We congratulate you on the purchase of your new product. You have chosen a high quality product. The instructions for use are part of the product. They contain important information concerning safety, use and disposal.
Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use. Only use the product as described and for the specified applications. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.
Intended use
This product is designed to style human hair.
The product must not be used on artificial or animal hair. Do not use the product for any other purpose.
This product is only intended for private household and indoor use. The product is not intended for commercial purposes.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damages caused by improper use.
Scope of delivery
After unpacking the product, check if the delivery is complete and if all parts are in good condition. Remove all packing materials before use.

DANGER! Risk of electric shock! Never attempt to repair the product yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only.
WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Do not immerse the product in water or other liquids. Never hold the product under running water. If liquid does get into the housing, disconnect the product from the mains socket immediately and have the product repaired by a qualified technician.
If the mains cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Do not use this product near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.
When the product is used in a bathroom: Disconnect the product from the mains socket
For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
Clean all parts of the product as described in the chapter "Cleaning and care".
Before connecting the product to the mains socket, check that the voltage corresponds with the mains supply details shown on the product's rating label.
Do not use the product outdoors.
Do not operate the product with wet hands or while standing on a wet floor.
Do not touch the mains plug with wet hands.
Do not pull the mains plug out of the mains socket by the mains cord.
Switch off the product and disconnect it from the mains supply before cleaning and when not in use.
Do not kink or crush the mains cord. Route the mains cord so that it cannot be stepped on or tripped over.
Protect the product, the mains cord and the mains plug against heat, dust, direct sunlight, dripping and splashing water.
WARNING! Risk of
injury! Use this product solely in accordance with this user manual. Do not attempt to modify the product in any way.
The product is not to be used if it has been dropped and there are visible signs of damage.
Remove the mains plug from the mains socket and contact your retailer if the product is damaged.
Never place the product close to sources of heat. Do not let the mains cord touch the hotplates.
Do not use or store the product in or expose it to a humid environment.
- Allow the product to cool down completely before cleaning.
CAUTION! Risk of burns!
Keep product out of reach from young children, particularly during use and cool down.
Never leave the product unattended when the product is connected to the mains supply.
Never place the product on a table when it is heating up or cooling down.
Before first use
NOTE: The product may give off some odour during first use. These are production or transport residue that will quickly subside.
- Remove the packaging. Check if all parts are complete.
- Clean all parts of the product as described in the chapter "Cleaning and care".
Operation
WARNING! Risk of burns! The product becomes very hot during use. Do not touch the hotplates 1/11 when the product is switched on. Always hold the product by its handle 9.
① NOTES:
Excessive temperatures, extended contact with the hair or very frequent straightening can damage the hair. Do not treat a single strand of hair repeatedly, especially at temperature above 200^
This is a handheld product. Do not place the product on a table and close to other objects when is heating up or cooling down. Place the product on a heat-resistant surface and away from other objects.
- Keep the product out of reach of pets or young children during or after use.
The hair must be clean, dry and free of styling products. This excludes special products that promote the straightening of the hair.
Comb the hair thoroughly before straightening.
Use the product in a well-ventilated room.
- Connect the mains plug 5 to a suitable mains socket.
- Close the hotplates 1/11
- Move the travel lock 3 to the position to lock the hotplates 1/11.We recommend to move the travel lock to the position before preheating (Fig.B).
- Switching on the product: Press and hold 6 for approx. 2 seconds. The display lights up and 120^ is flashing.
- Setting the temperature: Press the - button or the + button 8 until the desired temperature is shown on the display 2.
- As soon as the temperature is reached: The set temperature lights up continuously. Alternatively, press and hold the - button 7 for approx. 2 seconds to set the temperature to 185 ^ C immediately flashes on the display 2.
Once 185 ^ C is reached: lights up continuously.
- Move the travel lock 3 to the position (Fig. C). The product is ready for use.

Put a strand of hair approx. 5 cm above the scalp between the upper hotplate 1 and the lower hotplate 11. Do not touch your scalp with the product.

