Frequently Asked Questions - SPB 5.2 A1 SILVERCREST

How to charge the SPB 5.2 A1 power bank?
Connect the supplied USB cable to the power bank (micro-USB port) and to a powered-on computer or USB power adapter (1 A). The LEDs indicate progress. Do not use the power bank to charge a device while it is being charged itself.
How to check the remaining charge level?
Briefly press the Charge status / START button. The 4 LEDs light up for about 3 seconds to indicate the approximate level: 4 LEDs = 100%, 3 = 75%, 2 = 50%, 1 = 25%, none = 0%.
How long does it take to fully charge the power bank?
With a 1 A USB power adapter: about 7 hours. On a computer USB port (500 mA): about 15 hours.
Can I charge my phone and recharge the power bank at the same time?
No, the power bank must not be charged and used simultaneously to charge an external device.
What to do if the power bank does not charge?
Check the connections. Make sure the computer is on (some cut USB power in standby). If all 4 LEDs flash simultaneously, an overcharge or short circuit is detected: unplug the cable, wait for the flashing to stop, then press the button to reset.
What do the flashing LED indicators mean?
During charging: the LEDs flash in sequence to indicate progress (0-25%: all flash; 25-50%: 1 steady, 3 flash; etc.). In case of fault: all LEDs flash simultaneously meaning protection against overcharge or short circuit.
Can I use a different cable than the one supplied?
Yes, you can use any standard USB cable with a micro-USB connector to charge the power bank, and any suitable USB cable to charge your external devices.
How to clean the power bank?
Use a clean, dry cloth. Never use aggressive or abrasive liquids. Do not open the housing.
What safety precautions must I follow?
Do not expose to heat sources, water, magnetic fields or impact. Do not cover during use. Do not incinerate. Keep out of reach of children. Do not open the housing.
What to do in case of prolonged non-use?
Recharge the battery at regular intervals to maintain its performance. Store the power bank in a dry and cool place.

Troubleshooting

My Power Bank won't charge

  • The connection is incorrect; check the connection.
  • Some computers turn off the voltage supply of the USB ports when turned off. If the battery of the Power Bank (A) won't charge, make sure your computer is turned on.

All LEDs of the LED display (2) flash simultaneously

The Power Bank recognises an overload/short circuit on the charging output and turns off the charging output. The purpose of this is to protect the Power Bank.

Perform a RESET of the Power Bank (A). To do this, proceed as follows:

  • Remove a connected USB charging cable and wait until the LEDs have stopped flashing.
  • Now press the Charge level/START button (3) to restart the Power Bank (A).

Check the device to be charged and the USB charging cable for any defects, and replace them if necessary.

- Reconnect the USB charging cable and continue the charging process.

A connected device won't charge

  • The battery of the Power Bank (A) is empty; charge the battery.
  • There is no connection to the device; check the connection.
  • Briefly press the Charge level/START button (3) to start the charging process.
  • The LEDs of the Power Bank (A) are not lit; connect the Power Bank (A) to a computer or an external power supply for approximately two seconds in order to reset the internal overload protection.

The Power Bank (A) does not switch on, or it switches on then immediately off.

- The required charging current of the connected device is too low.
