Frequently Asked Questions - TKG SI 1004 KALORIK

How to descale my Kalorik TKG SI 1004 steam iron?
To descale, use a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar. Fill the tank, heat the iron and operate the steam until empty. Repeat if necessary. Rinse with clean water.
What to do if steam does not come out?
Check that the tank is sufficiently filled and that the temperature is set for steam (high setting). If the problem persists, descaling may be necessary.
How to clean the ceramic soleplate?
Let the iron cool down, then clean the soleplate with a slightly damp soft cloth. Do not use abrasives. For burnt residues, use a specific cleaner for ceramic soleplates.
The iron smells burnt, what to do?
This may be due to residues on the soleplate or stagnant water. Clean the soleplate and empty the tank. If the smell persists, run the iron empty on a damp cloth.
Why is my iron leaking water?
Check that you are using the iron at a suitable temperature (too low for steam). Make sure the filling cap is properly closed. The anti-drip function should prevent leaks, but descaling may be necessary.
How long does the iron take to heat up?
The iron heats up in about 30 seconds, but the exact time depends on the set temperature. The indicators show when the temperature is reached.
Can I use tap water?
Yes, but to avoid limescale, it is recommended to use a mixture of demineralized water and tap water, or to descale regularly.
How to adjust the temperature for different fabrics?
Refer to the markings on the iron (cotton, wool, etc.). Start with delicate fabrics at low temperature and increase. The steam setting requires maximum temperature.
The cord has deteriorated, can I replace it?
The cord replacement must be done by a professional. Contact Kalorik after-sales service to obtain replacement parts.
Where can I find the complete manual?
The complete manual is available for free download on the site notice-facile.com for the Kalorik TKG SI 1004 model.
