Multi-function massage

Thank you for choosing Lanaform's Home Mass, a high quality massage appliance.

The Home Mass, with its 4 rotating massage heads, will allow you to reduce tension, muscular pains and fatigue.

Comfortable to use and professionally made, the Home Mass offers you three types of massages and nine possible programmes. It is also operated with a user-friendly control which fits comfortably into the palm of your hand. The Home Mass can be used whether you are in your car, in the office or at home.

1. IMPORTANT SAFETY MEASURES

Please read these instructions before using the appliance. Please also adhere scrupulously to these instructions while using the appliance.

To prevent the risk of burns, electrocution, fire or injury:

• Only use this appliance for the purposes described in this manual.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) whose physical, sensorial or mental capabilities are impaired, or by persons lacking experience or knowledge, unless they are supervised or instructed in the use of the appliance first by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Please do not use accessories which are not recommended by Lanaform ^ or which are not supplied with this appliance.
• If the power lead is damaged, it must be replaced by a special or similar lead available from the supplier or its after-sales department.
• Do not use this appliance if the plug is damaged, if it is not working correctly, if it has been dropped or if it is damaged or if it has fallen into water. If this is the case, have the appliance inspected and repaired by the supplier or its after-sales department.
• Do not transport this appliance by carrying it by its power lead and do not use this lead as a handle.
• Never use drawing pins or other metal attachments with this appliance.
  • Always disconnect the appliance from the mains after use or before cleaning it.
• Do not try to retrieve an appliance which has fallen into water; simply disconnect it from the mains immediately.
• An electrical appliance should never be left plugged in and left unsupervised. Disconnect it from the mains if you are not using it.
• Keep the power lead away from hot surfaces.
• Do not use this product before going to bed. Massage has a stimulating effect which may inhibit sleep.
• Do not use this massage appliance while you are asleep.
• Never let anything fall into and never insert anything into one of the openings.
• Never use this appliance in a room where aerosol products (sprays) are used or in a room where oxygen is administered.
• Do not use this appliance under a cover or under a cushion. Excessive heat may cause a fire, electrocution of the individual or other injuries.
• To disconnect the appliance from the mains, turn all the buttons to the «OFF» position and then unplug it.
  • This appliance is intended exclusively for family use.
• For your safety, we recommend that you do not use this appliance while you are driving any type of vehicle.

• If you are worried about your health, consult a doctor before using this appliance.

• If you feel any pain while using this appliance, stop using it immediately and consult your doctor.

• Do not use this appliance for more than 15 minutes at a time.
• Never use this appliance on a part of the body which is swollen or inflamed or if you have any form of skin rash.
• This product is a non-professional massage appliance designed to relax tired muscles. Do not use this appliance as a substitute for proper medical care.

2. CONNECTING THE HOME MASS TO THE MAINS

To protect the appliance's massage mechanism during its transport, it is provided with a locking screw located at the rear of the seat. Before using Home Mass for the first time, please take this out carefully with a screwdriver (not supplied) and fit the plug provided with the appliance instead of the screw.

Then connect the adapter to a 220/240V AC socket and connect the other end to the female input connector located on the side of the cushion.

Using the attachment belts located on the back of the cushion, attach it to a chair to enjoy a massage while reading, while resting or even while working.

You can also connect the cushion in the car by using the 12V adapter (supplied with the appliance) to be inserted into the cigar lighter. We would remind you that it is forbidden to use the Home Mass while driving.

N.B.: recommendation if the Home Mass is to be used on wooden surfaces: the zip fastener on the cushion might damage the wood on which it is placed. We also recommend a degree of care when using it on upholstered seats.

3. CHARACTERISTICS

- Massage movements

With the Home Mass, you have the option of three types of massage:

- Shiatsu massage: circular massage by pressure along your spinal column.

• Swing massage: massage by compression.
• Rolling massage: massage by rolling along the spinal column.

- Vibrating seat

The Home Mass is equipped with a vibrating seat in which the intensity of the vibration can be adjusted.

- Massage zones

With the Home Mass, you have the option of choosing the part of the back to be massaged (lumbar region, neck region or the whole of the back) or targeting the massage to a specific area.

- Adjusting the massage heads

With the Home Mass, you can set the width of the massage heads in order to enjoy a massage tailored to your back.

- Removable flap

Take out the removable flap from the back of your cushion for a more intense back massage.

- Adapter

The massage cushion works with a 220-240V AC adapter designed especially for the appliance and supplied with it.

