SAFETY WARNINGS

- After having removed the appliance from its packaging, verify its integrity based on the drawing and any presence of damage caused by transport. If in doubt, do not use the appliance and contact an authorised service centre.

• Do not let children play with the packaging! Keep the plastic bag out of the reach of children - risk of suffocation!
• Before connecting the appliance, make sure that the voltage data (9) specified on the identification technical data correspond to those of the available mains voltage. The identification technical data are found on the appliance (9).
• This appliance must be used only for the purpose for which it was designed, namely as a hair straightener for home use. Any other use is considered not compliant and therefore dangerous.
• When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched off.
• For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA (ideal 10 mA) is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.

ATTENTION: Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water. Never place the appliance in water.

- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Do NOT use the appliance with wet hands, damp feet or barefoot.
Do NOT pull the power cable or the appliance itself to remove the plug from the socket.
Do NOT expose the appliance to humidity or weather conditions (rain, sun, etc.).

- Always disconnect the appliance from the mains supply before cleaning or performing maintenance and when the appliance is not in use.

- If the appliance is faulty or malfunctions, switch it off and do not tamper with it. Any repairs must only be carried out by an authorised technical service centre.

If the power cable is damaged it must be replaced by an authorised technical service centre, so as to prevent all risks.

• The device must only be used on human hair. Do not use the device on animals or on wigs made of synthetic material.
• Use a dry cloth to clean the appliance.

DO NOT spray hairspray while the appliance is switched on. There is a risk of fire.

USEFUL TIPS

A quick understanding of how to use the hair straightener will allow you to establish the exact application time to achieve the desired effect on your hair.

• Ensure your hair is dry, clean and without any trace of hairspray, hair mousse or gel.
• Comb your hair ensuring there are no knots. Start styling from the nape of the neck, proceed on the sides and finish on the forehead.
• When using the hair straightener, while it is heating or cooling, place it on a smooth and heat resistant surface.
• While straightening the hair, be careful not to bring the plates too close to sensitive parts of the face, ears, neck or skin.
  • Leave the plates to cool down completely when finished, before putting the appliance away.

USE

PREPARING YOUR HAIR

• Wash hair as normal and comb to remove knots.
  • Dry your hair and brush from the roots to the ends.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

• Connect the plug to the mains.
• Press the Ⓐ button (6). The LCD display (3) will light up pale pink.

- Select manual or intellistyle operating mode by pressing ▶▶ (5): the words manual and intellistyle will flash alternatively and the display will change colour from pale pink to blue.

- To confirm manual mode (manual is flashing) press ① (6). manual is steady on the display (3) to show the selection. The display is pale pink. See the Instructions for use paragraph: Manual mode

- To select the intellistyle mode (intellistyle is flashing) press Ⓞ (6). intellistyle is steady on the display to show the selection. The display is blue. See the Instructions for use paragraph: Intellistyle mode.

- If you wish to change your selection press BACK (4) until the display returns to the main screen for selection between manual mode and intellistyle mode. Now press▶▶ 5 to change from manual mode to intellistyle mode or vice versa.

NOTE: For all uses after the first one, when switched on, if no key is pressed within 15 seconds, the straightener is automatically set at the last setting selected.

Manual mode

- Repeatedly press (5) to selected the desired temperature. The temperature flashes.

- Press ①(6) to confirm the temperature selected. The temperature level selected is steady and the °C starts flashing to indicate that the straightener is heating. The °C becomes steady when the temperature set is reached. The straightener is ready to use.

NOTE: The temperature can be selected between 140°C and 220°C. During selection ▶▶ (5), the temperature varies ascending up to a maximum of 220°C which then starts again at 140°C; the display remains pale pink. When the desired temperature has been confirmed, the display turns a shade of colour that is more or less intense depending on whether the temperature selected is higher or lower.

- If you wish to enable the key lock, press ⏻ (6) twice quickly. The padlock 🔒 appears on the display. This function prevents accidental temperature changes while using the straightener. To disable the key lock, press ⏻ (6) twice again quickly.

• Take a thin lock of hair, the same width as the plate and place it between the two plates.

- Keep the lock of hair taut with one hand and, with the other hand, slide the closed plate from the roots down to the ends.

- In manual mode it is recommended to start styling by setting the lowest temperature and gradually increasing it according to the desired style.

- If you wish to select the intellistyle mode press BACK (4) twice and follow the indications in the INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE paragraph; Intellistyle mode.

