How to use the Cool Shot function?

The Cool Shot function allows you to set your hairstyle with a cold airflow. During use, slide the Cool Shot slide switch upward to activate cold air. To deactivate, slide it downward.

How to install a module (brush or nozzle)?

Insert the desired module onto the module slot, aligning the arrows. Turn the module clockwise until it audibly clicks into place. Ensure the device is switched off and cooled down before changing modules.

How to remove a module?

Turn off the device and let it cool down. Press the 'push' release button and turn the module counterclockwise. You can then pull it off.

Which accessories are included with the SilverCrest SWC 1000 D1?

The included accessories are: a large round brush, a small round brush, a curling clip, a double brush, a semi-round brush, a styling nozzle, and a storage bag.

How to clean the device?

Before cleaning, always unplug the device and let it cool down. Clean the device with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh cleaning agents. Regularly clean the air inlet grille with a soft brush.

What to do if the device does not heat up?

Can I use the device on wet hair?

It is recommended to style hair when it is almost dry. Slightly damp hair may be suitable for some styles, but avoid using it on wet hair to prevent damage.

What is the warranty period?

The warranty is 3 years from the date of purchase. It covers material and manufacturing defects. Keep the receipt as proof of purchase.

Can I use an extension cord?

No, use of an extension cord is prohibited for safety reasons. Plug the device directly into a properly installed wall outlet.

How to store the device after use?

Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all of these operating and safety instructions. Use this appliance only as described and only for the specified areas of application. In addition, pass these operating instructions on to whoever might acquire the appliance at a future date.

Unpacking

◆ Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the carton.
◆ Remove all packing material.

▶ Packaging materials should not be used as a play thing. There is a risk of suffocation.

Disposal of the packaging

The packaging protects the appliance against transport damage. The packaging materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.

The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves raw material and reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material that is no longer needed as per the regionally established regulations.

Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner.

Note the labelling on the packaging and separate the packaging material components for disposal if necessary. The packaging material is labelled with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings:

1-7: Plastics,

20-22: Paper and cardboard,

80-98: Composites.

Safety instructions

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

• This appliance must only be connected to a properly installed wall power socket providing electrical energy at the level detailed on the rating plate.
  ▶ Under no circumstances may the appliance be submersed in fluids or fluids be allowed to permeate the housing. The appliance must not be exposed to moisture or used outdoors. Should liquids enter the housing, disconnect the appliance from the mains power socket immediately and arrange for it to be repaired by a qualified technician.
  ▶ In event of operating malfunctions and before cleaning the appliance, remove the plug from the mains power socket.
• Disconnect the appliance by pulling on the plug itself, not on the power cable.
• Do not wrap the power cable around the appliance, and protect the cable from being damaged.
  ▶ To avoid potential risks, if the appliance power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service or by a qualified technician.
  ▶ Do not kink or crush the power cable, and route it in such a way as to prevent people from stepping on or tripping over it.
  ▶ Do not use extension cables.
  ▶ Never hold the appliance, the power cable or the power plug with wet hands.
  ▶ Unplug the appliance immediately after use. The appliance is completely free of electrical power ONLY when unplugged.

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

▶ You must not open the device housing or attempt to repair the device yourself. Should you do so, the safety of the appliance is no longer assured and the warranty will become void. Only allow authorised technicians to repair a defective appliance.

- Ensure that the power cable ④ does not become wet or moist during use. Route the cable in such a way that it cannot be crushed or damaged.

▶ Ensure that objects can never penetrate into the inside of the appliance, particularly not metal hair clips, grips or hairpins.

Never use the appliance near water, particularly not near sinks, bathtubs or similar vessels. The proximity of water presents a risk, even when the appliance is switched off. Always disconnect the plug from the mains power socket after use. As additional protection, the installation of a residual current circuit-breaker with an activation power rating of not more than 30 mA is recommended for the power circuit in the bathroom. Ask your electrician for advice.

This appliance may be used by children of the age of 8 years or over and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised or, in regard to the safe use of the appliance, have been instructed in its use and have understood the potential risks.

▶ Children must not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance tasks shall not be carried out by children unless they are supervised.

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

▶ Never put the appliance down when it is switched on, and never leave a switched-on appliance unsupervised.

▶ Never place the appliance close to sources of heat, and protect the power cable against potential damage.

- Do not operate the appliance if it has sustained a fall or is damaged in any way. Have the appliance checked and/or repaired by qualified technicians.

- Do not cover the air intake grille ⑥ while operating the appliance. Clean the grille at regular intervals.

The appliance and its accessories can become hot when in use. Therefore, only touch the handle and the buttons.

▶ Always use the appliance with the attachments fitted, never on its own, since the attachment insertion slot ① becomes hot during operation.

- Allow the appliance to cool down before attaching or detaching attachments.

▶ Use only the supplied original accessories, since these have been optimised for interaction with the appliance. Other parts may not be adequately safe.

- Keep the air inlet and outlet openings clear so as to have unimpaired air flow. Otherwise the appliance may overheat.

▶ Exercise caution when using hair spray, water atomizers etc. The air flow may blow these substances directly into your eyes. On the other hand, these substances must not be allowed to penetrate the appliance, since they may be inflammable, aggressive or electrically conductive.

NOTE

▶ No user action is required to switch the product between 50 and 60 Hz. The product adapts automatically to either 50 or 60 Hz.

First use

Before taking the appliance into use ensure that ... - the appliance and its accessory parts are in perfect working condition, - all packaging materials have been removed.

