SAFETY MEASURES

Before connecting and using the unit, read this instruction manual carefully. Follow all the warnings and operating recommendations for operation of the unit listed in this manual. Keep this manual and use it for future reference.

- Before using the unit, examine the power cord and the power cord connector close-

ly and make sure that they are not damaged. Do not use the unit if the power cord or power cord connector are damaged.
- Before switching the unit on make sure that your home mains voltage corresponds to unit operating voltage.
- Power cord is equipped with “euro plug”; plug it into the mains socket with reliable grounding contact.
- Do not use adapters for plugging the unit in.
- Make sure that one end of the power cord is properly inserted into the corresponding connector of the multicooker and the other end - into the mains socket.
- Use only the supplied power cord, do not use it with other units.
- Use only the removable parts supplied with the unit.
- Place the unit on a flat heat-resistant surface away from exposure to water, moisture and open flame.
- Place the unit with free access to the mains socket.
- Use the unit in places with proper ventilation.
- Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight.
- Do not place the unit close to walls and furniture.
- Avoid contact of the power cord with hot and sharp surfaces. Avoid damaging the isolation of the power cord.
- Do not touch the power cord or power plug with wet hands.
- Do not immerse the unit, the power cord and power plug into water or other liquids.
- If the unit was dropped into water, unplug it immediately. Do not put your hands into water! Apply to the authorized service center for the further use of the unit.
- Do not insert foreign objects, including metal parts, such as pins or needles, into the openings or any other parts of the unit.
- Do not leave the operating unit unattended. Always unplug the unit when you are not using it.
- In order to avoid burns do not bend over the steam release opening. Be very careful when opening the multicooker lid dur-

Danger of burns by hot steam!

  • When the unit is operating in "Roasting" program, do not bend over the unit in order to avoid burns by hot oil.
  • Never use the unit without installed bowl and also without liquids and/or products in the bowl.
  • Follow all the recipe recommendations for amount of dry products and volume of liquids.
  • Do not remove the bowl during operation.
  • Do not cover the unit.
  • Do not carry the unit during operation. Use the carrying handle, unplug the unit and let it cool down preliminary.
  • The body and inner parts of the unit heat up during the operation. Do not touch them with bare hands, use thermal protective potholders.
  • Clean the unit regularly.
  • Do not allow children to use the unit as a toy.
  • This unit is not intended for usage by children or disabled persons unless they are given all the necessary and understandable instructions by a person who is responsible for their safety on safety measures and information about danger that can be caused by improper usage of the unit.
    • Children and disabled people can use the unit under adult supervision only.
    • Do not use the unit outdoors.
  • Never pull the power cord, when disconnecting the unit from the mains, take the power plug and pull it carefully out of the mains socket.
  • Do not use the unit if the power cord or the power plug is damaged, the unit works improperly or after it was dropped. Do not try to repair the unit by yourself. Contact an authorized service center for all repair issues.
  • For children safety reasons do not leave polyethylene bags, used as a packaging, unattended.

Attention! Do not allow children to play with polyethylene bags or packaging film. Danger of suffocation!

  • Use the unit and its parts for the intended purposes only. Do not use the bowl with other heating units or surfaces.
  • Do not replace the bowl with other container.
    • Make sure that the heating surface and the bottom of the bowl are clean and dry.
  • Do not use the bowl for mixing of products. Never chop the products in the bowl in order to avoid damage of the non-stick coating.
  • Do not leave the soup ladle (15), spatula (17) and other objects in the bowl.
  • Stir the products in the bowl only with the plastic soup ladle (15) or spatula (17) or use kitchen tools intended for working with non-stick coating.
  • Do not tap on the inner surface of the bowl.
  • After cooking dishes with spices and seasonings clean the bowl immediately (see chapter "Cleaning and care").

Before the first use

  1. Unpack the unit, remove any stickers and package materials that can prevent unit operation.
  2. Place the unit on a flat, dry, heat-resistant surface away from exposure to water, moisture and open flame. Distance to the nearest surfaces should be at least 20 cm.

Attention! Do not use the unit near bath tubs, kitchen sinks or other containers filled with water.

Note: After unit transportation or storage at low temperature it is necessary to keep it for at least two hours at room temperature before switching on.

