Anova RLT14PTO - Unpacked - 1

Attention

Make sure it contains all the indicated material. Check that it has not been damaged in transport.

Immediately inform the distributor or supplier of any damage or missing parts, since claims filed with later dates will not be recognized.

4.2. Start up

Caution

Under no circumstances should both units be used at the same time. Ensure proper pressure line connection to provide valve operation. Make sure that there are no unauthorized persons in the dangerous work area.

4.2.1. Commissioning according to criteria

(Images 3, 4, 5, 6, 12)

When the cylinder starts

  • Simply pull the operator's lever or raise the final brake arc, at eye level.
  • If you start and pull both operating levers, the piston rod is pressed out of the cylinder and, consequently, the cylinder rises slowly (fig. 4).
  • Now release the shift lever; The splitting wedge is guided upward from the piston rod. The log splitter is now ready to operate (fig. 5).

Caution

Pay the necessary attention to the hydraulic hoses. Carefully and slowly insert the screws into the hole, grab the switching handle and tighten the nuts on the screws (fig. 4).

Attention

Never guide the cylinder quickly upwards or use force, any operating error on the part of the user is excluded from the warranty.

With the cylinder raised

Pay attention to the direction of speed

For transportation reasons

Place a wooden block with a height of approx. 15 – 20 cm on the floor board. Pull the shift handles and drop the dividing wedge onto the wood block. Now grab the shift lever and lock the rearward movement. Now turn off the engine.

  • Lock the limit switch if you are alone.
  • Screw both nuts on the installed pin to release the cylinder board from the frame (image 4).
  • Now connect the motor again.
  • The cylinder now lowers to the splitting wedge if the operating lever is not pulled.
  • When it has fallen, pull the switching lever and turn off the product.

Start the engine and pay attention to the direction of rotation. If the switch does not respond when the operating levers are pulled, the polarity must be changed immediately.

Work with two hands

Wear proper work gloves when splitting wood.

  • The wood is moved to the table using a lifting device (image 6).
  • The splitting process is started by moving both handles downward.
  • Blade movement is stopped by releasing one or both levers.
  • The blade returns to the up position when both switching handles are pushed up.

Split wood length

The product is suitable for splitting one meter blocks and wood. The maximum cut can be limited. The effective upward cutting limitation is approx. 3 – 5 cm above the wood.

4.2.2. Instructions for use

  1. First of all, the trunk must be fixed using a clamping device - chain and spring.
  2. Secondly, pull the switching handle until the wedge falls and firmly touches the top edge of the log.
Now release the shift lever and the knife will stop.
  3. Release the chain spring-holding device and continue splitting the log.
  4. During the splitting process, the wedge normally holds the trunk in the splitting position.

Downcut Limitation

Long pieces of wood: The cylinder extends a maximum of 100 cm (fig. 12).

Division rhythm

There are two rhythms of division.

  • Move quickly in the direction of the wood by lightly pulling the operating levers.
  • The splitting rate decreases and with the forward movement of the wedge maximum performance is achieved by pressing completely down.
  • Never split with the fast forward motion.

Registration Support - Protector

The support is to hold the log after the splitting process to prevent the wood from falling towards the operator. (pic.3)

5. MAINTENANCE AND TRANSPORTATION

5.1. Maintenance

Only a regularly treated and maintained product can be a satisfactory help. Insufficient maintenance and care can lead to unexpected accidents and injuries.

  • Never use aggressive cleaning agents for cleaning. They could damage or destroy the product.
  • Unplug the product.
  • Have any repair and maintenance of the electrical device carried out by electricians only.

- All protective and safety equipment must be reinstalled immediately after completion of repair and maintenance.

5.1.1. We recommend the following:

Splitting wedge/blade

The blade is subject to rapid wear, so you will need to replace it if necessary. This will increase cutting performance and protect the splitter.

Only use a single wedge, you cannot use a cross wedge. Grease before leaving.

  • Two-handed protective equipment for your safety.
  • The operation of the combined clamping and switching device must be smooth. Sometimes it can be lubricated with a few drops of oil.
  • The machine has moving parts, take special care.
  • Keep the splitting blade guide clean (no dirt, splinters, bark, etc.)
  • Check that the hydraulic connections and screws are tight and not worn. Tighten the screws if necessary.

5.1.2. Oil change

(fig. 11)
Anova RLT14PTO - Oil change - 1

natural_image Close-up of a mechanical component with pipes and a bolt, labeled with number 11 (no readable text or symbols beyond label)
  • Check the oil level (the product must be level). The oil tank is located in the divider column.
  • Unscrew the oil drain screw (fig. 11).
  • Collect the drained oil (different amount in each model)

- Dispose of drained oil in an environmentally friendly manner.

- Screw the oil drain screw back on. Caution! No dirt should reach the oil tank.

- Add hydraulic oil to the oil fill level. Consult your nearest distributor if you have any questions.

Anova RLT14PTO - Oil change - 2

natural_image Close-up of a mechanical device with a numbered circle marker (14) and an arrow pointing to a component, no visible text or symbols.

- Test the wood splitter without load several times.

Recommended hydraulic oil: DIN ISO HLP 46
Goo46

Functional test

Before each use, the following functional tests of the log splitter must be carried out:

  • Let both shift handles and the splitting blade lower 5 cm above the table.
  • A switching lever must always be released; The splitting blade will remain in the selected position.

5.2. Transportation and storage

  • Clean the product properly before storing it.
  • Keep the product in a clean and dry place.

Anova RLT14PTO - Transportation and storage - 1

Attention

There may be oil leaks during transportation of the product. Secure the product properly and take measures to protect the environment.

Transport

Anova RLT14PTO - Transport - 1

  • Transport by forklift/pallet truck: The product is fixed to a pallet using straps for transport.
  • Transport by crane: Circular loops on the casing will be used to transport the product using a hook.
Never lift the product by the blade to split. Never transport the product in a horizontal position (oil may spill).

Facility

The product has been designed for work on flat surfaces and must be installed and fixed using M10x150 screws on a hard base so that it is sufficiently stable.

5.3. Hydraulic equipment

  • The hydraulic equipment is a closed system with oil tank, oil pump and control valve. The manufacturer's prefabricated system must not be modified or tampered with in any way.
  • Periodically check the oil level. Too little oil would damage the oil pump (picture 14).
  • Periodically check the hydraulic connections and screws for tightness and tighten them if necessary.
  • Clean the filters (fig. 9) occasionally. Check regularly.

5.4. Hydraulic system diagram

6. TROUBLESHOOTING
