly before use. DO NOT immerse the base of the appliance in water or keep in running water! DO NOT use sponges with hard or abrasive surface, abrasive scouring substances and solvents (benzine, ethyl acetate and others. While in operation scale deposits may form on both the heating element and the housing inner walls of the appliance depending on water type being used. Use special nonabrasive cleaning substances for kitchen utensils and appliances.

4. Wipe the appliance with a damp cloth.
CAUTION! Before use ensure that electric contacts of the appliance are dry.

We warrant this product to be free from defects for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase. If the appliance fails to operate properly within the warranty period and is found to be defec- tive in material or workmanship, we will repair or replace it free of charge. This warranty comes into force only in case an original warranty service coupon with a serial article number and an accurate impress of the company of the seller proves the purchase date. This limited warranty does not cover damage caused by the failure to use this product for its normal purpose or in accordance with the instructions on the proper use and maintenance of the product, or any kind of repair works. Do not try to disassemble the appliance and keep all package contents. This warranty does not cover normal wear of the appliance and its parts (lters, bulbs, non-stick coating, gaskets, etc.). Service life and the applicable product warranty period start on the date of purchase or the date of manufacture (if the purchase date cannot be established). You can determine manufacture date by serial number, located on the identication label on the housing of the appliance. The serial number consists of 13 digits. 6th and 7th digits of the serial number identify the month, 8th digit the year of manufacture. Service life of the product, established by the manufacturer is 3 years from the date of purchase, provided that the appliance is used and maintained in accordance with the user manual and applicable technical standards. Environmentally friendly disposal (WEEE) The packaging, user manual and the device itself shall be taken to the appli- cable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. Do not throw away the electronic waste to help protect the environment. Old appliances must not be disposed with other household waste but must be collected separately. Municipal disposal of recyclable wastes is free of charge. The owners of old appliances are required to bring it to a waste facility centre. With this little extra effort, you can help to ensure that valuable raw materials are recycled and pollutants are treated as appropriate. This appliance is labelled in accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EU — concerning used electrical and electronic appliances (waste electrical and electronic equipment WEEE).