■ Clean all of the attachments as described under "Cleaning and care".

Tips for the perfect hairstyle

■ Only style your hair when it is already almost dry.
■ Divide your hair into individual strands for more volume.
■ You will achieve additional volume by starting to dry your hair at the hairline and working down towards the ends.
■ After switching the appliance off, wait for a few seconds before releasing the curl.
■ Let your hair cool down sufficiently before combing it out.
■ Fix the hair with a little hairspray.

Attachment fitting / removal

Fitting Attachments

• Insert the desired attachment into the attachment insertion slot ①, so that the front arrow symbol on the attachment points at the arrow symbol on the attachment insertion slot ①
  ■ Turn the attachment clockwise until it clicks into place. The back arrow on the attachment now points at the arrow on the attachment insertion slot ①

Removing attachments

■ First switch the appliance off and allow it to coosl down.

Press the release button "push" ⑦ and turn the attachment anti-clockwise

■ The attachment can now be removed by pulling it out of the attachment insertion slot ①.

Switching on/off / Selecting a heat level

■ When you have inserted the required attachment and connected the plug with the mains power socket, you can now switch the appliance on with the level switch ③ and select the output level:

• "0" The appliance is switched off
• "1" for a reduced air-flow strength with heat
• "2" for a high air-flow strength with heat

- You switch the appliance off by sliding the level switch ③ to the position "0" (= appliance off).

To fix the styling, you can use the slide switch Cool Shot ②. The styling will be fixed by the cool air stream:

• During operation, slide the slide switch Cool Shot ② upwards. The air flow will be cooler.
• When you want to deactivate the cool air stream, slide the slide switch Cool Shot ② downwards.

Using the attachments

Large round brush ⑪

This attachment gives the hair more volume or large curls.

■ Wind a slightly damp strand of hair around the large round brush ⑪.
■ Switch the appliance on at level 1 or 2.

- When the strand is dry, slide the slide switch Cool Shot ② upwards. Wait until the strand has cooled.

■ Unwind the large round brush ⑪ from the strand.

■ Proceed with the other strands in the same way.

Small round brush 10

With this attachment you can put curls or waves into your hair.

■ Wind a slightly damp strand of hair around the small round brush ⑩.
■ Switch the appliance on at level 1 or 2.

■ When the strand is dry, slide the slide switch Cool Shot ② upwards. Wait until the strand has cooled.

■ Unwind the small round brush ⑩ from the strand.

■ Proceed with the other strands in the same way.

Curling tongs ⑨

With this attachment you can put small spiral curls (angel curls) into your hair.

• Secure the tip of the strand with the clip on the curling tongs ⑨.
  ■ Then wind the slightly damp strand of hair around the curling tongs ⑨.
  ■ Switch the appliance on at level 1 or 2.

■ When the strand is dry, slide the slide switch Cool Shot ② upwards. Wait until the strand has cooled.

■ Open the clip of the curling tongs ⑨ a little and pull the curling tongs ⑨ out of the strand.

■ Proceed with the other strands in the same way.

Double brush ⑫

This attachment is suitable for drying particularly long hair.

Take up a lock of hair near the root using the open double brush 12, close the double brush 12 and keep it closed.
■ Switch the appliance on at level 1 or 2.
Pull the hair slowly through the double brush 12 so that the lock is dried all the way to the ends.
■ Proceed with the other strands in the same way.

Half-round brush 8

The half-round brush ⑧ is suitable for combing and simultaneous blow drying of the hair.

Styling jet ⑬

With this attachment you can target parts of your hair for styling and blow-drying.

Cleaning and Care

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

▶ Before cleaning the appliance, always disconnect the power cable from the mains power socket. There is a risk of receiving an electric shock!

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

▶ Allow the appliance to cool sufficiently before cleaning it. Risk of Burns!

CAUTION - PROPERTY DAMAGE!

▶ Do not use any aggressive, abrasive or chemical cleaning agents! These could damage the upper surfaces of the appliance.

■ Clean the appliance only with a lightly moistened cloth.

- Allow the appliance to dry completely before re-use or before storing it.

If necessary, wipe the storage bag 14 or the attachments 8/9/10/11/12/13 with a damp cloth.

■ Clean the air intake grill ⑥ at regular intervals with a soft brush.

Storage

■ You can also hang the appliance up by the suspension loop ⑤.

If you are intending to not use the appliance for an extended period, store it in the storage bag 14. The appliance must be cooled down for this!

Disposal of the appliance

Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2012/19/EU-WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your community waste facility. Pay heed to the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.

Your local community or municipal authorities can provide information on how to dispose of the worn-out product.

The product is recyclable, subject to extended producer responsibility and is collected separately.

This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below.

Warranty conditions

The warranty period starts on the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt in a safe place. This will be required as proof of purchase.

If any material or manufacturing fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you or refund the purchase price (at our discretion). This warranty service requires that you present the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) within the three-year warranty period, along with a brief written description of the fault and of when it occurred.

If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the beginning of a new warranty period.

Warranty period and statutory claims for defects

The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee.

Scope of the warranty

This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guidelines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery.

The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or to fragile parts which could be considered as consumable parts such as switches, batteries or parts made of glass.

The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned against must be avoided.

This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use of force and modifications / repairs which have not been carried out by one of our authorised Service centres.

Warranty claim procedure

To ensure quick processing of your case, please observe the following instructions:

■ You will find the item number on the type plate on the product, an engraving on the product, on the front page of the operating instructions (below left) or on the sticker on the rear or bottom of the product.
