What temperature setting should I use for fine or bleached hair?

For fine, brittle, coloured or bleached hair, use a temperature between 100°C and 140°C.

How do I turn on the curling iron?

Press and hold the ON/OFF button (6) until the LCD display shows the temperature. The iron will heat up and be ready when the temperature stops flashing.

Does the curling iron have an automatic shut-off feature?

Yes, the curling iron automatically enters standby mode (120°C) after 30 minutes and shuts off completely after 45 minutes. The LCD will show 'OFF' 2 minutes before shut-off.

Can I use the curling iron on wet hair?

No, hair must be completely dry before using the curling iron to avoid electric shock or damage.

How should I clean the curling iron?

Unplug the device and let it cool. Wipe the exterior with a slightly damp cloth. Never immerse in water or use abrasive cleaners.

Is it safe to use the curling iron in a bathroom?

Caution: Never use near water (e.g., washbasin, shower, bath). Always unplug after use even if switched off, as water proximity poses a hazard. For added protection, install an earth leakage circuit breaker (≤30 mA).

How do I lock or unlock the temperature setting?

Press the ON/OFF button twice to lock the temperature (a lock symbol appears). To unlock, press the ON/OFF button twice again until the lock symbol disappears.

What is the automatic key-lock feature?

The key-lock automatically activates after 30 seconds of inactivity, preventing accidental temperature changes. To switch off the iron, first unlock it by pressing ON/OFF twice.

Can I create different curl styles with this curling iron?

Yes, the manual describes how to achieve classic curls, soft curls, voluminous curls, and waves. Varying the speed and rotation technique produces different results.

What warranty does the SilverCrest SLS 35 A1 come with?

It has a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase for material and manufacturing defects. Proof of purchase is required. Contact the service hotline (UK: 0800 93 10 319) for claims.

The curling iron is suitable for shaping and styling hair. The curling iron can be used to create curls or waves. Do not use the curling iron for artificial hair. The curling iron is only intended for personal uses, not for commercial use. pose the curling iron to shock and do not drop. Carefully check the curling iron, the mains plug and the power cord 7 for signs of wear and / or damage before use. Do not use the curling iron if you notice wear or damage or if the curling iron was used incorrectly, and switch it off immediately in the event of defects or malfunctions. In this event, return it to the retailer before using it again. Risk of electric shock and injury.

Do not use the power

cord 7 improperly to carry or hang up the curling iron, or to unplug it from the socket. Do not crush, kink or twist the power cord 7. Keep the curling iron

and the power cord 7 away from heat, oil and sharp edges. Do not touch the power cord 7 if damaged or cut, but immediately unplug the mains plug from the socket. Damaged or tangled power cords 7 increase the risk of electric shock.

FIRE HAZARD! Do not cover the curling iron.

artificial hair.

■ Ensure there are no highly flammable liquids near the curling iron. This poses a fire hazard.
- Do not use extension cords in the bathroom to ensure the mains plug is easy to reach in an emergency.
- When using the curling iron in a bathroom, always unplug it after use, as the proximity of water presents a hazard, even if the curling iron is switched off.

Never use the curling iron near or in water (e.g.

washbasin, shower, bath tub).

■ Never immerse the curling iron in water. Never reach for an appliance which has fallen into water and is still connected to the mains socket. Unplug from the mains socket immediately. For

added protection we recommend installing an earth leakage circuit breaker (ELCB) with a rated trigger current not to exceed 30 mA into the electrical circuit. Ask your electrician for advice.

■ Only plug the curling iron into a mains socket with the voltage specified on the type plate.
■ Never open the curling iron and do not attempt to repair the curling iron yourself. Any modifications will void the warranty.
■ Always unplug the power cord 7 from the mains socket by the plug.
■ Discontinue use of the curling iron if dropped or otherwise damaged.
■ Untangle the power cord ^7 if twisted.
- Do not use accessories not recommended or sold as accessories by the manufacturer.
■ Repairs must be performed by a qualified specialist or a manufacturer authorised workshop. Improper repairs may result in considerable dangers to the user.
■ Never leave the curling iron un-attended whilst in use.
- Do not use the curling iron outdoors.

