2 General safety instructions

Note the following basic safety information when using electrical devices to protect against:

• Electric shock
• Fire hazards
• Injury

2.1 General safety

WARNING!

• Only use the device as intended.
- Disconnect the device from the mains

– before cleaning and maintenance
- After every use
– Before changing a fuse

• The device may not be used if the device itself or the connection cable are visibly damaged.
• If the power cable for this device is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, customer service or a similarly qualified person in order to prevent safety hazards.
• This device may only be repaired by qualified personnel. Inadequate repairs may cause serious hazards.
• This device can be used by children aged 8 years or over, as well as by persons with diminished physical, sensory or mental capacities or a lack of experience and knowledge, providing they are supervised, or have been taught how to use the device safely and are aware of the resulting risks.

• Electrical devices are not toys.

Always keep and use the device out of the reach of children.
• Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.

NOTICE!

• Before using the device for the first time, check that the voltage specification on the rating plate matches that of the power supply.
• Never pull on the power cord to unplug the device from the power socket.
  • Store the device in a dry and cool place.

2.2 Operating the device safely

WARNING!

• Only use the charger supplied to charge the lithium-ion battery.
  • Only ever keep and use the device indoors in a dry place.
• The power socket to which the device is connected must be close by and easily accessible.

CAUTION!

• Do not operate the device
– In salty, wet or damp environments
– In the vicinity of corrosive fumes
– In the vicinity of combustible materials
– In areas where there is a danger of explosions

NOTICE!

- Do not disconnect any cables when the device is still in use.

The BP124 lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack is a portable power supply for 24 V coolboxes. Only the charger supplied may be used to charge the lithium-ion battery.

5 Technical description

The BatteryPack BP124 is a portable lithium-ion rechargeable battery that serves as a mobile power supply for coolboxes.

The device has a back-light that can be switched on if required.

6 Using the device

6.1 Charging the lithium-ion battery

WARNING!

If batteries are overcharged they may set on fire. Only use the charger supplied.

▶ Place the charger (fig. 3 1, page 4) on a firm base.
▶Fold the handle of the battery upwards.
▶ Connect the DC connecting lead (fig. 3 2, page 4) of the charger to the battery (fig. 3 3, page 4).
▶Connect the charger to the AC power supply.
√The LED on the charger shows the battery charge level:

- Red: battery charging is in progress

– Green: the battery is fully charged

NOTE

• The LED also shows green when there is no battery connected to the charger.
• If the battery has not been charged for a long time, the charger will not immediately show the charge level. Leave the battery connected to the charger until the LED shows red.

√Charging takes around 5 hours.

NOTE

If the battery has been completely discharged, the recharging process can take up to 10 hours.

√When the battery is charged up, the charger switches off.

6.2 Supplying the cooler with power

▶Connect the DC plug to your coolbox.

6.3 Checking the charge level

▶If necessary, disconnect the charger from the battery.
▶Press the ⏻ button.
√ The battery shows the charge level. The more LEDs that light up, the higher is the battery charge level.

6.4 Switching on the back-light

▶ Press and hold the ⏻ button for between one and three seconds.
√The back-light switches on.

6.5 Switching off the back-light

▶ Press and hold the ⏻ button for between one and three seconds.
√The back-light switches off.

6.6 Replacing the fuse

To replace a blown fuse, proceed as follows (fig. 4, page 4):

Using a cross-bladed screwdriver, release the fuse-holder cap by turning it anti-clockwise.
▶Replace the fuse with one of the same rating.
▶ Using a cross-bladed screwdriver, refit the fuse-holder cap by turning it clockwise.

7 Maintaining and cleaning the device

NOTICE!

Do not use sharp or hard objects or cleaning agents for cleaning as these may damage the product.

▶Occasionally clean the product with a damp cloth.

NOTICE!

Fully charge the lithium-ion battery at least every two months. Overloading the battery or storing it for too long without using it may cause permanent damage to the battery.

8 W a r r a n t y

The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact the manufacturer's branch in your country (see the back of the instruction manual for the addresses) or your retailer.

For repair and guarantee processing, please include the following documents when you send in the device:

• A copy of the receipt with purchasing date
• A reason for the claim or description of the fault

9 D i s p o s a l

Place the packaging material in the appropriate recycling waste bins wherever possible.

If you wish to finally dispose of the product, ask your local recycling centre or specialist dealer for details about how to do this in accordance with the applicable disposal regulations.

Protect the environment!

Do not dispose of any batteries with general household waste.

Return defective or used batteries to your retailer or dispose of them at collection points.
