Safe operating practices
- Training
a) Read the instructions carefully. Familiarise yourself with the correct use and operation of the tool.
b) Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the tool. Local regulations may restrict the age of the operator.
c) Please note that the operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards that may occur to other people or their property.
- Preparation
a) Before use, check the power cord and extension cord for signs of damage or wear. If the cord is damaged during use, disconnect it from the power supply immediately. DO NOT TOUCH THE CORD BEFORE DISCONNECTING THE POWER. Do not use the appliance if the cord is damaged or worn.
b) Before use, visually check the tool for damaged, missing or improperly fitted guards or covers.
c) Never operate the tool while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.
- Operation
a) Keep the power and extension cords away from the cutting head.
b) Always wear eye protection and sturdy footwear while operating the tool.
c) Avoid using the tool in adverse weather conditions, especially when there is a risk of lightning.
d) Use the tool only in broad daylight or in good artificial light.
e) Never operate the tool with damaged guards or covers or without them in place.
f) Start the motor only when hands and feet are away from the cutting head.
g) Always disconnect the tool from the power supply (i.e., remove the mains plug, remove the disabling device or removable battery) whenever it is left unattended, before clearing an obstruction, before checking, cleaning or working on it, after hitting a foreign object or whenever it begins to vibrate abnormally.
h) Be careful not to injure your feet and hands with the cutting blade.
i) Always ensure that the ventilation openings are clear of debris.
5. Maintenance and storage
a) Disconnect the tool from the power supply (i.e. remove the mains plug, remove the disabling device or the removable battery) before carrying out maintenance or cleaning tasks.
b) Use only spare parts and accessories supplied by the manufacturer.
c) Check and clean the tool regularly. Have the tool repaired only by an authorised technician.

WARNING: Read all safety warnings and instructions.
*Failure to follow all warnings and instructions listed below
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep the work area clean and well illuminated. Cluttered or dark areas may cause accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive environments, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks that can ignite dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can make you lose control of the tool.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the socket. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching sockets will reduce the risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces, like pipes, radiators, stoves and refrigerators. There is a higher risk of electric shock if your body is in touch with grounded surfaces.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not misuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. The damaged or tangled cables can increase the risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. The use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a power supply protected by a residual current device (RCD). The use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Lack of attention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety footwear, helmet or hearing protection, used under appropriate conditions, will reduce personal injuries.
c) Avoid unintentional start-up. Make sure the switch is in the off position before connecting the tool to a power source and/or battery, or before picking it up or transporting it. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools with the switch in the on position may cause accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. Leaving a wrench or a key attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overstretch yourself. Always keep your feet firmly on the ground and maintain a proper balance. This will provide better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Wear appropriate clothes. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can get caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Dust vacuuming can reduce dust-related hazards.
4) Power tool use and maintenance
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the appropriate power tool for the required application. The proper power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories or storing it. These preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow people unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate it. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools and accessories. Check if the moving parts are misaligned or stuck, if there are broken pieces or any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to jam and are easier to handle.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and drill bits, etc. according to these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be carried out. The use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool repaired by a qualified technician using only original replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Hedge trimmer safety instructions
a) Keep all parts of the body away from the blade. Do not remove the cut material or hold the material to be cut when the blade is moving. The blade will continue to move after switching off the tool. Lack of attention while operating the tool may result in serious personal injury.
b) Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle and make sure it is switched off. Do not transport it with your finger on the trigger. Carrying the tool correctly will reduce the risk of accidental start-up and personal injury caused by the blade.
c) When carrying or storing the hedge trimmer, always put the blade cover back on. Proper handling of the hedge trimmer will reduce the risk of personal injury caused by the blade.
d) When clearing jammed material or cleaning the tool, make sure the power cord is disconnected. Unexpected start-up of the hedge trimmer in these situations may result in serious personal injury.
e) Hold the tool by the insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation in which the tool may come into contact with hidden cables or even the power cord. The metal parts of the tool must not come into contact with live wires. This may result in electric shock.
f) Keep the power cord and other cables away from the cutting area. Power cords or cables may be hidden in hedges or bushes and may be accidentally cut by the blade.
g) Do not use the tool in adverse weather conditions, especially when there is a risk of lightning. This will reduce the risk of being struck by lightning.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, never use the long reach hedge trimmer near power lines. Contact or use near power lines can cause serious injury, electrical shock or even death.
d) Always use both hands when operating the long reach hedge trimmer. Hold the long reach hedge trimmer with both hands to avoid losing control of the tool.
e) Always wear head protection when operating the long reach hedge trimmer overhead. Falling debris may result in serious personal injury.
The use of a residual current device with a tripping current of 30 mA or less is recommended.
Warning: the hedge trimmer is designed to be used by the operator at ground level and not on ladders or any other unstable surface.
Warning: before operating the hedge trimmer, ensure that the locking device(s) on any moving parts (e.g. extended shaft and pivoting part), if fitted, are in the locked position.

3. OPERATION
Warning: Hedge trimmers should only be used for shaping, trimming and pruning shrubs, bushes and hedges. Any use other than that specified in this manual could damage the tool or cause serious injury.
Connection
- The hedge trimmer can only be connected to a single-phase AC power socket.
- Make sure that the mains voltage matches the voltage indicated in the tool's technical specifications.
- Make a loop with the power cord and pass it through the cord holder (6) in the rear handle.
Adjusting the position of the rear handle
- Press the safety lock (8) to unlock the rear handle and then move the latter to the desired position.
- The handle can be adjusted to different positions to suit left- or right-handed people or to make it more comfortable to hold.
- Be sure to lock the rear handle in the new locking position before using the tool, otherwise you will not be able to operate it.
Switching the hedge trimmer on/off
- To start the hedge trimmer, press the trigger on the rear handle (5) and the trigger on the front handle (4) at the same time.
- Release either trigger to stop the tool operation. The blade will stop moving immediately.
Trimming or pruning hedges
- Before using the hedge trimmer, find the thickest branches and cut them to the desired length with pruning shears.
- The double movement of the blade allows the hedges to be trimmed evenly, ensuring optimal growth.
- To achieve straight sides, it is recommended to trim from the bottom up, following the direction of growth. Then trim the top of the hedge to the shape of your choice, straight, roofed or rounded.
- The blade has rounded and staggered cutting teeth to reduce the risk of injury. The anti-lock safety system prevents the blade to kickback when it comes in contact with walls, fences, etc.
- If the blade locks up while trying to cut a hard material, turn the tool off immediately and remove any debris that is jamming the blade.
- Metal objects such as wires, etc., can damage the blade.
4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance tasks, disconnect the power cord from the mains.
- Check the condition of the tool before and after each use.
- If the blade is damaged, it must be repaired or replaced by a qualified technician.
- After each use, clean the blade with a soft brush and a cloth with lubricating oil.