- Before first use

WARNING! Please follow the instructions below before first use to prevent harm to the health:

Stand on a dry, non-conductive surface. Risk of electric shock!
■ Ensure your hands are dry! Risk of electric shock!
Be sure your hair is dry! Risk of electric shock!
The barrel on the curling iron can become very hot. Only touch the curling iron by the handle 9 or the Cool Touch tip when hot. Risk of burns or fire!
Do not touch the barrels. Risk of burns!
Do not insert objects between the barrels. Fire hazard!
Switch the product off immediately if defective or if malfunctions occur, and unplug from the mains socket.

ATTENTION!

■ Untangle the power cord if twisted.
Do not pull on, twist or kink the power cord and do not pull or run it across sharp, pointy objects or hot surfaces.
Do not crush the power cord in e.g. drawers, doors or in the barrels 2. Damaged or twisted power cords 7 increase the risk of electric shock!

Operation

Dry your hair completely before using the curling iron.
Be sure your hair is clean and has no styling products in it. This excludes thermal protection hair products.
Comb your hair to untangle.
Plug into a suitable outlet, the LCD temperature indicator 3 will show "OFF".
Press the ON/OFF button to turn the curler on. The LCD temperature display 3 will show the current temperature setting. The LCD temperature display 3 will flash while the curling iron is heating up. When the curling iron reaches the temperature setting, the

temperature will stop flashing and the curling iron is ready to use.

Use the + button or the - button 5 to set the desired temperature. The LCD temperature display 3 shows the current temperature setting. Press the ON / OFF switch 6 twice to save the temperature setting. The Lock symbol will appear in the LCD temperature display 3.

Note: The curling iron has an automatic key-lock which will automatically activate after 30 seconds. The curling iron cannot be switched off until the keylock has been disabled. To unlock, press the ON/OFF button twice again. The Lock symbol will disappear.

We recommend the following temperature settings:

☐ Divide the hair into sections approx. two centimetres wide. Hold the section tight by the tips.

Carefully insert the section of hair into the opening between the two metal pieces 2. Keep your hands far enough from the heating rods 2.

Slide the curling iron

along the section of hair almost to the root. Be careful not to touch the scalp or the hands with the heating rods 2.

Rotate the curling iron

360° and slowly move it down again, along the entire section of hair. Be sure to keep the curling iron at the same angle so the section of hair does not tangle whilst styling.

Note: After 30 minutes appliance will automatically enter standby mode (120°C). The appliance will automatically shut off after 45 minutes, indicated by the LCD temperature display 3 2 minutes prior.

● After initial use

To switch the curling iron off after use, hold the ON/OFF button 6 for three seconds. Be sure to first deactivate the keylock. The LCD temperature display 3 will read "OFF".
☐ Unplug the product from the mains socket after use. Do not wrap the power cord 7 around the product!
Set the curling iron on a sturdy, level, non-flammable surface to cool down. Be sure the barrels 2 does not touch the surface! Fire hazard!
Allow the barrel of the curling iron to cool down completely. Then store the curling iron in a dry location out of the reach of children. Or hang the curling iron from a hook by the hanger loop 8.

Place a section of hair between the barrels 2 and move it almost all the way to the root of the hair.

Open the curl with your hand, moving from the top to the bottom. This will make soft curls.

Place a medium size section of hair between the barrels 2. Hold the curling iron at an angle, close to the root of the hair.

Only clean the curling iron as specified. Never allow liquid to enter the curling iron.
Do not clean the curling iron in the dishwasher.
Do not clean the curling iron with highly flammable liquids.
■ Never use corrosive or abrasive cleaners.
☐ Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the curling iron.

●Disposal

The packaging and the packaging materials are made from environmentally friendly materials. They can be disposed of through your local recycling facilities.

Do not dispose of electric appliances in the household waste!

In accordance with the European Directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its transposition into national law, used electrical equipment must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.

Please contact your municipality for information on disposing of the curling iron.

● Warranty / Service

This curling iron has a 3 year warranty from the date of purchase for defects in material or manufacture.

The warranty does not cover:

• Damage from improper use.
  ·Wearparts.
• Damage caused by the customer.
• If the device has been opened by an unauthoried repair shop.

This warranty does not affect the customer's legal rights. The customer must provide proof of purchase in order for any warranty claims within the warranty period to be honoured. Warranty claims must be filed with MGG Elektro GmbH, Düsseldorf, Germany within 3 years from the date of purchase.
