How to use the sterilizer for the first time?

Before first use, clean the interior of the tank, fill it with about 6 liters of water, set the temperature to maximum and the timer to 60 minutes, then press START/STOP. Once the time is up, let it cool and empty the appliance. It is then ready to use.

How much water should I put in the sterilizer?

The water level must not exceed 4 cm from the top edge. For sterilization, fill up to 75% of the jar height. The maximum capacity of the tank is 27 liters.

How many jars can I sterilize at once?

You can sterilize up to 22 jars of 0.72 liters or 34 jars of 0.37 liters. Place the closed jars on the grid at the bottom of the sterilizer.

How do I set the temperature and sterilization time?

Turn the START/STOP control to select the desired temperature (see sterilization table). Then press TIMER to set the time in minutes. Confirm by pressing START/STOP. The screen shows the clock icon and the countdown begins.

What does the container icon on the display mean?

If the container icon appears on the screen, it indicates that the liquid has evaporated. Immediately fill with liquid to avoid any risk of burns and damage to the appliance.

How to use the Keep Warm function?

Select the desired temperature, then press the TIMER button until the infinity icon appears. Press START/STOP. The appliance maintains the temperature until you press START/STOP again to stop.

How to clean the sterilizer after use?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool. Clean the exterior with a slightly damp sponge. Never immerse the appliance in water. For the drain tap, unscrew the lever, wash with soap, rinse and reassemble. Periodic descaling with a commercial product is recommended.

What are the important safety precautions?

Never leave the appliance unattended, do not cover the openings, keep at least 15 cm away from combustible materials, do not touch with wet hands, unplug before cleaning, and do not immerse the cord or appliance in water.

What to do in case of odor during first use?

The odor is normal and dissipates quickly. It comes from the heating of new components. Ventilate the room if necessary.

How to benefit from the warranty?

The warranty is 24 months from the date of purchase. For any claim, contact your dealer or an authorized service center (list on www.my-concept.com). Keep the purchase receipt and follow the instructions in the manual.

IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

• Do not use the appliance in any other way than as described in this manual.

General information

This appliance is intended for: canning, cooking, preparing hot drinks, maintaining a hot liquid, blanching vegetables, sterilizing must, etc.

Dense liquids must be heated slowly and stirred continuously to prevent them from burning. Switching on the pot without water or other liquid can damage the enamel surface. Allow the appliance to cool down before using it again. Be careful when adding water to the appliance that is in operation, there is a risk of scalding from hot steam.

When used for the first time, an odour may occur, but it will disappear after a short time.

Capacity

The appliance has a capacity of 27 litres. The liquid level must not be higher than 4 cm below the upper edge of the appliance. Maximum 22 jars with a volume of 0.72 litres or 34 jars with a volume of 0.37 litres.

Important information

Boil the pot before using it for the first time.

Fill the appliance with about 6 litres of water, set the temperature to maximum, set the timer to 60 minutes and switch on the appliance by pressing the START/STOP button. After the set time has elapsed, the appliance switches off automatically. After cooling and pouring out the water, the appliance is ready for use. When cold, the body of the pot may have an elliptical shape that flattens when heated.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

1. Insert the canning rack into the appliance.

2. Place the closed jars on the rack.

3. Fill the appliance with water up to 75% of the height of the jars. Make sure that the jars are well sealed so that no water enters them.

4. Place the lid on the pot.

5. Canning - turn the knob to select the desired temperature (START/STOP) and time (TIMER). To start the program, press START/STOP (Fig. 1). The pot starts to heat up. When the appliance reaches the selected temperature, the clock icon will appear on the display and the timer will start counting down (Fig. 2). An acoustic signal announces the end of the program.

6. Juice production - turn the START/STOP knob all the way to the right to select the maximum temperature, press the TIMER button, the timer will turn off (Fig. 3). Press the START/STOP button, the pot will heat up to the highest temperature and will generate the maximum amount of steam to reduce the juice. Once the juice is reduced to the desired density, press the START/STOP button to turn off the program.

7. KEEP WARM (maintaining the temperature) - select the desired temperature, press the TIMER button, the infinity icon will appear on the display, the timer is off (Fig. 4). Press the START/STOP button, the pot will heat up to the desired temperature and will maintain it until you press START/STOP to turn it off.

WARNING! If the container icon appears on the display, the liquid has completely evaporated. Carefully add the liquid immediately, there is a risk of scalding!

Warning: The stated time and temperatures are only indicative, they depend on the amount of water and ripeness of the fruits, etc.

NOTICE: The jars are hot after the canning cycle is completed. Be careful to avoid burning yourself. Be careful when removing the jars from the pot and use protective gloves (pot holders).

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING!

• Before each cleaning of the appliance, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet!
  • Make sure the appliance has cooled before handling it!
  • To clean the surface of the appliance, use only a damp cloth, no detergents or hard objects, as they can damage the
  surface of the appliance!
• Never clean the appliance under running water, do not rinse it or immerse it in water!

We recommend cleaning the drain tap

When cleaning the drain tap, we recommend unscrewing the drain lever.

