Before use Check the tool for any damage (Charging cable, housing etc.) before putting it into operation and do not use the tool if it is damaged. Do not use liquid or pasty adhesives! The glue reaches tempera- tures of up to 190 °C! You could burn yourself! After skin contact with hot glue: immediately cool with cold water. Do not try to remove hot-melt glue from the skin. If necessary, seek medical attention. After eye contact with hot-melt glue: Safety precautions immediately cool for approx. 15 min. with running water and consult a doctor straight away. Use the applicator in dry rooms only. Do not use in conjunction with highly inflammable/ combustible materials. Due to risk of fire, do not use on highly combustible surfaces or in combustible environments (e.g. paper, textiles etc.). The area you are glueing must be free of grease, dry and absolutely clean. Glue marks on clothing cannot be removed. Make sure heat-sensitive materials are suitable for glueing with hot-melt adhesive. Drips of glue are best removed when cold. Do not pull the glue stick out of the appli- cator. Hot glue running into the applicator may cause damage. Do not leave the applicator unattended. This tool may be used by children aged 8 or above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experi- ence and knowledge if they are supervised or have been given instructions on how to use the tool safely and under-- 9 - stand the hazards involved. Do not allow children to play with the tool. Children are not allowed to clean or carry out maintenance work on the applicator without supervi- sion. Proper operation is only guaranteed by using genuine STEINEL sticks. USB charging cable Keep the charging cable clean. Soiling may present the risk of an electric shock. Charge the applicator at a temperature ranging from 0 °C to 35 °C. Only charge the unit with the USB charging cable supplied with it (type 15.3841). Do not charge rechargeable bat- teries of other brands. They could catch fire or explode. Rechargeable battery Do not open the applicator or the rechargeable battery. This could cause a short circuit. The rechargeable battery must not be removed. In the event of problems, contact the retailer you purchased the applicator from. The lithium-ion rechargeable battery can be recharged at any time without shortening its lifespan. Interrupting the charge cycle will not damage the rechargeable battery. Proper use This electric tool is only intended for solvent-free glueing of handicraft mater- ials and model components at home. When taking out of use for a long time, put the applicator away with battery charged. This will prolong the life of the lithium-ion rechargeable battery. Vapours may escape if the rechargeable battery is used improperly or damaged. Seek medical attention if you feel unwell and provide fresh air. The vapours may cause respiratory irritation. Suitable for: paper, card, cork, wood, leather, textiles, plastic, ceramics, foam, tiles etc. System components USB charging cable LED display Socket for charging cable ON/OFF button Feed trigger Glue stick GB- 10 - Operating principle and handling ■ Before using for the first time, fully charge the battery (2-3 hours) so as to prolong its life. (see Charging/ Operation) ■ Insert glue stick into rear heating duct. ■ When using the tool for the first time, press the trigger several times to fill the heating chamber with adhesive. It may also be necessary to give the glue stick a short push to help it move in. ■ To prevent the applicator from being switched ON unintentionally, you must press the button for approx. 2 sec. Green LED flashes for 15 sec. ■ Press trigger and apply glue to one side. ■ Firmly press together the materials being glued, correcting alignment if necessary. ■ Final bonding strength is reached after a very short time (approx. 2 minutes)! ■ Spot glueing is recommended on long items with large surfaces. ■ Rigid foam (e.g. polystyrene) can also be glued without a problem. Merely remember to apply the hot glue on the base surface and not on the polystyrene. ■ When glueing textiles or similar materials, it is recommended to apply the hot glue in "wavy" lines. ■ Let the applicator cool down after use. Charging / Operation The rechargeable battery in the Mo- bileGlue 1007/1007-S comes partially charged. Before using the applicator for the first time, fully charge the bat- tery (approx. 2-3 hours) to ensure full capacity. The MobileGlue 1007/1007-S cannot be used while it is charging. Interrupting the charge cycle will not damage the rechargeable battery. The battery can be recharged at any time without shortening its lifespan. "Electronic Cell Protection (ECP)" protects the battery from exhaustive discharge. If the battery runs flat, pro- tective circuitry switches the MobileGlue 1007/1007-S OFF and glue is no longer heated. No. 065539 Technical Specifications Disposal Electrical and electronic equipment, accessories and packaging must be re- cycled in an environmentally compatible manner. Do not dispose of electrical and electronic equipment as domes- tic waste. EU countries only: Under the current European Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equip- ment and its implementation in national law, electrical and electronic equipment no longer suitable for use must be col- lected separately and recycled in an envi- ronmentally compatible manner.