- Press ▶▶(5) and the icons flash one after the other. To select the icon corresponding with your hair type, press ⏱ (6). The icon becomes steady on the display and the other two disappear.

• If you wish to change your selection press BACK ↩ (4) and repeat the selection.

- During heating of the straightener, the range of symbols lights up in succession and the display changes intensity of the colour until the temperature for the hair type selected has been reached. The range is steady. The straightener is ready to use.

- If you wish to enable the key lock, press ⏻ (6) twice quickly. The padlock appears on the display. This function prevents accidental temperature changes while using the straightener. To disable the key lock, press ⏻ (6) twice again quickly.

Switching off the product

• Press ①(6) for at least two seconds to switch the product off.
• Disconnect the straightener from the socket.

NOTE: If the straightener is switched off but is not disconnected from the socket, the background colour of the display remains on until a temperature of about 70^ C has been reached; this indicates that the straightener is still hot.

Plate closing system

• The straightener has a closing system
- To fasten the two arms in the closed position, hold them together and press the plates lock (7)
• To unlock, press the plates lock on the opposite side

NOTE: steam may appear while straightening; this is excess humidity in the hair evaporating.

NOTE: If the background colour of the display flashes red or magenta the straightener has a fault. Contact an assistance centre.

ATTENTION! Risk of scalding

AUTOMATIC SWITCH-OFF

The straightener switches off automatically 1 hour after being switched on.

CLEANING

• Switch off the appliance by from the socket
  pressing ① (6) for at least two seconds and disconnect the plug (8)
• Wait for the plates (2) to cool down
• Clean the surface of the plates (2) and the handle with a soft, damp cloth.

ATTENTION! Make sure all cleaned parts are completely dry before reusing the appliance.

STORING AND CARING FOR THE PRODUCT

WARNING: Once you have finished using the hair straightener, make sure it has cooled down completely before putting it away. Never wrap the power cable (8) around the appliance.

DISPOSAL

The product is packaged in recyclable materials. Dispose of packaging in accordance with the environmental protection standards. Pursuant to Art. 26 of Italian Legislative Decree no. 49 of 14 March 2014 "Implementation of Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)", the crossed bin symbol on the appliance or its packaging indicates that the product must be disposed of separately from other waste at the end of its useful life.

The user must therefore take the appliance to an appropriate recycling centre for electrical and electronic equipment.

Alternatively, instead of handling the disposal, the appliance can be handed over to the retailer when a new, equivalent appliance is purchased. Retailers of electronic products having a sales area of at least 400 m2 can also be handed electronic products that are to be disposed of measuring less than 25 cm, free of charge and with no obligation to buy. Appropriate separate collection for the subsequent procedure for the decommissioned appliance for recycling, which includes treatment and environmentally friendly disposal helps prevent adverse effects on the environment and health and promotes reusing and/or recycling materials that the appliance consists of.

ASSISTANCE AND WARRANTY

The appliance is guaranteed for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase. Evidence shall be constituted by the date indicated on the receipt/invoice (provided it is legible), unless the buyer can prove that the delivery occurred later. In the case of a defective product existing prior to the date of delivery, IMETEC guarantees to repair or replace the appliance at no cost, unless one of the two solutions is disproportionate to the other. The buyer has the obligation to notify an IMETEC Service Centre of the non-conformity within two months after discovering the defect.

The warranty does not cover any part that may be defective due to:

a. damage from transport or accidental drops,
b. incorrect installation or inadequate electrical system,
c. repairs or alterations made by unauthorised personnel,
d. poor or incorrect maintenance and cleaning,
e. product and/or product parts subject to wear and/or consumables,
f. failure to comply with the appliance's operating instructions, negligent or careless use.

The list above is purely indicative and not exhaustive and in any case, this warranty shall not cover all circumstances that cannot be attributed to manufacturing defects of the appliance. The warranty also does not cover any case of improper use of the appliance and professional use. IMETEC declines all responsibility for any damage that may directly or indirectly be caused to persons, property and pets as a result of failure to comply with all the instructions provided in the Instructions and Warnings Manual regarding appliance installation, use and maintenance. This is without prejudice to any contractual warranty claims against the seller.

Methods of support

Appliance repairs must be carried out by an IMETEC Service Centre.

The faulty appliance, if under warranty, must be sent to the Assistance Centre together with a fiscal document that certifies the date of sale or delivery.
