How to choose the appropriate spindle and rotation speed?

For low viscosity liquids, use a larger spindle with high speed. For high viscosity, use a small spindle with low speed. Refer to the measurement range table in the manual to select the appropriate combination.

How to perform zero adjustment of the device?

Press and hold the OK button and turn on the device. In setting mode, select 'Zero' with ▲, press AUTO, change the percentage (0.0 to 1.0%) with ▲/▼, then confirm with OK.

What to do if the viscosity reading is unstable?

Check that the sample and environment temperatures are stable (±0.1 °C tolerance). Ensure the spindle is properly immersed at the mark and there are no vibrations. For low viscosity liquids, rotate the spindle 3 to 5 times before reading.

How to correct a measured viscosity deviation?

In correction mode, hold ▲ and ▼ and turn on the device. Select CPO (idle) or CPX (deviation) with ▲, press AUTO to change the value with ▲/▼, then confirm with OK. Example: if actual viscosity is 376.2 mPa·s and measured is 360 mPa·s, the error is -4.5%, so CPX should be set to -4.5%.

How to install spindle No. 0?

Screw spindle 0 onto the connector. Place the fixing tube, screw the bolt (1) to secure the rotating sleeve 0. Pour 25 to 30 ml of liquid into the lower sleeve, then gently insert the outer tube aligning the V-groove with the liquid level.

The device displays 'CP' with zeros, what does this indication mean?

The 'CP' symbol displays the viscosity value in mPa·s. If zeros are displayed, it may indicate that measurement has not started or torque is below the set zero threshold. Press the Start button to begin measurement.

What is the recommended operating temperature range?

The viscometer operates at ambient temperature. For optimal accuracy, sample temperature should be maintained at ±0.1 °C. Significant variations affect measured viscosity.

How to clean the device after use?

Regularly clean the housing and measuring head with a soft cloth. Do not use acidic or alkaline products. Keep the spindle and direction connector clean after each use. Avoid any liquid penetration into the device.

What to do if the displayed torque percentage is too high or too low?

The torque percentage should be between 15% and 85% of full scale. If too high, reduce rotation speed or use a smaller spindle. If too low, increase speed or use a larger spindle.

INSTALLATION

1). Take out base, lifting column, handle from the packing box. Screw the column into the base (rack side towards the user). Fix handle onto the lifting block. 2). Adjust lifting button for tightness. Put T-shaped block on the rear of the instrument into handle and get it fixed, making the instrument balanced. 3). Adjust 3 screws on the base to keep the level bubble at the center black circle. 4). Take off the protection cap at the bottom of the instrument. 5). Plug in.

HOW TO USE

1. Prepare liquid sample to be tested, pour it into beaker or flat container with diameter no less than 70mm. Control the temperature of the liquid sample correctly. (Variations of temperature will affect viscosity directly.)
2. Screw the anti-clockwise protection bracket (T-shape) into the bottom end of the instrument.
3. Choose the appropriate spindle and screw it anti-clockwise into the connector.

ATTENTION: Slightly lift the direction connector up when the spindle is installed to avoid damage to the pivot.

1. Turn the lifting button to slowly immerse the spindle into the liquid until the marker on the spindle (groove or marking line) is aligned with the liquid level.
2. Adjust the balance of the instrument again.
3. Keep the testing temperature stable to ensure accurate readout. Otherwise, the readout may fluctuate.

OPERATION

1. Date and Time Setting:

Turn on the instrument; it will display the date and time for 3 seconds, then automatically enter the measurement state. During this period, press OK to enter the measurement state. If you press AUTO, you can set the date and time.

2. Parameter Setting:

Hold the OK button and turn on the power; the instrument shows:

Press ▲ and to select, then press AUTO. Press and to modify parameters. Press OK to confirm.

There are two ways to exit the set state and enter the state of measurement.

A. Hold the AUTO not loose, about 2 seconds, it will exit setting, and the modified parameters are not saved. B. Hold the OK not loose, about 2 seconds, it will exit setting and keep modified parameters.

1). Zero setting range: 0.0%-1.0%, for example, setting is 0.5% when measuring, if the torque is less than 0.5%, and the viscosity values show

2). With and to choose Zero, press AUTO, "XX%" flicker, then

presss and to modify %, and press OK to confirm.

3). Buzzer setting

With and to choose Buzzer. Press AUTO, "ON"And "OFF"flicker, and press OK to confirm.

4). Bit Rate setting

With and to choose bit rate. Press AUTO, select 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, then press OK to confirm.

5). Language

Use ▲ and to choose Chinese or English.