  1. Open the multicooker lid (5) by pressing the button (11).

  2. Remove the steam valve (6) and then the protection screen (7) by pressing the clamps (8).

  3. Wash all the removable parts (steam valve (6), protection screen (7), bowl (4), basket

for steam cooking (19), soup ladle (15), spatula (17) and measuring cup (16)) with a soft sponge with some neutral detergent, then rinse under running water and dry.

  1. Wipe the unit body with a damp cloth. Let the unit dry.
  2. Install the protection screen (7) and the steam valve (6) back to their places.

Using of the multicooker

  1. Put the necessary ingredients into the bowl.

Note: Make sure that the ingredients and liquids level doesn't exceed the maximal mark. The maximal mark for porridges (except rice) is 3 l, the maximal mark for other products and liquids is "CUP".
2. Install the bowl (4) into the process chamber of the unit. Make sure that the bowl (4) is placed evenly and is in secure contact with heating element (13) surface.

Note:

Do not use the bowl (4) for washing cereals and cutting products, this can damage the non-stick coating.

Wipe the outer surface and the bottom of the bowl (4) dry before use. Make sure that there are no foreign objects, dirt and moisture in the process chamber and at the bottom of the bowl (4).

In the middle of the heating element (13) there is a temperature sensor (14). Make sure that the movement of the sensor (14) is not limited.

  1. Install the basket (19) with food into the bowl (4).
  2. Close the multicooker lid (5) until click.
  3. Insert the power cord into the connector (10), insert the plug of the power cord (18) into the mains socket.
  4. To choose the auto cooking program, press the „Menu“ button (27) repeatedly till the indicator arrow appears against the necessary program on the display (2), the on/operation indicator (30) will start blinking.
  5. Cooking time in the suggested programs is set by default, but it can vary within the

set range. Use „Hours“ (25) and „Minutes“ (26) buttons to change the cooking time (see Table 2).

  1. Press the "Start" button (29) to start cooking.

Note:

If an emergency power cutoff happens during the cooking, the unit keeps the cooking program settings for 40 minutes. If the power supply is restored within 40 minutes after the cutoff, the unit will continue operation automatically. If the emergency power cutoff lasts more than 40 minutes, reprogram the unit.
9. Watch the food readiness during cooking; if necessary, stir the products with the plastic soup ladle (15) or spatula (17), intended for using with non-stick coating.

Attention! In order to avoid burns by hot steam and oil be very careful when opening the multicooker lid (5), don't bend over the unit and don't place your hands above the bowl (4).

Don't use metal objects which can scratch the bowl (4) or make cracks.

Do not open the multicooker lid (5) during baking.

  1. After cooking is finished you will hear 5 sound signals, the unit will be switched to the keep warm mode, the keep warm function indicator (21) will light up.

Note: Despite the unit keeps the ready dish warm for 24 hours, it is not recommended to leave the food in this mode for too long, because this may lead to changing of taste and color of the products.

Do not use the keep warm mode for heating up the products.

After steam cooking do not remove the food with your hands, use kitchen tools.

  1. To switch the selected mode off press the «Stop/Keep warm» button (20).

Control panel buttons (3)

Every pressing of the active buttons of the control panel (3) is accompanied by a sound signal.

«Stop/Keep warm» button (20)

After finishing of cooking program the unit is switched to the keep warm mode automatically. You can activate the keep warm function by yourself. To do this, press the "Stop/Keep warm" button (20) once, the indicator (21) will light up, and operation duration in this mode will be shown on the display starting from 0:00. The dish can be kept warm up to 24 hours. To stop the keep warm mode press the "Stop/Keep warm" button (20) again, the indicator (21) will go out.

Note: This function is not intended for heating up products.

«Rice» Button (22)

By pressing this button you can select the necessary rice cooking mode: "Glutinous rice", "Fluffy rice" and "Brown rice" You can set cooking time manually with the "Minutes" button (26).

Rice cooking

  1. Measure the required amount of rice with a measuring cup. Rinse the rice with running water. Rinse the rice till the water is clear.
  2. Put the rinsed rice into the bowl. Pour the necessary amount of cold water into the bowl till the required mark on the CUP scale which complies with the number of measuring cups. You can add some amount of water to your taste. Add salt and spices to your taste. Close the lid.
  3. Press the „Menu“ button (27) to select „Rice“ mode.
  4. Select the necessary rice cooking mode ("Glutinous rice", "Fluffy rice" or "Brown rice") by pressing the "Rice" button (22), the indicator (30) will start blinking.
  5. You can set the rice cooking time in each mode by pressing „Minutes“ button (26). (see Table 1).

