Frequently Asked Questions - HFK-9270 Vevor

How to assemble the Vevor HFK-9270 knee scooter?
Assembly is done in several steps: 1) Connect the steering lever to the frame using the screw and star knob. 2) Unfold the steering column by pushing the lever down while pulling the column up until vertical, then release the lever to lock the safety pin. 3) Turn the lever clockwise to tighten. 4) Install the handlebar by aligning the holes and tightening the star knob. 5) Adjust the knee pad height in the same way. 6) Install the front basket. Refer to the manual for details.
How to adjust the handlebar and knee pad height?
For the handlebar, loosen the star knob on the stem, extend the handlebar to the desired height (holes aligned), then retighten the knob firmly. For the knee pad, insert the platform at the desired height, insert the star screw and tighten. Ensure the handlebar is at wrist level to keep your back straight.
How to use the brakes?
The hand brake consists of locking loops. To slow down or stop temporarily, slowly pull the loops with four fingers. To lock the wheels (parking brake), press both loops with your palms until you hear a 'click'. To release, push the loops back to their original position. The brake can be adjusted by loosening the nut and adjusting the brake cable so that the distance between the lining and the tire is about 3 to 5 mm.
What is the maximum weight capacity of the scooter?
The maximum load capacity is 300 lb (approximately 136 kg). Never exceed this limit to avoid any risk of damage or injury.
Can I use the knee scooter outdoors on uneven surfaces?
It is not recommended to use the device on loose gravel, uneven surfaces, wide cracks, or obstacles such as curbs. Adjust your speed and avoid obstacles. The recommended maximum speed is 3 mph (5 km/h). Do not use it on slopes greater than 15 degrees.
How to maintain the HFK-9270 scooter?
Before each use, check the tightness of all fasteners (stem, wheels, brakes). Clean the device with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive products. The tires are solid and puncture-proof, no specific maintenance is required. Store the device in a dry place.
Is the scooter foldable?
Yes, the design is foldable for easy storage and transport. To fold the steering column, follow the reverse of unfolding: pull the lever to release the safety pin, lower the column, and lock it in the folded position.
Is a basket included?
Yes, the scooter comes with a front basket that attaches to the steering column. It allows you to carry small personal items.
What types of tires are used and are they repairable?
The tires are solid black rubber puncture-proof tires. They do not require inflation and are not removable. In case of wear, replace the entire wheel by contacting Vevor technical support.
Where to find technical support and warranty?
Technical support and the electronic warranty certificate are available at www.vevor.com/support. You can ask questions and register your product there. The warranty covers manufacturing defects according to Vevor's terms and conditions.

Movement

The knee walker is a mobility device that provides strength and comfort to a person who may have an injury below the knee. It allows an even distribution of body weight by supporting half of the weight on the device and the other half on the non-injured leg.

The device has a cushioned platform to support both the injured leg and to make certain that no weight will be placed on the lower leg.

The device is designed for easy steering and stopping.

  • Place your hands on the handlebars.
  • Place the knee of your injured foot on the front pad so that the top of your knee or cast is directly over the space between the pads. Your lower leg is then on the rear pad.
  • Release the parking brake and propel yourself forward or backward with your pushing foot, keeping the knee of your injured foot centered on the front pad.
  • Move slowly so that you can stop safely using your pushing foot.
  • The hand brake may be used if needed but is primarily designed to maintain a stopped stance.

Additional Cautions

  • Do not operate on loose gravel or uneven surfaces.
  • Do not travel over large cracks or fissures.
  • Stop and move forward slowly when encountering cracks or separations in walkway surfaces.
  • Do not operate in excess of 3 miles per hour (slow-to-moderate walking speed).

- Do not turn unless one foot is on the ground.

- Never make a sharp turn at high speed.

- Do not turn at speeds over 1 mph (very slow walking speed).

- Do not operate on inclines above 15 degrees (slight incline).

- Do not travel over drops or barriers such as curbs or parking stops.

- This is a medical device, not a toy. Do not allow children or adults to use it as a toy or for entertainment.

- Always check the fasteners on the tiller, wheels, brakes, and seat for tightness before use.
