How to fill the water tank of the Cecotec IronHero 1500 Essential?

Make sure the appliance is unplugged and cold. Remove the tank by pulling it downwards, open the black cap, fill with tap water (or distilled if water is hard) without exceeding the maximum level, then close and put the tank back in place.

How to use the steam function on this steamer?

Plug in the appliance, wait for the indicator light to change from flashing to steady (ready). Hold the appliance vertically, press the on/off button to select the power (low for delicate fabrics, high for stubborn wrinkles), then press and hold the steam button to produce steam.

Why is steam not coming out or is it coming out in bursts?

2. BEFORE USE

• This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place to prevent damage to the appliance if you need to transport it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
• Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.
• Do not remove the serial number of the appliance in order to keep a correct traceability of it in case of assistance.
• Remove any labels, stickers or protective film that may be attached to the body or soleplate of the iron before using it for the first time. The iron may give off some smoke and emit some odor when you use it for the first time. Smoke will disappear after a short time. This is a normal phenomenon. It does not represent any problem.

3. OPERATION

Filling up the water tank

Before filling the water tank, make sure that the iron is not connected to the mains.

1. Remove the water tank from the vertical grille by gently pulling downward until it disengages.
2. Once the tank is separated, locate the black tab at the top (indicated by the arrow in Figure 2).
3. Pull the black tab down to open access to the tank fill hole.
4. Fill the tank with running water.

Note: If you are using the iron for the first time, be sure to use clean water. For subsequent fillings, you can continue to use tap water, but if the water in your area is very hard, it is recommended to use distilled or mineral water to prolong the life of the appliance.

1. After filling the tank, close the black tab by pressing it upwards until it is tight.
2. Put the tank back in place by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place. Be sure to remove any water residue spilled during filling.

Note:

• Be sure not to overfill to avoid spills.
• Please note: Do not exceed the maximum level of the tank, even if it does not have a visible mark. Leave a small unfilled space near the top edge.
• If the tank is too full, water may spill out during use.
• Do not add perfume, vinegar, starch, or any chemical product in the water tank.

Putting the plancha into operation

1. Insert the power cord into the mains socket.
2. Wait for the iron to reach the right temperature.
3. During the preheating process, the indicator light will flash.
4. When the indicator light stops flashing and remains steady, the iron has reached the correct temperature.
5. While the iron is in operation, the indicator light will remain on.

Use Steam function

• You can only use the Steam function when the iron is hot.

Make sure there's enough water in the tank.

1. Connect the power cable to a power outlet.
2. Wait for the iron to reach the right temperature.
3. To activate the steam function, press the on/off button and select the desired power level.
4. To activate the steam output, press the button corresponding to the steam function.
5. The griddle has two power levels:

a. Low: for delicate fabrics. b. High: Recommended for thicker fabrics or fabrics with difficult wrinkles.

Warning: Do not direct the iron at any person. Serious injury or burns may occur.

Operation

1. Wait for the iron to reach the right temperature.
2. Hold the iron vertically and keep it at a certain distance from the garment to be ironed.
3. Then press the on/off button and select the desired power level.
4. To start the operation of the vertical iron, press the steam function button.
5. Press and hold the steam function button during all use. If you release the button, steam will stop coming out.

Note:

• This type of appliance is especially useful for ironing hanging clothes, curtains, upholstery, etc.
• When using the iron, the steam may stop coming out for a few seconds. This is a normal phenomenon.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning the iron, unplug it from the socket and allow it to cool down completely. - Wipe it with a damp cloth. - Do not immerse in water or any other liquid. Rinse the tank regularly with water and empty it after cleaning. - After use, unplug the iron from the outlet and drain any water that may remain in the tank. Water loss. The water tank is not properly positioned or the lid is not fully engaged.	Check that the lid is tight and the water tank is securely in place.
The steam flow has been reduced or leaves white spots on the laundry.	Limescale has accumulated in the unit.	Perform the "Cleaning and Maintenance" section.

3. OPERATION

Filling the water tank

• Before filling the water tank, make sure the appliance is unplugged.

1. Open the water tank cap by turning it counterclockwise to remove it. 2. Fill the water tank with water up to the maximum level (see the figure). 3. Close the cap by turning it clockwise until it is tight. 4. Plug in the appliance.

Warning: Fill the tank with water before use. Always use clean water. If the water is dirty, the appliance must continue to be used with clean water, but if the water is very dirty, it is recommended to descale the appliance to maintain its performance.

5. If the appliance is not working properly, check the power cord and plug for any damage. 6. Connect the appliance to a suitable power outlet, ensuring the plug is fully inserted. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself if it has been damaged during use.

Notes

Make sure not to spill the water. - Important: Do not immerse the appliance in water, even if it is not plugged in. Leave a small gap near the steam outlet. If the appliance is not working properly, it may be due to scale buildup. - Do not add any chemicals or additives to the water tank.

Starting the iron

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Unplug the iron, let it cool down completely, and remove the water tank.
• Empty the water tank. -Do not immerse it in water or any other liquid. -Clean the soleplate with a damp cloth and dry it after each use. Wipe the iron with a dry cloth and let the water that may have remained in the soleplate evaporate. Before storing, make sure it is completely cool. -If you use starch or other additives, clean the soleplate with a soft cloth to remove any residue.
