INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFE USE

This appliance should only be used for domestic cleaning, as described in this user guide. Please ensure that this guide is fully understood before operating the appliance.

Do not leave the appliance plugged in. Always switch off and remove the plug from the socket after use, or before cleaning the appliance or any maintenance task.

Children shall not play with the appliance.

Keep the appliance out of reach of children when it is energized or cooling down.

ASSEMBLING YOUR CLEANER

Remove all components from the packaging.

Attach the hose to the main body of the cleaner. [1]

  1. Attach the extension tube to the hose handle. Connect the other extension tubes together. [2]

  2. Attach the floor head to the connector until it clicks. Rotate the connector ensuring it is locked in place. [3]

  3. Attach the floor head connector to the extension tubes. [4]

  4. Ensure the handle safety latch is locked. [5]

NOTE: To remove the extension tubes from the handle or the floor head from the tubes, press the release latch and pull apart.

USING YOUR CLEANER

  1. Remove the clean water tank cap by pushing down and turning anti clockwise. [6]

  2. Fill the measuring jug no more than the Max. fill line.

  3. Insert the funnel into the water tank and fill the unit with water. [7]

  4. Replace the cap by pushing down and turning clockwise.

STEAM CLEANING HARD FLOORS

IMPORTANT: Always switch off the product and press the steam release trigger to release any remaining steam pressure, and then unplug the cleaner before adding water or changing a textile pad or accessory tool.

  1. Ensure the floor head is connected to the extension tube.
  2. Place the floor head onto the floor cloth. Lift the levers on either side of the floor head to secure each end of the floor cloth in place. [12]
  3. Plug the steam cleaner into the mains power and switch on. The red ON light will illuminate. [8]
  4. After a few minutes the green steam ready light will illuminate indicating the cleaner is ready for use. [8]
  5. Release the steam handle safety latch. [9]
  6. To produce steam press the steam trigger button. [10]
  7. If necessary adjust the variable steam dial to adjust pressure. [11]
  8. Move the cleaner slowly backwards and forwards paying particular attention to high traffic areas.
  9. Remove the floor cloth from floor head and use brush for stubborn dirt.

REFRESHING CARPETS

  1. Repeat steam cleaning hard floors operated steps 2-8 as detailed above.

ACCESSORIES

All accessories can fit onto the concentration nozzle which can be attached to the hose handle or the end of the tube.

  1. Ensure the handle safety latch is locked. [5]
  2. To attach the concentration nozzle push onto the handle/extension tube until it clicks in place. [13]

  3. Push the desired small tool onto the concentration tool aligning the arrows. [14]

  4. Twist clockwise to secure in place. [14]
  5. Plug the steam cleaner into the mains power. The red ON light will illuminate. [8]
  6. After a few minutes the green Steam Ready light will illuminate indicating the cleaner is ready for use. [8]
  7. Release the steam handle safety latch. [9]
  8. To produce steam press the Steam Trigger Button. [10]
  9. If necessary adjust the variable steam dial to adjust pressure. [11]

NOTE: The concentration tool must be attached before fitting any other small tools.

IMPORTANT: Always unplug the cleaner when adding water, changing a textile pad or accessory tool.

CLEANER MAINTENANCE

IMPORTANT: Always ensure the cleaner has fully cooled down before performing any maintenance tasks.

Empty the water tank

  1. Switch off the cleaner using the on/off switch, [8] but ensure the plug is still connected to the mains. Hold the steam trigger down and release any remaining steam from the boiler, [10]
  2. After all the steam has been released unplug cleaners from mains and allow the water in the boiler to cool down.
    NOTE: Make sure the cleaner is switched off but plug in when doing step 1.
  3. Put the steam handle safety latch on. [5]
  4. Once the boiler has cooled down you can then remove the clean water tank cap by pressing down and rotating the cap in an anticlockwise direction. PLEASE ENSURE NO STEAM IS EMITTED WITH THIS ACTION !!! IF SO STOP AS THE BOILER IS NOT FULLY COOLED. [6]
  5. Remove the cap, lift the cleaner and empty any remaining water. [22]

Removing and cleaning the textile pad

  1. Unplug the cleaner from the mains power and ensure the unit has cooled.
  2. Remove the cleaning cloths from floor head or window tool.
  3. Wash the cleaning cloths by hand or machine with a mild detergent at Max. temperature 30° C.

IMPORTANT: Do not use bleach or fabric softener when washing the textile pad.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Should you have a problem with the product, complete this simple user checklist before calling your local HOOVER service.

The steam cleaner will not switch on.

  • Check the unit is plugged in.
  • Check the power cord.

The product is not producing steam.

  • Check the unit is switched on.
    • There may be no water in the water tank.
  • The safety latch may be locked. If so unlock the safety latch.
  • The water is not at the correct temperature. The green light will illuminate when ready.

The cleaner is taking a long time to heat up.

  • If you live in a hard water area the water tank may have become blocked. The unit will have to be descaled.
  • To complete this task fill tank with clean water, close cap, shake cleaner to detach any limescale or dirt from the Tank, empty residue. Repeat this operation until clean.

The cleaning cloth won't pick up dirt.

- The cleaning pad may already be saturated with dirt and needs to be washed.
