Frequently Asked Questions - Gluefix STEINEL

What types of glue sticks to use with the Gluefix?
Use standard glue sticks of diameter 11 mm suitable for hot glue guns. Glue sticks made of polyamide (PA) or ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) are compatible.
How to adjust the temperature of the glue gun?
The Steinel Gluefix is equipped with an adjustable temperature regulator from 120 °C to 200 °C. Turn the dial on the side to adjust the temperature to the glue type and material.
Why doesn't the glue come out or does it leak?
If the glue does not come out, check that the stick is properly inserted and that the gun is hot enough (wait 60 seconds). If it leaks, lower the temperature or release the trigger. Clean the nozzle if it is clogged.
How to clean the glue gun after use?
Let the device cool down, then wipe the exterior with a dry cloth. For the nozzle, remove it when warm and clean it gently. Never immerse the device in water.
The glue gun stops automatically: is this normal?
Yes, the Gluefix has an automatic shut-off after 30 minutes of inactivity to save energy and avoid risks. Simply press the trigger to reactivate it.
Can I use the glue gun cordless?
No, the Steinel Gluefix is a corded model that operates on 230 V mains. For cordless use, check out the Steinel Gluefix Cordless range.
How to replace the nozzle?
Caution: wait for the device to cool down. Unscrew the used nozzle with pliers, then screw the new nozzle into place. Tighten moderately to avoid damage.
What materials can I glue with this gun?
The Gluefix is suitable for gluing wood, plastic, glass, ceramic, textiles, and metal. For heat-sensitive materials, use a lower temperature.
What to do in case of overheating?
The device is equipped with thermal protection: it turns off automatically in case of overheating. Unplug it and let it cool down for at least 30 minutes before using it again.
Where to find spare parts for the Gluefix?
Spare parts (nozzles, heating elements, springs) are available from Steinel after-sales service or authorized dealers. You can also order online on the official Steinel website.
