Where should I place The Ball for the best sound?

For an optimal listening experience, place The Ball in a corner or near a wall. The bass will be stronger than in an open position. Experiment to find the ideal position in your room.

How do I clean the The Ball speaker?

Use only a lint-free dust cloth. Never use detergents or chemical cleaners.

What should I do if the device does not turn on?

Check that the power cord is properly plugged into a working outlet. Ensure the plug matches the polarization (wide blade in wide slot). If the problem persists, contact your dealer or Scandyna.

What do the different LED colors mean?

Solid blue LED: device on. Dim blue LED: standby or off. Flashing blue LED: mute or volume adjustment (flashes until maximum or minimum is reached).

How do I adjust the volume and crossover frequency?

Use the volume knob on the panel (360° rotation) or the remote control. The crossover frequency is adjustable between 40 and 140 Hz. Adjust it to the point where the bass from your front speakers drops off for a seamless transition.

Can I use The Ball with any amplifier?

The Ball is designed to be used with Scandyna products (The Amp, The Dock, The V-Dock) and compatible speakers (Minipod, The Drop, Micropod SE). It can be connected to other amplifiers via the RCA input, but follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

What should I do in case of overheating?

The device has over-temperature protection. Turn it off, unplug it, and let it cool down. Ensure the ventilation openings are not blocked and it is placed away from heat sources.

How do I use the remote control?

The remote control allows you to turn the device on/off, adjust volume, and activate mute. Point it towards the front of The Ball. Actions are confirmed by the LED (flashing for volume, etc.).

Can I repair the device myself?

No, the device contains no user-serviceable parts. Do not open the enclosure. For any repairs, contact a qualified technician or Scandyna customer service.

Which speakers are compatible with The Ball?

Thank you for choosing the ball. The ball is a digitally amplified subwoofer which combines unique design with high quality audio for reproducing precise and deep bass.

The ball is easy placeable and for maximum sound experience we recommend you to experiment to find the best place in your listening room for getting the optimal sound from the ball. Please note that the bass will seem louder when the ball is placed in a corner or close to a wall than if it stands alone.

Volume:	When adjusting the volume, the LED Light will blink, until the volume is MAX or MIN.
REMARK:	After 10-15 minutes without signal the ball will go in standby mode/ LED Blue light les bright.

Connect the ball to your amplifier through the line input sockets.

We recommend to adjust the volume of the ball to the “overall sound” of your stereo set-up while listening to a favorite track. The subvolume will follow when you turn up/down for the volume on your amplifier.

The crossover frequency should be adjusted to the point where the bass of your front speakers are “giving up”. The more precise you are able to find this point which can be for example around 80 Hz – the more precise the overall sound will be.

The phase function allows you to “reverse” the phase of the subwoofer’s output

signal for correcting any out of phase between the ball and your frontspeakers/amplifier. You should experiment with the position of the switch while listening to music. The position which sounds best is the correct one.