Close the upper hotplate 1 and the lower hotplate 11 with the strand of hair in between. Smooth the hair slowly form hair top to tail (approx. 6 to 8 seconds per hair strand, depending on the hair type).
- If necessary, repeat steps 8. and 9. until the result is satisfactory.
- After use: Press 6 to switch off the product. The display 2 goes off.
- Disconnect the mains plug 5 from the mains socket. Allow the product to cool down completely in a well-ventilated location.
Key lock
To prevent accidentally changing the temperature during straightening, you can manually activate the key lock.
- Press and hold the + button 8 for approx. 2 seconds. The buttons are locked when the lock symbol is shown on the display 2
- Press and hold the + button again for approx. 2 seconds to deactivate the key lock. The buttons are unlocked when the lock symbol goes off from the display.
- Switching off a locked product: Press and hold the button for approx. 2 seconds.
- Ionization function
① NOTES:
Ions reduce the static loading of the hair and improve its stylability.
The ionizer 10 generates ions and applies them to the hair automatically when the product is switched on. The ionizer stops to generate ions when product is switched off.
Do not block the outlet of the ionizer 10 as this would lower the ion generation.
Memory function
The memory function preserves the last temperature setting that was selected during the previous use.
The memory is cleared after the mains plug 5 is disconnected from the mains socket.
- Standby mode
① NOTES:
- Disconnect the product from the mains supply immediately after use. The product is completely free of electrical power only when unplugged.
The product enters the standby mode automatically when the product is connected to the mains supply.
- If the product is switched on for about 25 minutes: ^ flashes in the display 2
- After 30 minutes: The product switches to standby mode automatically. The display goes off.
- Switching the product on again: Press and hold 6 for approx. 2 seconds.

Troubleshooting

Cleaning and care
WARNING! Risk of electric shock!
Before cleaning the product: Always switch off the product and disconnect the mains plug 5 from the mains socket.
- Do not immerse the product's electrical components in water or other liquids. Never hold the product under running water.
CAUTION! Risk of burns! Do not clean the product right after operation. Allow the product to cool down completely.
ATTENTION! Risk of product damage!
- Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents or hard brushes to clean the product.

Do not use cleaning sprays and other aggressive cleaning agents, as they can cause stains, smears or clouding on the surfaces.

Clean the product with a slightly damp cloth. For stubborn soiling, wipe with a light detergent on the cloth.
- Dry all parts thoroughly.
Storage
Store the product at a cool, dry location, protected from moisture and out of the reach of children.
For short term storage: The product can be hung on its hanging loop 4.
Move the travel lock 3 to the position to lock the upper hotplate 1 and the lower hotplate 11.
Store the product in the original packaging when it is not in use.
Disposal
The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1-7: plastics/20-22: paper and fibreboard/80-98: composite materials.

The product and packaging materials are recyclable and are subject to extended producer responsibility.
Dispose them separately, following the illustrated Info-tri (sorting information), for better waste treatment.

Warranty
The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of material or manufacturing defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed below.
The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Keep the original sales receipt in a safe location as this document is required as proof of purchase.
Any damage or defects already present at the time of purchase must be reported without delay after unpacking the product.
Should the product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it - at our choice - free of charge to you. The warranty period is not extended as a result of a claim being granted. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts.
This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly.
The warranty covers material or manufacturing defects. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear and tear, thus considered consumables (e.g. batteries, rechargeable batteries, tubes, cartridges), nor damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches or glass parts.
Warranty claim procedure
To ensure quick processing of your claim, observe the following instructions:
Make sure to have the original sales receipt and the item number (IAN 460371_2401) available as proof of purchase.
You can find the item number on the rating plate, an engraving on the product, on the front page of the instruction manual (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the product.
If functional or other defects occur, contact the service department listed below either by telephone or by e-mail.
Once the product has been recorded as defective you can return it free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure to enclose the proof of purchase (sales receipt) and a short, written description outlining the details of the defect and when it occurred.
