How do I turn on the OXI O2 pulse oximeter?

Insert two AAA batteries, then insert your finger into the rubber hole with your nail facing upward. Press the function button once on the front panel to turn it on.

What do the readings on the display mean?

The display shows SpO₂ percentage, pulse rate in bpm, a plethysmogram, battery level, pulse intensity bar, and screen brightness indicator. Press the power button to rotate among display modes.

How can I change the screen brightness?

Long press the power switch to adjust brightness from level 1 to 5.

Why is the oximeter not turning on or responding?

Check that the batteries are inserted correctly, have sufficient charge, and that the button is fully pressed. Replace batteries if needed.

How do I clean the oximeter?

Use a soft cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild liquid. Do not soak the device or let it get wet.

Can I use the oximeter with nail polish?

No, nail polish can interfere with the measurement and lead to unreliable results. Remove any nail polish before use.

How accurate is the SpO₂ measurement?

The SpO₂ accuracy is ±2% within the range of 70–100%. For pulse rate, accuracy is ±1 bpm.

Can I use the OXI O2 for continuous monitoring?

The device measures oxygen saturation of arterial blood (also known as pulse oxygen saturation, usually shortened as SpO_2 ) and pulse. The device should be used in home environment, only by adults. The patient should not be monitored for long term (max 2 hours)

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

When the oximeter is in use, there should not be any high voltage appliances
Keep the oximeter away from dust, vibration, corrosive substances, explosive materials, high temperature and moisture.
Explosion hazard. Do not use the oximeter in the presence of flammable anesthetics mixture with air, oxygen, or hydrogen.
The oximeter should be handled with care so as to avoid shocks and falls.
When the oximeter is in use, it must be ensured the batteries have sufficient capacity; otherwise there might be such phenomena as starting-up abnormalities or inaccurate measurement data, etc.
Take off the battery when the device is not used for a longer time
Do not use sharp objects to operate the device
Do not make any clinical judgments based solely on the oximeter. The oximeter is intended only as an adjunct in patient assessment. It must be used in conjunction with clinical signs and symptoms, as well as doctor's diagnoses.

Do not conduct SpO_2 measurement on the finger smeared with nail polish, otherwise this will lead to unreliable measurement results.
This oximeter does not have alarm function; please do not use this product in the environment where alarm is required.
Please do not open the enclosure. The enclosure shall only be opened by the authorized person.
In order to have more accurate measurements of SpO_2 and PR, the oximeter should be used in quiet and comfortable environment.
Clean the device with a soft cloth only a little damp with water or mild liquid, you should never let the oximeter soak in water

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Install two AAA batteries into battery cassette before closing its cover.
2. Nip the oximeter, then insert one of fingers into the rubber hole of the oximeter before releasing the oximeter, and your nail surface must be upward.
3. Press the function button once on front panel.
4. Your finger and body do not tremble during measuring.
5. Read corresponding data on the display screen.
6. After turning on the oximeter, each time you press the power switch, the display screen will change to another direction. There are two display modes. If you long press the power switch, you can adjust the brightness of screen from 1 to 5.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS AND RESOLUTIONS

Pulse oximetry sensors contain LEDs that emit red light at a wavelength of approximately 660 nm and infrared light at a wavelength of approximately 905 nm.

The total optical output power of the sensor LEDs is less than 15 mW. This information may be useful to clinicians, such as those performing photodynamic therapy.

Note: Sensor LED light emissions fall within Class 1 level, according to IEC 60825-1:2001. No special safety precautions are required.