3. Correction of Viscosity Deviation

Hold and at the same time, and turn on the power, the viscometer shows:

CPX: XX .X%

The range of viscosity correction percentage is ± 12.5%. CP0 is the percentage of the idling. CPX is the percentage of viscosity deviation. Such as, the viscosity is 376.2mpa.s, No. 1 spindle, speed 6RPM, the test

value is 360mpa.s. The error is (360-376.2) /360= -4.5%, the CPX should be -4.5%. If the test value is 390mpa.s, the error is (390-376.2) /390= 3.5%, the CPX should be 3.5%.

How to revise CPO and CPX:

1.). Choose the same spindle and speed of testing. 2). Press to choose CPO or CPX. 3). Press AUTO, and to modify the value, and press OK to confirm.

Exit Correction

1). Hold AUTO for 2 second, exit the modified parameters are not preserved. 2). Hold OK for 2 seconds, exit and keep the modified parameters.

After modify the CPX, under the idlling, if the torque % is not zero, should in the CPO.

4. Panel Operation:

Turn on the power at the back of the instrument, and the instrument will be in standby mode. The following information will be displayed on the panel.

1) If spindle 1 is used at 6 RPM, you can directly press the start button on the panel to begin testing. When the displayed values become stable, read the CP value. (To ensure a stable reading, if the viscosity is relatively low, rotate the spindle about 3-5 times; if the viscosity is relatively high, rotate the spindle about 1-2 times.) 2) If the user does not choose the default values S1 and V6, press the spindle select and speed select buttons to enter the selection mode, then press the confirm button to confirm. Once the setup is complete, press the start button to begin testing.

NOTE: Spindles S0~S4 and speeds V0.1/V0.3/V0.6/V1.5/V3/V6/V12/V30/V60 will scroll and display repeatedly.

Explanations:

S: Stands for spindle number. S1 refers to spindle 1. (default value)

V: Stands for rotation speed. V6 refers to 6 RPM. (default value)

T:.....°C: Temperature

%.....: The test value as a percentage of the full scale of the measuring range.

Cp: Viscosity value in mPa·S

For example: If the viscosity of the liquid to be tested is estimated to be

3000 mPa·S, it is recommended to choose the combination S2, V6 or S3, V0.3.

Attentions

1. When this viscometer works under room temperature, the tolerance of the test temperature should keep within ±0.1. Otherwise measurement accuracy will be substantially affected.
2. Pay attention to test values and their percentage rates of the entire measurement range. When numbers are too high or too low, spindle or rotating speed should be changed to keep the percentage within 15%~85%. Otherwise measurement accuracy will be affected.
3. Viscometer should be used under allowed voltages and frequencies. Otherwise measurement accuracy will be affected.
4. Be careful when spindle is assembled or unassembled. Slightly lift up direction connector. Don't handle it with big force.
5. Keep spindle and direction connector clean after use.
6. When instrument goes down, it should be held by hands to avoid vibrations which could do damages to the pivot.
7. When instrument is moved or transported, direction connector should be covered by protection cap.
8. Many of suspension liquids, emulsions, high polymers and other high viscosity liquids are non-Newtonian liquids, whose viscosity values are changing with changes of shear rate and time. It is normal that the test results could be different on different spindles, rotating speed, or time.
9. In order to get accurate measurement, please pay attention to the following points: 1). Control the temperature of the tested liquid accurately. 2). Keep environmental temperature uniform. 3). Keep spindle and liquid to be tested under constant temperature at the same time so as to keep the same temperature for both. 4). Use bigger spindle with higher rotating speed for low viscosity liquid. Use smaller spindle with lower speed for high viscosity liquid. 5). Keep the surface of the spindle clean.

Installation Procedure :

Screw on spindle 0 (5) put on fixing tube (2) screw on bolt (1) and get it fixed put on rotating sleeve 0 (4) screw bolt (3) tight and get it fixed.

Appendix: Spindle 0 installation procedure and usage.

1). Should consider instrument components operation when spindle 0 is used. 2). Pour 25~30ml liquid to be tested into lower sleeve. 3). Gently put outer testing tube from down to up on the fixing sleeve and get it fixed. (On the testing tube is a V-shaped groove) 4). The same method as the above applies when bottomless testing tube used. Take V-shaped groove on the inner wall of outer testing tube as the immersed level line for spindle 0 when outer testing tube and spindle are immersed in the liquid.

MAINTENANCE

1. Clean the shell and internal components of the viscometer regularly, especially the measuring head, to avoid contamination and bacterial growth.
2. Do not use any acidic or alkaline cleaning agents.
3. Viscometers require frequent calibration to ensure accuracy and repeatability. It is recommended to calibrate before each use, while calibrating at different temperatures. (Please be calibrated by professional technicians.)
4. Pay attention to avoid collision and falling during use, especially the measuring head.
