How do I froth milk?

Place the tank on the base, install the frothing attachment, pour milk up to the MAX level (200 ml for foaming), close the lid, and press the button twice. The indicator light will show the process. The appliance shuts off automatically.

Can I froth cold milk?

Yes, for cold frothing, follow the same steps but the indicator light will be a different symbol (□). The appliance will froth without heating.

What is the maximum capacity?

For foaming: 200 ml. For heating only or cold mixing: 230 ml. Do not exceed the MAX level marked inside the tank.

How do I clean the milk frother?

Unplug and cool down. Wash the lid and attachments in warm soapy water or dishwasher (top rack, max 50°C). Wipe the base with a damp cloth. Never immerse the base in water.

Can I wash the base in the dishwasher?

No, never immerse the base in water or rinse it under running water. Clean with a damp cloth only.

What type of milk should I use for best froth?

Use milk with fat content over 3.0% for best results. Whole milk works well.

How do I make hot chocolate?

Pour milk up to the MAX level, install the mixing attachment, add powdered or finely crushed solid chocolate, close lid, press button once then three times. The appliance will heat and mix.

What do the indicator lights mean?

The appliance has different lights for each function: ⚠ for warm frothing/heating, □ for cold frothing, and a light for heating only. Refer to the manual for exact symbols.

INTENDED USE

The SI1050 foaming unit is intended for heating up and foaming of milk, as well as for preparation of beverages on the basis of milk. The appliance heats up milk to about 65 +/- 5°C.

SETTING UP THE APPLIANCE

Before using the appliance, make sure that the appliance, the plug and the power cable are in good technical order and whether all parts of the package were removed.

Before the first use, all parts of the appliance that are in contact with food must be thoroughly washed (see: Cleaning and maintenance).

For the best results, use milk with fat content over 3.0%.

Warm milk frothing

• Place the tank (5) in the base (6).
  • Install the required tip inside the tank (5)
• Pour milk into the tank in the volume not exceeding the maximum level -
• Place the lid (1) with the sealing gasket
• Press the button (8) twice. The control light ⚠ will go on to start the frothing process.
• The appliance will switch off automatically, and the control light will go off. The appliance may be turned off at any time with the button (8).
• Then remove the lid (1).
• While holding the appliance by the handle (3), remove the tank (5) from the base and pour out the milk to a cup. If needed, use a wooden spoon so as not to damage the coat of the tank.

Cold milk frothing

• Place the tank (5) in the base (8).
  • Install the required tip inside the tank (5).
• Pour milk into the tank in the volume not exceeding the maximum level -
• Place the lid (1) with the sealing gasket.
• Press the button (8) twice. The control light □ will go on to start the frothing process.
• The appliance will switch off automatically, and the control light will go off. The appliance may be turned off at any time with the button (8).
• Then remove the lid (1).
• While holding the appliance by the handle (3), remove the tank (5) from the base and pour out the milk to a cup. If needed, use a wooden spoon so as not to damage the coat of the tank.

Heating up milk

• Place the tank (5) in the base (6).

NOTE. Do not pour milk above the maximum level for the given function.

Hot-chocolate preparation

• Place the tank (5) in the base (8).
  • Install the required tip inside the tank (5).
• Pour milk into the tank in the volume not exceeding the maximum level -
• Press the button (8) once. Then add the powdered chocolate or the finely crushed solid chocolate.
• Place the lid (1) with the sealing gasket.
• Press the button (8) three times. The control light ⚠ will go on and the heating process will start.
• The appliance will switch off automatically, and the control light will go off. The appliance may be turned off at any time with the button (8).
• Then remove the lid (1).
• While holding the appliance by the handle (3), remove the tank (5) from the base and pour out the milk to a cup.

NOTE. The solid chocolate must be finely crushed (preferably grated or blended). Too-large pieces can block the attachment (2).

After use, wait for about 2 minutes for the thermostat to reset. This time may be shortened when cold water is poured into the tank. Dry clean the appliance before its use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Clean the appliance immediately after use and cooling down.
• Before cleaning, turn off the appliance with the button (8), disconnect from the power supply and wait to cool down.
• Never immerse the base (6) in water, and do not rinse under running water.
• The external surfaces may be cleaned with a damp cloth.
• Wash the elements (1), (2) in warm water with addition of washdish, use a soft sponge and rinse under running water.
• Do not use abrasive agents, cleaning powders, acetone, alcohol, etc.
• The elements (1), (4) may be washed in a dishwasher, placed on the upper shelf. Make sure that they are placed away from the heating element. The maximum temperature is 50°C.