- Attachment belts system

The massage cushion is provided with a system of attachment belts which allow you to attach it to almost any chair. Simply slide the belts around the seat and adjust them to fix the cushion in place. Your massage cushion will not slip or move.

5. USING THE HOME MASS

A. Power

Home Mass control unit. Press once on «Power» to start the appliance. To turn the appliance off, press «Power» again.

B. Swing massage

This type of massage carries out massage movements by compression. First of all, start the «Power» function. You can then select the massage zone by pressing one of the following commands:

• Full: the cushion will massage the whole of your back.
• Upper: the cushion will massage the top of your back.
• Lower: the cushion will massage your lumbar region.

C. Rolling massage

This massage consists of a massage by rolling along the spinal column. First start the «Power» function and then select the zone of the back which you want by pressing one of the commands (Full, Upper or Lower).

D. Adjusting the massage heads

You can adjust the width of the different massage heads in order to give yourself a massage tailored to your body. To do this, keep pressing the «Width» key until the desired position is reached when a massage programme is activated.

E. Seat vibration

The Home Mass can also massage your buttocks.

There are three possible intensities:

• Low (L): low vibration intensity
• Medium (M): medium vibration intensity
• High (H): high vibration intensity

To select one of these, press successively on the «Seat» key. The intensity will go from «Low (L)» to «Medium (M)» to «High (H)» and then finally to the «no vibration» mode.

F. Shiatsu massage

This type of massage consists of a circular massage by pressing along your spinal column.

Select the zone of the back that you want by pressing on one of the following commands (Full, Upper or Lower).

G. Targeting the massage to a specific area on the back

With the Home Mass, you can target a specific area on your back to be massaged. To do this, first of all select one of the three massage programmes (Rolling, Shiatsu or Swing). Then hold the massage positioning key down or up towards the «Spot» until the desired massage spot is reached.

H. Demo mode:

Press the Demo key. The cushion will run the following massages:

At the end of this programme cycle, the Home Mass will turn itself off automatically.

NOTES:

To change the massage programme, you have a choice between:

Pressing a second time on the current massage programme (the LED display will go out, indicating that no programme is running) and then on the new programme (the LED display for the new programme selected will light up).

Or selecting the new programme directly.

Once your session has ended, the massage mechanism is replaced in its start position, i.e. at the bottom of the cushion. If the appliance is disconnected before the end of this operation, the mechanism will return to this position once reconnected.

For your safety, the appliance is provided with an automatic shutdown system after 15 minutes.

6. MAINTENANCE

Storage

• Place the massage cushion in its box or in a dry place.
• Avoid it coming into contact with sharp edges and other pointed objects which might cut or pierce the fabric surface.
• In order to avoid any breakage of the power lead, do not wind it around the cushion.
• Do not hang the cushion up by the manual control lead.

Cleaning

• Disconnect the cushion from the power socket and wait for a few minutes before cleaning it.
• Clean it with a soft, slightly damp sponge.
• Never let water or any other liquid come into contact with the cushion.
• Do not immerse it in liquid to clean it.

- Never use abrasive detergents, brushes or a thinning agent to clean it.

No part of the cushion can be maintained by the user. For any repairs owing to a malfunction, take the appliance to your reseller who will ensure it is inspected by our after-sales department.

7. ADVICE ON WASTE DISPOSAL

The packaging consists entirely of materials which do not pose any threat to the environment and which can be taken to your district sorting centre to be used as recycled materials. Cardboard can be placed in a paper collection skip. Packaging film wrapping should be taken to your district sorting and recycling centre.

If you are no longer using the appliance, dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way and in accordance with the legal guidelines. Take out the battery first and place it in a collection bin so that it can be recycled.

9. LIMITED GUARANTEE

LANAFORM® guarantees that the product is free from any material or manufacturing defect for a period of two years as from the date of purchase, except as stipulated herebelow.

The guarantee on this LANAFORM ^® product does not cover damage caused by inappropriate or misuse, accident, attachment of any unauthorized accessory, any modification made to the product or any circumstance of any kind beyond the control of LANAFORM ^® .

LANAFORM ^® cannot be held liable for indirect, consequential or special damage of any kind.

All implicit guarantees of the aptitude of the product are limited to two years as from the initial date of purchase.

On reception, LANAFORM ^® will repair or replace your appliance as appropriate and will return it to you. This guarantee must be carried out by LANAFORM ^® Service Centre. Any maintenance of this product entrusted to anyone other than the LANAFORM ^® Service Center voids this guarantee.
