  • All safety instructions must be closely followed when using the appliance.
  • When using electrical and electronic appliances, basic precautions must always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury.
  • This appliance is designed for domestic use only and is not intended for bars, restaurants, farmhouses, hotels, motels, and offices.
  • Check the power cable for visible damage. If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, the supplier, or qualified personnel to avoid hazards.
  • Do not immerse the cable, plug, or any other part of the appliance in water or any other liquid or expose electrical connections to water. Make sure your hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the appliance.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and people with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance.
    Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried out by unsupervised children.
  • Supervise children to prevent them from playing with the appliance. Close supervision is necessary if the appliance is used by or near children.
  • The plug of the power cable must be removed from the base before cleaning or servicing the appliance.

  • Keep the packaging materials out of the reach of children, as they could be dangerous.
  • This symbol means “caution, hot surface.” The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is in operation. Be careful not to burn yourself.
  • Place the appliance on a dry, stable, flat, heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep the appliance away from heat sources, direct sunlight, humidity, and sharp edges.
  • A minimum safety distance of 15 cm should be kept between the appliance and the wall or flammable objects such as curtains, cloths, wall hangings, tea towels, etc.
  • This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or a separate remote control.
  • Weight must be distributed evenly on the grill.
  • The appliance maximum load is 2 kg: make sure you don't exceed it.
  • WARNING: charcoal or similar fuels must not be used with this appliance.
  • The device must be supplied via a residual current device

2. BEFORE USE

  • This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place to prevent damage to the device if you need to transport it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
  • Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.
  • Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the grill (1) and the grease-collection tray (6).

Warning: smoke might be observed during first use due to manufacturing residue. Make sure the grease-collection tray and the grill itself are clean and dry before switching the latter on.

3. ASSEMBLING THE APPLIANCE

  1. Always place the appliance on a flat, dry, and stable surface.
  2. Insert the grease-collection tray in the main body of the appliance.
  3. Place the heating element inside the grease-collection tray.
  4. Place the grill on the heating element and the grease-collection tray and adjust it as desired.

4. OPERATION

- Once the appliance is properly assembled, fill in the grease-collection tray with water up to the "MAX" mark.

Warning: always make sure to fill the grease-collection tray with water when using the appliance to avoid flames caused by greasy food.

Set the temperature knob to the desired temperature:

  • Low or medium temperature for warming foods.
  • High temperature for fast cooking or grilling.
  • The indicator light will turn on when temperature is set and will turn off when the desired temperature is reached.
  • Place food directly on the grid.

Warning: do not place plates, trays or aluminium foil directly on the grid.

  • Grilling time will vary depending on the food thickness and type.
  • It is suggested to turn over foods during the grilling process.
  • Once food is cooked, remember to turn the temperature knob to "0" and unplug the power cable from the socket.

Note:

The heating elements are fitted with a safety switch which prevents their operation outside the grease-collection tray. If the heating elements do not switch on, please check the connection in order to make sure that they are properly fitted into the housing.

5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
  • Do not hold or transport the appliance while it is hot.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
  • Never use strong detergents, petrol, abrasive powders, or a metal brush to clean any part of the appliance.
  • No part or component is dishwasher safe.
