No, this barbecue is designed for outdoor use only. Using it in an enclosed space (house, tent, caravan...) poses a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

What type of charcoal should I use?

It is strongly recommended to use lump charcoal, compliant with EN 1860-3. Never use mineral coal.

What is the maximum amount of charcoal I can put in the barbecue?

The maximum amount is 1 kg of charcoal. Do not exceed this limit to avoid any risk of overheating.

How do I light the fire properly?

Use only suitable firelighters. Never use alcohol, gasoline or other flammable liquids. Before cooking, check that the fuel is covered with ashes.

How do I open the lid safely?

When the barbecue is hot, lift the lid slightly to let air in gradually. This prevents flashbacks that could cause injuries.

How do I extinguish the fire after use?

Stop adding fuel, then close all ventilation holes and the lid to smother the embers. Never use water, as it could damage the barbecue.

Can I move the barbecue while in use?

No, the barbecue gets very hot. Never move it while in use or before it cools completely.

Where should I place my barbecue?

Place it on a flat, horizontal, heat-resistant and non-flammable surface, at least 2 meters from any flammable material. Avoid wooden decks, dry grass or wood chips.

How do I clean the barbecue?

Wait until the barbecue is completely cooled, then remove the ashes and clean the grate and surfaces with a suitable brush. Lubricate the hinges twice a year.

Read these instructions thoroughly before using the appliance. Keep this instruction manual for future reference or new users.

• Before starting to cook, check that the fuel is coated with ash.
• WARNING! The barbecue will get very hot, do not move it during use!
• Do not use indoors!
• WARNING! Do not use alcohol or gasoline to ignite or fuel the fire! Only use ignition fuels conforming to EN 1860-3.
• WARNING! Keep the barbecue out of the reach of children and pets!
• Do not use the barbecue in an enclosed and/or habitable space, e.g. house, tent, caravan, motor home, boat. Danger of fatal carbon monoxide poisoning.

• This appliance is designed for outdoor use only. Do not use indoors.
• Never leave fire burning unattended.
• Do not use this appliance under awnings, umbrellas or pergolas.
• FIRE HAZARD: hot embers may be emitted during use.

It lasts longer and produces less ash, which can restrict airflow.

• Do not use charcoal in this appliance.
• IMPORTANT: when opening the lid at high temperatures, it is essential to lift it only slightly, allowing air to enter slowly and safely, avoiding any backdraft or flame that could cause injury.
• Do not use the barbecue on wooden decks or other flammable surfaces such as dry grass, wood chips, leaves or decorative bark.
• Make sure that the barbecue is placed at least 2 metres away from flammable elements.
• Do not use the barbecue as a melting furnace.
• Heat-resistant gloves should always be worn, especially when handling the air vent, hot ceramics or the cooking surface.
• Allow the appliance to cool down completely before moving or storing it.
• The barbecue should always be inspected before use for fatigue and damage and must be repaired, when necessary, by contacting the official Cecotec Technical Support Service.
• The maximum amount of charcoal for this barbecue is 1 kg.
• To extinguish the fire: stop adding fuel and close all vents and the lid to allow the fire to extinguish naturally.
• Do not use water to extinguish the charcoal, as this may damage the barbecue.
• Tighten the bands and grease the hinge 2 times a year or more if necessary.
• Ensure that the barbecue is placed on a fix, flat, level, heat-resistant, non-flammable surface away from flammable items.
• Ensure that the barbecue has at least 2 metres of clearance

above and 2 metres away from any surrounding objects.

