Frequently Asked Questions - MicroPod SE SCANDYNA

What is the ideal positioning of the MicroPod SE?
Place the MicroPod SE preferably as a tweeter at ear level in a seated position. Use the recessed spike feet or optional wall mount. For a Home Theater system, place the front speakers about 1 meter on each side of the TV, at a height between the center and the top of the screen.
How to connect the MicroPod SE speakers to my amplifier?
Turn off all equipment before connecting. Use the binding posts: connect the red (positive) terminal of the MicroPod SE to the positive terminal of the amplifier, and the black (negative) terminal to the negative terminal. The terminals accept up to 4mm diameter conductors or banana plugs.
Are the MicroPod SE magnetically shielded?
Yes, the main drivers and tweeters are magnetically shielded. You can place them near a TV without risk of electromagnetic interference or image distortion.
What is the recommended break-in period before final adjustment?
Scandyna recommends a break-in period of 15 to 20 hours at normal listening level. This allows the components to stabilize for optimal sound reproduction before deciding on placement and final adjustment.
How to clean the MicroPod SE speakers?
Use a soft damp cloth (with clean cold water only) to dust or clean the lacquered surface. Never use solvents or harsh cleaners. Avoid touching the acoustic components, especially the tweeter, to prevent damage.
What does the limited warranty of the MicroPod SE cover?
The one-year limited warranty covers material and manufacturing defects for the original purchaser. It does not cover damage caused by incorrect transport, misuse, normal wear, power surges, incorrect installation, unauthorized repairs, or acts of God.
How to make a warranty claim?
Contact the dealer from whom you purchased the speakers. You must present the warranty booklet completed and stamped by the dealer or the original invoice with the purchase date. Shipping costs for sending the product for repair are not covered.
Can I use the MicroPod SE as a center speaker in a Home Theater system?
Yes, the MicroPod SE can be used as a speaker for front or surround channels. For a 5.1 setup, place two speakers at the front and two at the rear, with a subwoofer. Refer to the diagrams in the manual for 6.1 and 7.1 configurations.
What type of amplifier is recommended for the MicroPod SE?
The MicroPod SE is compatible with any stereo amplifier or audio-video receiver with speaker output terminals for passive speakers. Ensure that the amplifier's impedance and power are suitable (check your amplifier's specifications).
Is the MicroPod SE compliant with environmental standards?
Yes, it is compliant with RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directives. The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on the device indicates that it must be recycled properly.

ENGLISH / Home Theatre Systems

MicroPod SE can be used as front channels in a surround sound home theatre system.

Positioning the front loudspeakers within approximately 1 metre of the sides of your TV will create the best sound image in scale with the visual image.

The height of MicroPod SE should ideally be between the centre and top of the TV screen.

If the loudspeakers are to be used for reproducing the surround channels in a multi channel home theatre system, we suggest you place them as illustrated in Figures 2 to 4 depending on the number of channels.

ENGLISH / Magnetic interference

MicroPod SE tweeter and woofer drive units are magnetically shielded ensuring that the magnetic field outside the cabinet, except the front, is too low to cause distortion of the TV picture, and you can place MicroPod SE as close to the TV screen as possible without causing visual interference or electromagnetic interference.

ENGLISH / Connecting your loudspeakers

We recommend that you read the manual of your amplifier or av-receiver carefully before connecting your MicroPod SE loudspeakers. Please switch off all equipment when connecting MicroPod SE. The binding posts on the terminal accepts wire up to ∅ 4mm or cables with bananaplugs.

Make sure that the positive terminal binding posts on MicroPod SE (coloured red) are connected to the positive output terminal binding posts on the amplifier and that the negative terminals on MicroPod SE (coloured black) are connected to the negative output terminal on the amplifier.

connecting cable consists of a round and a square cable. that the square cable is connected to the black binding post and the round connected to the red binding post on both speakers.

You are now ready to enjoy the great sound of MicroPod SE.

ENGLISH / Running-in period

We recommend a running-in period of your new MicroPod SE loudspeaker of approximately 15-20 hours at normal listening level before you decide on the final positioning of the loudspeaker. During the running-in period, the drive units will settle in and perform as intended.

ENGLISH / Care and cleaning

We strongly advise against the use of any solvents or cleaners on the lacquered MicroPod SE cabinet. The cabinet surface usually only requires dusting or cleaning with a damp soft cloth (only use cold clean water). Avoid touching the drive units, especially the tweeter, as damage may result.

ENGLISH / Environmental information

MicroPod SE complies with international directives on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) in electrical and electronic equipment and the disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) - the crossed bin symbol indicates compliance and that the products must be appropriately recycled or processed in accordance with these directives.
