- After removing the packaging, check that the appliance is in perfect condition. If in doubt, contact your nearest Technical Assistance centre.
- The packaging materials (plastic bags, polystyrene foam etc.) should be kept out of the reach of children, as they could constitute a safety hazard.
The use of adapters, and/or extension
leads is not advised. In the event of their use being absolutely necessary, always ensure that they conform to current safety standards, and take care not to exceed the indicated maximum voltage.
- Never use adaptors if the voltage is not given on the unit's underside (technical data plate).
- This appliance is for domestic use only. Any other use is considered unsuitable and dangerous.
- The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage resulting from improper use or repairs carried out by unqualified personnel.
Certain fundamental rules must be respected when using any electric appliance, particularly:

4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Adjustment
Before using it for the first time, make sure that the vacuum chamber and the appliance parts which come into contact with the food are clean. Follow the cleaning instructions in the "5. Maintenance and Cleaning" section.
Vacuum packing
- Put the appliance in a dry place. Make sure that the work area in front of the appliance is obstacle free and is wide enough for the food bags. Plug it in.
- Make sure that the bag you want to use is at least 8 cm (3.1 in.) longer than the food. If you want to reuse the bag, you must take into account that you will need 2 cm more (0.8 in.) each time you want to reuse it.
- Raise the cover (F) and place the food inside the bag, taking care not to cause wrinkles or tension on the surface. Remove the liquids or the residue from the food inside the bag which is about to be sealed. Put the bag with its contents in front of the machine positioning it inside the vacuum chamber (H) (Figure 2).
IMPORTANT: Make sure the bag is centred in the vacuum sealer.
- Make sure both sides of the bag are inside the sealing area but under the vacuum nozzle (L), as this nozzle is the vacuum pump hole.
- Close the lid and press down on both sides of it in the areas with the raised dots, until you hear the two clicks indicating the lid has closed. (FIG 3)
- Press the "vacuum sealing button" (A). The appliance will automatically vacuum seal the bag.
- If you need to stop the vacuum sealing operation for any reason (e.g. if the bag is not correctly placed), press the "Stop" button (C).
- When the vacuum (D) and sealing (E) pilot lights switch off, press the two lid opening buttons (K). (FIG 4)
- Check the appearance of the sealed bag; it should have a tape along the sealing and no wrinkles; if not, the sealing is possibly not complete.
- We recommend vacuum sealing only one bag a minute, to give the appliance time to recover.
- We recommend you leave the appliance to stand for 15 minutes after vacuum sealing 10 bags consecutively. This will prolong the lifetime of your appliance.
Recommendation: If the food you are sealing have sharp edges, such as bones, spaghetti or seafood, put kitchen paper around these edges to avoid them ripping the bag.
Information on the bags
This appliance can use bags available on the market which are suitable for vacuum packing. However, Fagor only guarantees correct functioning of the appliance with the bags and accessories in its own range. Fagor bags can be reused, they are suitable for the microwave and freezer and they can be boiled. Before reusing a bag, wash it first as indicated in "Maintenance and Cleaning"
Making one bag from a roll of bags A roll of bags enabling bags of any size
to be created may be used. To do this, proceed as follows:
- Unroll and place the end of the roll in the sealing area, then close the lid and press down on both sides in the areas with the raised dots until you hear the two clicks indicating the lid has closed. (FIG 3)
- Press the "sealing button" (B). The sealing light (E) will switch on.
- When the sealing light (E) switches off, the bag has been sealed.
- Press the lid opening buttons (K) and remove the bag.
- Cut the roll of bags to the desired size. The bag is now ready.
Vacuum adjustment function
You may remove the bag when it reaches the desired vacuum level. Follow the standard procedure described above to create the vacuum inside the bags. During this operation, while the vacuum light (D) is flashing, briefly press the "Stop" button (C). After this operation, press the seal button (B) to seal the bag.
5. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Cleaning
- Wash your hands before cleaning the machine and its accessories.
- Make sure the unit is unplugged before cleaning it.
- Clean the outer surfaces of the appliance with a damp cloth (no detergent) before and after use.
- Do not use detergents or abrasive products to clean the appliance
- Do not submerge the appliance in water to clean it
Warning: Make sure the unit is unplugged before cleaning it. If liquid is spilt accidentally in any part of the unit, do not plug it in or try to reuse it. Contact the authorised technical service or supplier.
Re-using Fagor bags
If you want to re-use a used Fagor bag, firstly you must clean it using neutral soap and leave it to dry completely before using
it again. They can also be washed in the dishwasher.
Maintenance
The seals on the upper (G) and lower (J) closures deteriorate with use and need to be replaced with new seals.
Regular cleaning will prolong their lifetime. The lower closure seal can be taken out for cleaning. Press it to remove excess water and dry it, then fit it back into the appliance, pressing it in place. The upper closure seal is glued to the appliance, so it should be cleaned with a damp cloth and pressed to remove excess water.
WARNING: Leave the lid open when the unit is not in use, as closing the unit deforms the seals and it will not create a vacuum correctly.
You should reverse the position of the lower seal from time to time. To do this, remove the seal and replace it the other way round.
6. TROUBLE SHOOTING
Here are the steps to follow if you experience problems with the product.
The appliance does not work.
- Make sure that the unit is plugged in correctly. Check the electrical socket by plugging in another appliance.
- Check if the cable or plug is damaged. If so, do not try to work it again.
- Check the bag is not covering the vacuum nozzle (L). If it is, place the bag under the vacuum nozzle (L) and press the vacuum sealing button again (A).
The unit does not create a complete vacuum inside the bags
- The open end of the bag should remain completely inside the vacuum chamber coupling.
- Check for impurities in the sealing seals and the seals. Clean them and put them back in the correct position.
- Turn the useful side of the lower seal over by turning it.
- The bag could have a hole in it. To check this, seal the bag with some air
inside, submerge the bag in water and squeeze it. Bubbles will indicate that there is a leak. Seal it again or use another bag
The bags have not sealed correctly
- The cause could be the sealing bar overheating or the bag has melted. Open the cover and let the sealing bar cool for several minutes.
The bag did not maintain the vacuum after being sealed
- This can be caused by a leak due to wrinkles, crumbs, fat or liquid. Open the bag, clean the upper part and remove any foreign matter from the sealing bar before trying to seal it again.
Make sure that the bag does not have
any holes. If the food to be sealed has sharp edges, first cover it with serviettes or kitchen paper.
7. DURATION OF VACUUM PACKED FOOD
Vacuum packing processes prolong the life of food by eliminating most of the air in the sealed receptacle, thereby reducing oxidation which affects the nutritional value, their flavour and above all the quality. Expelling air also inhibits proliferation of micro-organisms Below is a list of the storage times for vacuum packed foods. 8. INFORMATION FOR THE CORRECT DISPOSAL OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC APPLIANCES

At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this
service. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health deriving from inappropriate disposal and enables the constituent materials to be recovered to obtain significant savings in energy and resources.
To remind you that you must collaborate with a selective collection scheme, the symbol shown appears on the product warning you not to dispose of it in traditional refuse containers.
For further information, contact your local authority or the shop where you bought the product.