• To light a fire, place rolled up newspaper with some lighter cubes or ignition tablets on the charcoal plate at the base of the barbecue. Then, place 1 or 2 handfuls of lump charcoal on top of the newspaper.
• Do not use gasoline, alcohol, lighter fluid, alcohol or other similar chemicals to ignite or rekindle.
• Open the bottom vent and light the newspaper using a long-shafted lighter or safety matches. Once lit, leave the bottom vent and lid open for about 10 minutes to create a small bed of hot coals.
• It is recommended not to remove or turn the coals once they are lit. This allows the coals to burn more evenly and efficiently.
• Once ignited, only use heat-resistant gloves when handling hot ceramics or firing surfaces.
• It is recommended that the barbecue is heated, and the fuel is kept red hot for at least 30 minutes before the first cooking.
• Do not cook before the fuel has an ash layer.
• With the vents closed, the barbecue stays at a high temperature for several hours. If you need a longer cooking time (e.g. when roasting a whole piece or slow smoking), it may be necessary to add more charcoal. Just add more charcoal and continue.

2. BEFORE USE

• This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place to prevent damage to the device if you need to transport it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
• Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.

3. PRODUCT ASSEMBLY

STEP 1:

Attach the three brackets (2) to the triangular connection plate (3) using the screws (A) and cap nuts (B), as shown in figure 2. Then, screw the rubber stoppers (10) with the help of the screws (A), as shown in figure 2.

STEP 2:

To attach the side grab handles (4) to the base ring (1), fit the holes of the handle bolts into the screws previously placed in the ring. Next, fix the side grab handles (4) by screwing the cap nuts (B) onto the screws until they are securely fastened. Fig. 3

STEP 3:

Attach the base ring to the already mounted brackets using the screws (A) and cap nuts (B). Fig. 3

STEP 4:

When the barbecue body (8) is correctly positioned on the steel base, insert the firebox (7), charcoal plate (6) and cooking grill (5) into the barbecue body as shown in figure 4.

STEP 5:

To attach the opening handle (9) to the top lid of the barbecue body (8), fit the bolt holes of the handle into the screws previously placed in the lid. After that, fix the opening handle (9) by screwing the cap nuts (B) onto the screws until it is securely fastened. Fig. 5

4. OPERATION

• To light the fire, place rolled up newspaper with a few cubes or ignition tablets on the charcoal plate at the base of the barbecue. Then place one or two handfuls of charcoal on the newspaper.
• Do not use gasoline, alcohol, lighter fluid, alcohol or other similar chemicals to ignite charcoal.
• Open the bottom vent and light the newspaper using a long-shafted lighter or safety matches. Once lit, leave the bottom vent and lid open for about 10 minutes to create a

small layer of hot coals.

• It is recommended not to fan or turn the embers once they are lit. This allows the coal to burn more evenly and efficiently.
• Once ignited, only use heat-resistant gloves when handling hot ceramics or cooking surfaces.
• Allow the charcoal to heat up and remain red hot for at least 30 minutes before cooking for the first time on the barbecue.
• Do not cook before the coals have a layer of ash.
• To extinguish the fire, stop adding charcoal or kindling and close all vents and the top lid to allow the fire to burn out naturally.
• Do not use water to extinguish the fire or ashes, as this could damage the barbecue ceramics.

5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Regular cleaning

• Before cleaning, you must ensure that the barbecue is completely cool and that all charcoal is extinguished.
• Use an ash tool to remove the remaining charcoal and dispose of the ash. Be sure to

remove all ash and dispose of it by wrapping the cold ashes in aluminium foil, soaking them in water and then disposing of them in a non-combustible container.

- Wipe the outside of the barbecue with a damp cloth to remove any spilled ingredients or residues. Avoid excessive rubbing of the band to prevent damage. The bands are cleaned during regular use of the barbecue.

Deep cleaning

• Once or twice a year, the inside of the barbecue should be cleaned more thoroughly.
• Before cleaning, make sure that the barbecue has cooled down completely and that all charcoal has been extinguished.
• Remove the internal components and any residual ash or debris that has collected between the barbecue body and the internal components.
• Use a plastic bristle brush to clean the inside ceramic surface.
• Collect or vacuum all debris from the underside of the barbecue.
• Clean the hinge and the outside of the barbecue.
• Replace all internal components when they are completely dry.