  1. To start cooking, press the "Start" button (29), the indicator (30) will be alight constantly.
  2. After cooking is finished you will hear 5 sound signals, the unit will be switched to keep warm mode, the indicator (21) will light up.
  3. To switch the multicooker off press the «Stop/Keep warm» button (20).

Note: After cooking is finished, do not open the lid, leave the rice for 10-15 minutes to soak.

With this function you can preset the time by which the cooking process is to be finished. This function is available in the following modes: "Rice", "Steam cooking", "Yogurt", "Cereal", "Stew", "Porridge", "Soup". Time range is from 1 to 24 hours.

  1. Select one of the modes above with the "Menu" button (27), then press the "Delayed start" button (23), the time 1:00 will be shown on the display. The on/operation indicator (30) will be blinking.
  2. Press the "Hours" (25) and "Minutes" (26) buttons to set the cooking end time.
  3. Press the "Start" button (29) to switch the delayed start function on, the delayed start function indicator (24) will be alight constantly and the on/operation indicator (30) will start blinking, the remaining cooking time will be shown on the display.

Example: If the time of selected program is 30 minutes, and the dish must be cooked in 3:30, the unit will stay in stand-by mode for 3 hours. Then the cooking process will start and it will end up in 30 minutes.

  1. When the cooking start time is reached, one sound signal will be heard.

Use the buttons (25) and (26) to set the cooking time in programmed modes and to choose the cooking end time in "Delayed start" mode.

Press the button (27) repeatedly to choose one of the programmed cooking modes: "Soup",

"Porridge", "Stew", "Cereal", "Roasting", "Rice", "Steam cooking", "Yogurt", "Baking" or "Reheat". You can set cooking time manually using "Hours" (25) and "Minutes" (26) buttons.

Note:

  • In "Baking" mode do not open the multi-cooker lid till the baking is finished.
  • After baking is finished, switch the "Keep warm" mode off immediately by pressing the "Stop/Keep warm" button (20) so the baked food doesn't burn.
  • If you steam food, pour water in the bowl (4) so that boiling water doesn't reach the bottom of the basket (19).
  • In «Roasting» mode the unit operates similarly to a stove, the user has to watch the readiness of food during cooking and switch the unit off by himself when the food is ready.

Dough proofing

The temperature mode of this function is also perfect for dough proofing. Dough proofing is a dough-making step right before baking. During the proofing the dough is intensively fermenting, its structure is restored and it grows in size significantly. One of the main conditions of successful process is absence of draughts and maintenance of constant temperature (about 40^ C) and air humidity. To achieve such conditions factories use special chambers. You can create professional conditions for dough proofing at home, using the multicooker VT-4204 in the «Yogurt» mode.

Mix all dry ingredients, then add milk. Whisk the mixture with a mixer thoroughly, put it into the bowl. Press the «Menu» button (27) and select «Yogurt» mode. Yogurt making time is within the range of 6-10 hours (6 hours by default). To set the dough proofing time set the time «10:00» first, pressing the «Hours» button (25). Then press «Minutes» button (26), time indication «00:00» will be shown on the display. Now set necessary dough proofing time using “Hours” (25) and “Minutes” (26) buttons (recommended time is 1 hour). Press the «Start» button (29) to start this operation mode.

Note: For the best result do not open the lid of the unit till the end of the operation mode.

Press the “Start” button (29) once to launch the chosen program, the on/operating indicator (30) will be lighting till cooking is finished. When the set cooking time is up, the cooking mode will be switched off automatically and the “Keep warm” mode will be activated. The on/operation indicator (30) goes out and the keep warm function indicator (21) lights up. To stop cooking process press the “Stop/Keep warm” button (20), the on/operation indicator (30) will go out.

Cleaning and care

  1. Unplug the unit and let it cool down.
  2. Wipe the body (1) and lid (5) with a damp cloth.
  3. Wash all removable parts with a soft sponge with some neutral detergent, then rinse under running water.
  4. Dry the bowl (4), protection screen (7) and steam valve (6) thoroughly before installing them to their places.
  5. Never use abrasives and coarse sponges.