1. Remove the lever by turning it counter-clockwise.
2. Wash the drain lever with a mild soap solution.
3. Rinse it in clean water.
4. Allow the mild soap solution to flow through the drain tap. Use detergent on stubborn dirt inside the tap.
5. Then rinse it under clean water.
6. Put the drain lever back on the drain tap.

Descaling

During normal use, deposition of impurities from the water occurs. Use commercially available descaling agents to clean them (follow the manufacturer's instructions). After descaling, rinse the appliance with clean water.

RECOMMENDATION

• Wrap the cable around the spool and insert the plug into the holder in the centre of the appliance base.
• Store the jars with fruits in a cool, dry place.

SERVICE CENTRE

Extensive maintenance or repair, which requires access to internal parts of the product, has to be performed by a qualified specialist or the service centre.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS

• Packaging materials and old appliances should be recycled.
  • Packaging materials may be disposed of as sorted waste.
• Dispose the plastic bags made of polyethylene (PE) of as sorted waste.

Recycling of the appliance at the end of its lifespan:

This appliance is labelled in accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EU concerning used electrical and electronic appliances (waste electrical and electronic equipment - WEEE). The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it should be taken to the appropriate collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. Informatii generale

The manufacturer (or Importer) is responsible for ensuring the product complies with the requirements of applicable legal regulations as well as those of the relevant technical standards. Moreover, they are responsible for ensuring the product has the properties the manufacturer described in documents related to the goods or those reasonably expected by the customer with regard to the nature of the goods or based on advertising produced by the manufacturer, and further they are responsible for ensuring the product is fit for the purpose proposed by the manufacturer or that a product of the same type is normally used for.

The quality warranty term is 24 months from product takeover by the customer.

The warranty does not apply to wear and tear caused by regular use. The customer shall not be entitled to any warranty claims if, prior to taking the product over, they knew the product contained a defect or if the defect is attributable to the customer.

The warranty specifically does not apply:

• if the product installation, operation and service conditions stipulated in the product operating manual have not been adhered to,
  • to malfunctions caused due to mechanical, heat or chemical damage, short circuit, over voltage or incorrect installation.
  • to malfunctions caused by an inexpert third-party intervention,
  • to malfunctions caused by natural disaster,
  • to malfunctions caused by insufficient or inappropriate maintenance in violation of the operating manual, including malfunctions caused by water and other sediments,
  • to changes in colour of the heating surface or to scratching of the surface caused as a result of using the products in an unusual manner,
  • to appearance and functional changes caused by exposure to sunlight, thermal radiation of water and other sediments,
• if the service life of certain product parts expires, e.g. for accumulators, bulbs, etc.

The warranty does not apply to any products and services provided along with the product (gifts, promotional articles, etc.).

Filing a complaint

A complaint against a product defect must be filed as soon as identified, yet no later than before the end of the warranty term.

The customer must file a product complaint with the dealer from which they have purchased the product, or with any authorised service centre, a list of which is included in the product package, or available at www.my-concept.com.

While filing a product complaint, the product must be duly cleaned and securely packed so as to prevent any damage during its transport to an authorised service centre, where relevant, unless the product is delivered in person.

The customer must submit proof of having concluded a purchase contract for the product by producing the receipt.

While filing their complaint, the customer must indicate the noted defect and identify the preferred complaint application method.

Complaints processing

As long as the noted defect may be removed, the user has the right to have the defect duly removed free of charge on a timely basis.

Where such a procedure is not reasonable with regard to the nature of the defect, the user may require to be supplied a new defect-free product (replacement), or, where the defect applies to a part of the product only, replacement of the part concerned. However, if replacement of the product or any part thereof is not proportionate with regard to the nature of the defect, especially if the defect can be removed without undue delay, the customer has the right to have the defect removed free of charge.

If the noted defect is not removable, or if the customer becomes entitled to replacement of the product or a part thereof, yet the replacement is not possible, for example due to the product having been sold out, the customer has the right to return the product (withdrawal from the contract).

The customer shall have the right to a new product (replacement) or to replacement of a part of the product even if the defect can be removed, provided they cannot properly use the product due to repeated occurrence of the defect or due to a high number of such defects. In such a case, the customer also has the right to return the product (by withdrawing from the contract).

If the product is not returned (the customer does not withdraw from the contract), or if the customer does not apply the right to a new defect-free product (replacement), to replacement of a part thereof or to repair of the product, they may request a reasonable discount. The customer also has a right to a reasonable discount if a new defect-free product cannot be supplied to them, or if a product part cannot be replaced or the product repaired unless the situation is remedied within a reasonable time limit, or if remedying the situation would create major discomfort on the part of the customer.

The seller, authorised service centre or a staff member authorised by them must decide about each complaint immediately or within three business days in complicated cases. This term does not include a reasonable period of time, depending on the type of product concerned,

required for the defect to be assessed by an expert. A complaint, including defect removal, must be dealt with without any undue delay, yet no later than within 30 calendar days of the complaint filing date, unless the seller and the customer agree on a later deadline.

On returning the product (withdrawing from the contract) the customer must return any accessories and documents supplied along with the product.

The customer does not have the right to keep the defective parts and components of the product replaced as part of a repair of the product.

This shall be without prejudice to any other rights the customer may have in relation to the purchase of the product.

Remark: Complaints against products damaged in transport are governed by the carrier's complaints procedure.
