The LCD screen of your Renkforce RF-CR-200 radio usually does not turn on due to a completely drained battery. This radio has a built-in lithium-ion battery of 2000 mAh (3.7 V) that does not need to be replaced but must be regularly recharged. If the device has not been used for a long time or has not been properly recharged, the battery may be completely empty.

Recharge the battery: You have three methods to recharge your radio. The fastest is to use an external charger of 5V/2.4A (standard USB) by plugging it into the DC5V input port located at the back of the radio. If you do not have a charger, you can turn the crank at the back of the device for 5 to 10 minutes clockwise or counterclockwise. The third option is to expose the built-in solar panel (on top of the radio) to direct sunlight for a while. During charging, the charge indicator blinks on the LCD screen and the battery symbol appears.

Turn on the LCD screen: Once the battery is charged, you need to insert or check the lithium-ion battery in the compartment located at the back of the radio, ensuring the correct polarity (the + and - symbols must match the contacts). Close the compartment securely. Then press the Power/Sleep button (the button marked '5' on the diagrams) and hold it until 'On' appears on the LCD screen. You should then see the information: the current FM/AM/KW frequency, battery status, time, and station selector address.

If the screen remains black after a full charge: Wait a few seconds after inserting the battery and pressing the Power button, as the screen sometimes takes a moment to turn on. Check that the battery is correctly inserted in the compartment and that the metal contacts are in place, free of dirt or oxidation. If the problem persists after a full recharge via USB charger (at least 30 minutes), there may be an internal electronic issue, a faulty charging connector, or a malfunction of the LCD screen itself.
